    The most enjoyable episode so far i am a big fan of the ever changing weather and enviroment conditions and to be honest after watching this i had no idea it was so in depth and worked on this much attention to detail.
    PC2 is a sim i will never get tired of, of coarse no sim/game is ever going to be perfect but for me this sim is a masterpiece and can not thank every one there enough for creating it.

    After watching your videos, I honestly feel all sim makers need to do this to truly explain the nuts and bolts of what is going on in their sim. It's fantastic, and thank you!

    Yorkie, this is a great video. I'm really glad you were able to show the track in the debug mode, as it was great for a visual example of how Livetrack works. The more I learn about PC2 from you, the more I enjoy the game. Keep it up!

    I really like Live Track a lot, it's a great feature especially in longer races I do. I love the fact that even at the same circuit the conditions are different each time you race there, it makes things much more realistic and you really have to learn to adapt your driving style to it.

    Looking forward to next episode to see how accelerated time progression effects the wet surface on track. Oh and tell the developers to fix the undrivable puddle at Murray’s corner at Bathurst (last corner) really upsets us aussies that we can’t run our beloved V8’s in the wet at our home track!

    I wish we could select which weather slots to put into “random” weather.
    I like random weather in a race but would like to turn off fog or snow

      The only thing I can think of is to restart session and it should generate new weathers. It did it for me on Xbox one a few times

    The detail and ambition of LiveTrack and the weather system is pure awesomeness. Fantastic! Very interesting to hear more details about it. I would be bored very quickly now, with a racing game where everything is static and clear weather all the time. :)
    Question about career, where the weather is scripted: Is there a random element (seed) there as well?
    Question 2: If I do practice and qualification session, continue to Race but exit the game, and come back another time: Does the game remember the track status from practice and quali or is there a new seed? As if I had skipped P & Q session? Thanks!

    • @Yorkie065
      @Yorkie065  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, it's mighty impressive and I'm sure you will be even more blown away after the next episode ;)
      As for your question about Career, although the weather is scripted, yes, you do still get the randomly generated seed that fit within the parameters of the scripted weather. So if you were to do the same Motorsport over and over, you will see and feel some differences and variation on each play through of the Motorsport. And I do believe, I could be wrong though, that it remembers the Livetrack data if you were to do P & Q but exit in the race and do the race another day.

    I'm more curious how good and precise this great LiveTrack system with all its details affects the tires/handling of the car...

    5:20 i had this on my first race in career, ai didnt care track limits and i saw 1 big green line of where the cut the corners

    How does Tme Accelleration affect all of this, and how does online multiplayer change it? We have been having issues with car handling being quite different between Qualifying and Race sessions in online rooms. It does not affect all drivers in the session, but for those that are affected, it feels like the track surface has reset to 0 in the Race session. Any insight into that?

    • @Yorkie065
      @Yorkie065  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So time acceleration I believe (need to double check) does have an impact on the evolution of Livetrack and its weather related aspects, something that I will be covering with next episode.
      As for multiplayer, the host generates the seed at the beginning of the first session, which gets shared with all other players in the lobby. Livetrack simulation from then on is done locally for each player on their own machines, but the weather and car positioning data of all other players is constantly being updated and shared between all the players so that info that feeds Livetrack is always in sync. At the start of the next session, the host will then do a resync again of their Livetrack data to ensure everyone has the same data. Anyone who JIP's (Join In Progress) into a session gets the Livetrack data from the host at the point they join into the lobby and rock up in the garage.

    • @canamvrl
      @canamvrl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for that info. I'm looking forward to the next one. Regarding Time Acceleration, I would thin that the LiveTrack development is also accelerated to mathc with the time acceleration? Standing by for the next video to answer THAT question.

    Can you elaborate on how LiveTrack 3.0 behaves differently between offline and online multiplayer sessions? Racing lines in both wet and dry conditions don't develop online anywhere near the magnitude they do offline. Furthermore, the track changes aren't felt to the same degree online as offline, as if LiveTrack 3.0 is muted somewhat online.

    • @Yorkie065
      @Yorkie065  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So Livetrack doesn't behave differently per-se between offline and online, however the factors that effect the evolution of livetrack are going to be much more variable, dynamic and random. With offline, the AI run near identical racing lines lap after lap, or at least there is usually little deviation from it. With online, players lines are a lot more variable, and the likelihood of them being extremely similar lap after lap is going to be very very low. With that, you're going to have more tyres lifting water from exactly the same spots lap on lap with AI than you are with players, hence the racing line drying quicker offline when compared to online. There are other factors too, all of which I shall be explaining in the next episode with Livetrack evolution.

    I'm pretty sure shadows do not influence the Temperature, or did this change? The last I knew from WMD was that the angle of the track/ sun influences temp, but not "grapical" shadows.

    • @Yorkie065
      @Yorkie065  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could be right there actually. I was under the impression that all shadows were, but I could be wrong.

    Any chance we can get a look into tires and/or suspension at or over the limit? (Drift, Rally, Brocky, F150) Again, love your videos and please keep them coming!

    • @Yorkie065
      @Yorkie065  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm maybe. That's a lot more of the technical side of things, and isn't really important in helping the player get better at the game which is what the series is mostly about. I know this episode was quite techy, but it gives the player a better understanding of how the track and weather works for them to adjust their approach towards sessions, setups, and driving in different conditions.
      There's a lot of subjects that I want to cover, but once I do run out of topics (it's going to be a while lol), that could very well be something cool to do an episode on.

    • @Housetian2

      Cool, I know it's a bit esoteric, but thought I would suggest it. I know a good deal already, I was able to have a few conversations in LA at a couple PC2 events with AJ and what he explained pretty much reinvented the game for me. Again, your tips and vids are awesome. I've shaved massive time and become a much better sim racer thanks to you!

    Excellent video as always! Does live track effect the A.I. In terms of lap times?

    • @Leynad778
      @Leynad778 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly it does, just not always like it should.

    • @Yorkie065
      @Yorkie065  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does yes, but probably not as much as it can effect the player. They're on a more simple tyre and physics model so they can get away with things that the player can't.

      LiveTrack 3.0 is the name of the system that does simulation of dynamic track evolution in-game. It's on all platforms.

      You got the name of it right, but it is only available to the developers of the game, and very few private limited testers. It's not available to the public.
