    As you probably know, before 1999 every bar in the country cleaned there own beer lines. When Diageo bought Guinness that year they told every bar in Ireland to stop cleaning your lines. We are going to do it from now on, but it will be every 6 weeks. This is when a bar would have a consistent good pint or a poor pint.The bars with the consistent good pint continued to clean there lines every week as they did before 1999. 22 years on from that take over, the bars that rate a high score just don’t wait that long 6 weeks it’s still done weekly 👌.

    Looks like the ring around the glass was water that wasn't able to drain where the glass has been stacked. Theyre likely going through enough Guinness to have amazingly clean lines, and glasses need to be stacked due to space and volume of pints sold.
    As far as the price goes, you're paying for atmosphere, live music etc which is why they're busy in the first place

    The bubbles on the side might mean it’s an old glass and needs replacing. Especially in a busy pub like that.
    In the UK there’s an M number on the side of the glass, that’s the year when the glass was made, I assume there’s something similar in Ireland

    • @coldphinger
      @coldphinger 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      The glass issues is caused by the glass not having enough time to cool down after washing; and there's some residual liquid in the glass still.

    Some different comments regarding the staining on the glass. In my experience this is not due to wet glass or storage. It's staining from fat which is caused by washing with glasses that contain cream (such as Baileys). Guinness glasses should not be washed together with glasses which contained anything with milk or cream.

    Its simple really, the smaller the pub the closer the cooler is to the tap. Much colder and creamier pint. Big pub the the cooler is 5 meters away so more will sit in the pipes between pours. That's why you always get the best pints in the small pubs :)

    I’ve heard that’s the only pub that increases their prices at night time, never been there, but I’ve heard people say it’s 6.90 in the day & 7.20 at night. That’s highway robbery paying 7.20, good reason for hate it just for that to increase your price depending on the time of day you’re in
