- Fall fashion for ladies over 60 with coupons.! I share with you the fun I had buying dresses, sweaters, pants, blazers, and more on sale. I also found a new handbag and wallet that perfectly fit my new fall clothes.
I have 15 more pounds to lose but it's going slowly...but I still wanted a few new items for fall, so I think I chose wisely...I didn't spend a lot but I loved what I got! They are whimsical and boho and make me feel great to find the bargains I did! It also inspired me to keep losing weight so I can wear the styles I love.
I also share with you a confession about that lovely young girl Diane I spoke of last week! Her grandmother died and we answered some of her questions....

30+ years ago my husband lost his job. My sons were very young. We would travel to visit his parents in Florida and loved it. We wanted to live there. He got a severance so we packed up & moved! What seemed like the worst thing turned out to be the best! I'm not minimizing your pain. Just letting you know sometimes things work out for the best. With love & warmest wishes.
Hello Suzio, I wanted to connect with you because a long time ago, back in 1983, my "soul mate" left me. During our 10-year marriage, I never doubted his love and devotion and then, one day, it was suddenly over. After much torment and soul searching, I realized how much I got "my identity" from him. I thought how will people know who I am without him, how will they know how I am without his light shining on me. Well, was I wrong. I actually came to life for the first time and pursued my own wants and desires and interests and haven't looked back. I did meet someone else some time after and had a wonderful marriage until his death. But, my point is, to hopefully find peace with the situation and start to discover yourself. I know everyone is different and my situation might not be yours, but keep an open mind and an open heart and know you are not alone.
I had a difficult relationship with my mother in my youth, but as I got older I realized I needed to accept my mother for who she is and just let things go. I got along with her better we got closer and before she died she told me she loved me we hugged and I told her I loved her. So when she passed there were no regrets. Forgive let go and accept your mother we all have faults before it’s too late. That is the biggest lesson I learned I’m so grateful I did before it was too late
The first to apologize is the bravest.
The first to forgive is the strongest.
The first to forget is the happiest.

I lost my Mom last May. Our relationship wasn't one for the books. I am a mother and a daughter as well. Things can get sticky. However, I am so grateful the last words we spoke to each other were, " I love you, Mama. I love you too, baby, "was her reply.

I recently lost my mom. We were close and I took care of her best I could. I was so busy working full time, worrying about my husband’s health, and trying to take care of her. She was physically disabled. I hope she knew how much I loved her by my actions. I regret not saying I love you and hugging her more. I was always on a mission to get everything done. I know she knew how much I loved her but now that she is gone I realize how important it is to say it often. I would give anything to hug her and say I love you mom.

I have regrets but not where my mum is concerned. She raised me because my dad died when l was still a child. I adored her. In her latter years dementia set in and at the end the nursing home sent her to hospital. My daughter briefly brought her out of her medically induced coma and l told her again what a great mom she had been. And when we left my daughter and l told her we loved her. We lost her two days later on Christmas.

My mom and I were always close. When I moved 4 hours away, it was hard on both of us. She suffered a stroke and passed 10 months later. I wasn’t there when she passed and it killed me not being there! That was 5 years ago now and Your video brought me comfort reminding me that we both knew how much love there was between us. I am crying now, but a good cry. If there is such a thing 😊

Thank God we started talking on the phone. He never would tell me why he stopped talking to me & didn’t want to see me. I didn’t get to see him again. Last month he told me how much he appreciated everything I did for him growing up. I also thanked him for all he did. It was a blessing of a conversation. You never know when someone is going to die. Please put hurts aside & make up. Tell each other you love them & appreciate them. It was weird that he called to say all that to me. We were both vulnerable to each other. I miss him. Love you, Lucy

We lost my brother who was estranged for 7 years last May under tragic circumstances and mental illness. Sometimes you just can't start over. Sometimes you just don't want to open that door again. My heart breaks for my parents because he thought that we didn't love him, but we did, more than he was ever capable of knowing. 💔

