Brett and Louis did receive an award in the name of Westwood Studios a couple of years ago, so they are proud of what they've done and accomplished. EA even admitted that they made some poor/bad decisions, including closing Westwood.

When it comes to GDI vs SAM sites, if you need to be in the enemy bases to destroy the sites since that's how they're placed over the map, you might as well just go forth and destory all of Nod before you clean up the SAM sites lol...

I love this version of C&C most. I love each sodier and tank that I dont want to lose single them. I find the way to reduce the lost as minimum as posible even it takes more time to complete each mission. Love this version too much.

Mission 12: The one where GDI sends the dumbest pilot they have on a critical rescue mission. I had a heck of a time getting past it, pouring many, many hours into multiple failed missions until I decided to just go all out trying to take out as many SAM sites as possible so the dummy helicopter pilot who apparently thinks he's flying NOD SAM sites: An Aerial Tour doesn't get shot down. It's one of those missions where the speedrun strat is actually the correct way to beat the mission.
@@pilotravis Looks like he's using force fire with the tower (if I remember correctly, some older versions of C&C didn't allow force fire for defense structures). Also, this version has a unit build queue and he's got the game speed turned up.
Funny detail in mission 12: the Nod base is actually at low power from the start, so not destroying the SAM Sites around your base means their Obelisk doesn't work. The strategy he used (blocking the helicopter flight waypoint) was actually patched out in later versions, so it no longer works. @Brambleshire: Nothing special needed. Select tower, click on wall. It's just a normal valid target.

12:02 Friendly "fire" much? I was looking to get the all-hard missions achievement, figuring it would take me a weekend or two. Then there's this video that does it in nearly half an hour.
To get the all hard missions achievement for TD you have to do all parallel missions and all expansion missions on Hard though (I took about a month to do).

I was fascinated by the concept of the shroud of war at an early age. Should have said that to my RDC in boot camp when being posited the question “why did you join?”. Would have could have should haves. But i didn’t.
The last mission took me forever to do 20+ years ago, im not sure i ever finished it actually. I remember restarting so many times, trying diffrent units just to try take down the base/outpost closest to where you start and it was just impossible with brute force. I guess the trick is clever use of the engineers to capture buildings but I was never a fan of those, either way well done, that was fun af to watch
back in the day in germany they cut the deathsounds/blood from infantry deaths, they were just cyborgs fighting they said. Now I get ptsd from those deathsounds lol
Learning the map well will get you results like this, so I doubt it lol. I don't think they care how much you exploit the game though. the leader of this project admitted that C&C1 was not originally developed with difficulty settings in mind. How do you beat level 12 that way? In my game it's mathematically impossible (timing) to do it that way. I've tried slowing the speed down to micro the fuck out of every click and it still isn't possible. Best I could do was get the 2 SAMs next to the bridge but the transport gets shot down after leaving by the 3rd. What the hell? The version I play is the OG via Origin, not the remaster if there's any difference.

Is it actually fun to play the game this way? Is it to test out the game and try to be smarter than the game designers or is it just about time acchivements?
In the second campaign, they immediately send engineers into the Nod structures without sending troops ahead (troops don't enter the base until after the engineers), then sells a building seconds before its destroyed. Really heads-up play...I never had the guts to send engineers inside enemy confines without a full battalion already posted, lol. I like this type of speed run because it's all gameplay skill. FPS and platformer runs like Halo and Super Mario Bros. (which are amazing in their own right, don't get me wrong), use glitches or exploits to skip parts of a level. Finishing a level in 5 minutes, when, under normal play, it would take a very skilled player 30-45 minutes or longer with skilled play, is just not as satisfying.
Funnily enough, if you destroy the Airstrip in that mission, then go to Mission Select to try the skipped level anyway, the Airstrip will be missing from the NOD base.
Wait do multiple of the same building increase unit production speed? Man here I am deploying cheese strats and AI abuse to complete the campaign over a long time.

At 25:10 what's the effect of throwing grenades at the SAM-site? Does that somehow prevent the Chinook from being shot down?
no effect - it's just random whether the transport gets shot down or not (on Hard difficulty) unfortunately
