Super mario galaxy 2, giant piranha plant glitch (COMPLETION SPOILERS!)

The animation of the giant piranha plant going back underground keeps going. First the pirnaha plant was invisible (i got hurt while it wasn't there), and than the animation started. The object of the plant still seems to be there, because you can get hurt when I you go inside the ring of dirt.
I don't know how to trigger this glitch.

@nivolord I think the trigger is that you're looking for green star 1 and have gotten the first checkpoint flag. I got the same glitch and other videos seem to follow these conditions.

It's the SSBM black hole glitch all over again!
