You may have escaped more than you realize! Predators don't like victims to have anyone know about their involvement with them. Visitors to a new place are easier prey and difficult to trace back to the perpetrator. That may have been the real reason why he freaked out about your brother knowing. I always tell anyone I am going to meet for the first time, casually, that a friend knows about it or really liked their picture. A couple times they suddenly backed out right after I said it.
Smart move. I tell my best friends where I go to make sure they can find my body and hunt down the perpetrators with crossbows and torches, in case things go down that way. So far so good.

Danger Danger, that is what I was feeling when he sent those extra text messages. I am glad that you didn't go on another date and that your red flags warned you off. I hope that the time you spent with your brother was fun. You never really talk about your family in today's time. It is nice that your brother is all accepting. It is so great to see someone like this who doesn't try to put up the stereotypical Gay attitude, and behaves like any other normal guy. He is not trying too hard to act in a certain way like most gay guys do after they come out of the closet. I feel that some gay guys try to appear more quirky and polished, there's almost an artificiality about their behavior. This Guy is nothing like that and that what makes him super cool.
A lot of gay people are naturally feminine, some (like the youtubers) act extra on purpose to entertain. Tyler Oakley is an example of this and I find him really annoying

Closets are exactly the same thing same thing they were in our childhood: you go in there and find something, or I guess someone, to have an enjoyable time with; but, at the end of the night, it's still a closet and eventually someone's gotta put away the toys.
Dated men in the closet before; not fun at all. I don't want to be pushed back inside when I'm already out. Haha! Glad that you at least had a fun experience on your date with him. Most of the closeted guys I dated were like super self-conscious and boring. If you've got more stories to share, I'll be waiting.

It is nice that you didn't make a big deal of it. Closet dwellers can be very skittish and awkward. I hope that he seeks out videos online to learn better dating etiquette:
1. If you ask the other person out, you pay unless there is a prior arrangement.
2. If you decide what the other person is having, you pay.
3. Distractions (like the game) should not be part of the date unless it was decided ahead of time that you would be enjoying the game together.
4. PDA (even hugging) is not okay on the first date unless it is agreed upon.
5. Text responses are not mandatory, especially after a first date.
6. If it is on the DL, it should be mentioned early on the date.
7. Anger is not a good emotional response if you expect a second date.
8. If someone ditches you to hang out with their brother instead of going home with you, it probably isn't a match.
Andrew, You seem like a really, sweet guy. I enjoy your out and about videos so much; they are fun and upbeat! Truth is, you could read the ingredients off the back of cleanser can and still make it interesting. Do you think it wise to share so much of your personal life with us? I mean, have any of us earned the right to hear YOUR story? I'd hate to think anyone would make light of your experiences and hurt you in the process. I’m 65. This is what i hate about what i hear about these dating apps.
In the old days you met a guy in a bar/disco and within about 10 min you had a pretty good idea if things were cool and you’d go with eachother.
If not you just had the rest of the evening having a good time and meeting others. Now you need to go through a whole process of going out, checking that guy and being checked, bar, restaurant, eating, excuses, and …. i understand it many times leads to nothing. What a waste.

This shows the many problems of being someone or dating someone who is still in the closet. I pity this guy and I hope he has since got to a point where he is able to come out. It's never easy but I don't know anyone who has regretted doing it. It was the best thing I ever did.

Honestly, if you are looking for someone, you are better off looking in your area for people who have the same interests as you, Many times they have running clubs. bike clubs. Their are all types of interesting things going on in most areas people live. By going to these events. you find people who have a common interest right from the beginning.
You can also meet people through socials.
The main thing is to find people you can connect with, and who share your interests. In other words, you get what you go after. If people just use those sites, many just want a quick hookup, If you're looking for a relationship, that may not be the best route.

Two things...
1) If somebody decides to take the lead and order, they are in a way acing as the host of the meal and naturally should pay. If I invited someone out, and decided to order for them I would pay.
2) It doesn't make sense that the guy wanted to put his arm around you in public and then freak out about being outed.
