    Hey Etang I got a question about the inverted kingpins on Slappy and Indys, did the inverted kingpins ever get loose on you after all the abuse you put into them on either truck brands in the inverted kingpin versions? If not is it true that the issue with anyone having loose inverted kingpins with either inverted Slappy or Indy is that the inverted kingpins has to be tighten down pass the plastic nylon on the nut in the baseplate so it stays tight and won't become loose after extended use? Let me know thanks!

    • @Mardinovic
      @Mardinovic ปีที่แล้ว +3

      damn this got me thinking, i've been riding Slappy inverted hollows for few months now and riding pretty loose. not that i've noticed if the kingpins are loose or not but i certainly noticed the bushing washers rattles sometimes. i bet that is probably because the kingpins are not tightened to the plastic nylon bit. might check it later!

    • @ETANGSKATES
      @ETANGSKATES  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve found most of the time I can just set my tightness and leave it and they don’t ever loosen too much. I’ve noticed I have to tighten my trucks every once and while with inverted kingpins vs standard kingpins but if you are having a problem with your trucks coming loose from abuse I would put some thread lock aka lock tight on the threads and nut to keep it from loosening. I’ve had the kingpins get loose especially on Indy mid baseplates. Slappy uses a regular locknut that seems to keep the tightness pretty well!

    I've only ridden Slappy's and Thunders for the past year...my experience is the aluminum on a Thunder hanger feels harder / more dense, and for me personally (obviously not for you) they don't groove as fast. Aluminum on a Slappy however feels softer, so it grooves quick but there's just more of it above the axle (which also makes em heavier). Either way this was extremely entertaining so thank you. 😆

      @ETANGSKATES  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Hit axle skating rails only !? yeah that would take years. You should make a video on that. Also you are kinda missing the point of the video I grind the trucks as fast as I can to see how durable the aluminum is and depending on how long they take that’s how I rate their longevity.

    • @search895
      @search895 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ETANGSKATESYou say in another comment that ventures give similar results. Other say similar stuff to other brands. Maybe it is just normal.
      It's easy to grind a metal piece down with a file and some effort in half an hour. I guess using the whole weight of our body on the trucks over concrete blocks gives just similar results.
      I guess the only way to make trucks more durable is by being made of heavier stuff.
      On a side note, trucks sometimes are more comfortable to grind once they hsve been wore down and shaped by grinds.

    I remember skating thunders in the 90s and the bushings would do that when tightned. They were virtually unskateable. I bailed a carlsbad gap ollie my truck hit the ledge at bottom and exploded 😂 Worst trucks ever

      @ETANGSKATES  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lloydchristmas1086 they are not the worst trucks when plastic Walmart trucks exist but coming from independents I was always slightly disappointed with their performance! Thanks for commenting!

    Thunder, Venture etc are aluminium, softer material so it grinds kerbs easier but wears out quicker. Indys are steel, so heavier and don't grind as well on kerbs, but last a lot longer. If you just grind rails and coping the aluminium trucks last a long time, smooth rails are less abrasive. They could just make a truck with a grind plate made of harder material that would last longer than Indys.

      They have changed something with the way they turn and grind they still remind me of how krux trucks feels in the turning department and I enjoy a surfyer truck over a stable truck I did like how they grinded but I don’t like how much they mess with the wheelbase!

    You could axle indys in a day too if you do this lol I used to know so slap tards that should sit around and see who could ruin a pair of indys the fastest and a couple hours is all it would ever take i skate ventures or thunders and they often last me a year if i don’t purposely try and axle then skate other things besides curbs and ur trucks will last a long time lol