Over two years since I had contact with my eldest son who was poisoned by my younger sister. I miss neither of them. I contact his son on his birthday and he returns my text. That is enough. Toxic people have made me ill. I deserve to be well and care about me. Alone if necessary.
I'm in the same situation with my eldest daughter. She's estranged from me and her three siblings. I've never met my grand son. I feel your heartbreak.
Hi Susan I always enjoy your seasonal shopping trips-and look forward to spending this fall and winter with you and Desi. As usual, you didn’t disappoint- giving us those words of wisdom about estrangement. I’m estranged from one of my friends of 53 years. She got mad at me and never gave me a chance to try and work things out. I reached out to her with cards, texts, and a phone call which she never returned. Our lives were so interwoven and we gave each other so much support throughout all the decades of work and raising kids, I can’t comprehend how she can blow that off. But I have come to accept that it may not be for me to know…Desi looks wonderful in his Fall sweater ❤

Pop psychology now tells people to simply cut out of their lives those with whom they have difficult relationships. This causes so much hurt and harm and prevents personal growth.
My father had a difficult relationship with his father from the day of his birth. Yet he was always respectful and kind towards his father, and this slowly won the man over in his old age.
My father always managed to do the right thing, and I wish I had his wisdom.

Loved the new clothes! The most important thing about the clothes you wear is that you feel beautiful. Some days if it's a bit of a rough one (grief) even if I am not doing anything special I will take the time to change a few times until I feel beautiful in what I am wearing it automatically gives me confidence that I find I am starting to lack as I age (61). I say to myself does this look old lady😅 I live in Alaska and say purse, pants, couch vs. Handbag, trousers, sofa and never hear the other words it must be a whete you live or what words your Mom used?

I couldn't wear wool either, but now i wear Wigwam wool socks all fall/winter/spring.
My mother and I did not speak for 12 years and it was all because I dropped out of medical school when I found out I was pregnant and married the father of my unborn child she held that against me for so long she did not see my son until he was wow in fourth grade and by then she had another grandson who is two years younger that she hadn’t seen she resented the fact that I did not finish medical school. I honestly think she was living through me. We did have a conversation if you can call it that and we were cordial, but I think the one who really suffered was my sons, she expected everything from me and not my sister so when my sister had a daughter, she spent every waking moment with my mother mothers and daughters. There’s such a dynamic teeter totter effect.
So sorry to read this......When people say Moms are everything, I always think, No they are not. Some are not very nice people. I hope you & your family are doing just fine 🥰

My little family is going through a hard time right now. My brother is fighting with my Mother and is ready to cut ties. I'm not. However the way she has treated us as adults is different. I don't blame him for wanting to cut ties.I love my mother even though she is verbally and emotionally abusive to both of us. I've accepted her for who she is and take breaks from her when I need to.
Is she aware how painful her words are to all of you? Can you be vulnerable enough to share how painful and hurtful her words are? That her words make you feel like she doesn't love you. Let's get to the truth of our feelings, like Susan did with her mom. I had a good relationship with my mom but I was across the country when she passed. It took me a year to forgive myself. I just wasn't strong enough to be with her and watch her die. Now I always am available for a loved one, person or pet! It takes courage.
@@lindafolk4598 Yes, she does know that her words and actions hurt. But at the moment she says or does something to us she doesn't care. We are the enemy and she's the victim. She just wants to cut and hurt us because she feels disrespected My mom sees my brother and I as children who must be loyal to her at all costs. We didn't have a voice as kids and she expects us to fall in line as adults. It's such a mess.

You have really nice taste in clothes. I would love to dress nice but there’s absolutely no reason too. Since losing my husband and leaving our home, I live in a small town in North Carolina and I really don’t go anywhere not as much to do in this town anyway. So I just live in my capris and T-shirts.but I do miss dressing nice. It’s pretty bad in Wallet. I do love good handbags and wallets. That’s one of my things in life and I’ve never given up. I just still love a good bag and good wallets.

I’m so sorry about that young girl losing her grandma and wish her strength and happiness. I’m also experiencing estrangement with my son. If you would have asked me 10 years ago I would have said that will never happen with my son and myself. It sometimes can be mended and other times maybe not. I’m not giving up on my son and someday I hope he does come around. Thank you for sharing that with us and I hope they all can find happiness again. I enjoyed your video tonight and was the boost I needed, since this whole week I’ve been sick with a cold. I’m feeling better everyday and I’m sure I’ll be up to my usual business in no time.
