My straight friend asked me to have sex with him, I told him sign in blood that our relationship would not change even if it never happened again. With that he asked where do I sign? That was over 20 years ago and it never happened again and we are still friends. Neither of us regretted that night.

I was in love with my high school best friend. Straight of course. He was a football player, 6'4", gorgeous. We shared a deep connection that is difficult to put to words. Like your story we also bonded over video games, anime, etc, but we would spend nights together talking and bearing our souls until we passed out. I'm Bi. I'm sexually attracted to both male or female. I must have half a dozen guy friends that I am "good" friends with for years....but, I have 3 guys I am very very close with. As close as you can get without kissing and "touching" the merch. We share our deepest thoughts, desires, fears, and passion. There's no topic off limits. We have held the other, cried in each other's arms, held the other through the really tough times (not all together, they "know of" each other, but are MY friends), and well, just be there for the other no matter what. There's nothing better than the love of a friend who sees you, knows you, and is so attuned to you that they will sacrifice their own time and wealth to make themselves available for you / and vice versa! In some cases, I feel there is a bond there that I don't even have with my spouse!

Today, my best friend from childhood is the closest guy I've ever had a connection with....dare I say, the closest PERSON I've ever been to. Nothing sexual, ever. Closer than my brothers. Closer than my son. Closer than my Mom. Closer than my wife. I would give anything for that guy since we were 15.
We have the capacity to love many. No less love for my other friends, family, and spouse. Honestly, I wish others could experience this kind of bond with someone. The trust, the loyalty, and the affection is so hard to describe. It is warm, encompassing, a little nostalgic, and just so joyful to know that he's always there and always my best friend. It makes me cry. One day, I hope I go first because I don't know what I will do if he does. I will lose my mind, I think. I will truly lose my soulmate.

When I was at high school in the UK I fell for a boy in my class, we were thirteen, but he was, and remained, the Alpha of our age group. He was always so kind to me and would smile whenever he caught me looking at him. His hovering pack of sycophants didn't like me but he made sure I was left alone, I was a very skinny, uncoordinated and sports hating total nerd, but he, as I said, was always kind and would talk to me and spend some time with me when nobody else would. Obviously I could never tell him how I felt, it was the seventies and homosexuality was still illegal in the UK, but I think he knew. To this day, I am 54, I have never loved anyone else. I have had some boyfriends but never got past deep affection. So I am still in love with that teenage boy(Gary) and furious at my teenage self for not having told him. When I was 16 I moved to Australia and I never saw him again.

I had a crush on one of my childhood best friends and started pursuing him after we grew up. The most memorable "gay moments" for me was of course the xxx, and the time we went to a gay bar together and danced together, and the day he eventually told me: "I'm not gay. But if I was, I would only want to be with you." After he told me that, I stopped pursuing him. I realized he loved me and that meant everything to me. So, in my other life long before coming out I had several friends like this that you talk about. I remember one I thought was going to come over to tell me he was coming out , but it ended up he was only looking for advice about changing schools. Glad to help and off he went . you know what? I felt really identified with the story and I think that in real life there are tons of straight guys that at least once they have a gay experience.
I had two friends that I made out with, one of the is now married and the other one is about to be married too and I know for sure they would never feel something romantic with another man however I guess they were curious at the time and they exerienced with me.

Two middle-aged guys doing stuff together always kind of puts people on alert, whether they even know we're gay or not.
Andrew I totally relate to your beautiful story about your relationship with a straight friend. The only difference is that I came on to him first. 20 years ago yes 20 years ago. Our relationship lasted about 3 years we were 18 years old very young. He lived 3 hours away n we only saw each other in the summer cuz his family had a house on the beach in Maine. Anyway my relationship with him dissolved over the years and I never stop thinking about him. Should I just let this go? I respect you and love your life stories. I wonder if after 20 years does he think about me at all??

I had a number of straight friends/roomates in college, and many of them were comfortable with me being physical (but not sexual) with them. And I always felt very privileged to be a person they could do that with. I was a Reiki channel and I often Reikied my various roomies on their shoulders while they worked on their computers or played on them. They loved the physical contact, as did I, but it was never weird or invasive. Just calm and peaceful. I think they always knew that I could be trusted not to cross boundaries or do aggressive things. We gay folk are gentle and meek and I think people notice and appreciate that.
Anywho, please don't turn into that person who is totally against labels and categories. And why? Because labels and categories are important for setting expectations in life. If people in your life think you're straight they'll assume and expect you to follow a heteronormic script for your life - you know, have 2.3 children, 3.6 gerbils, a wife, live in a white-picket-fenced house and love football. But, if they know you're gay then they won't have those expectations and will let you follow your own course. Proper, appropriate and honest labels are actually liberating because they let you know where you stand in life and they melt away confusion.
In my experience it's bisexuals who like the whole "no labels" thing, and why? I believe it's because they don't want to come out (and face the fear and terror that coming out engenders) and if they don't have a label then they're safer than us gay folk who sort of have to come out in order to be happy. I believe that the no labels movement is simply afraid of coming out and want to have their cake and eat it too!

Yes, and here’s the story.
So, it was a couple months back where I came out just a couple weeks before. And everybody I told was just like “ok”. And there was this boy I liked (let’s call home Tyler), But the problem was: he had a girlfriend. So we started hanging out a lot and got really close. Then his girlfriend went out of town for a couple weeks. So that’s when we started hanging out way more than normal. Then, for some reason, I started getting feeling for him. So like a week later, his family was going on vacation, and sense he said “This place that we are going to is so boring and I have nothing to do.” So I thought that he could ask his parents to see if one of his friends could come this time and they said yes. So we get there and we start setting pranks on each other and things like that. And a couple nights in (I think like the 3rd or 4th) I go to to his room to say goodnight. (The house was really pretty big so we both got our own room and everyone else was asleep) But then he said “Come here” so I did thinking that all was fine. It was, for the most part. He told me to lay down and that we are going to watch a movie. So I laid down, but he didn’t turn the movie on, he started touching me on my you-know-what. And I was thinking to myself “What the hell is he doing? He has a girlfriend!” But then I then I sat there, shook, quaking, not knowing what to do, until he put my hand on his you-know-what. Then we started playing with each other. And we got 100% naked. And oh my god was he hot! Then, he leaned over and started sucking me. Then started sucking him. Then when it was time, we blew our loads and cleaned it up off each other (that part was amazing!) So that night I slept with him naked. And we started doing it every night.
A couple days later he came out to his parent and now we are dating. The good thing was, his “girlfriend” was understanding.
Mind you, we are in 8th grade.

I recently had a 2 hour hook up with a "straight" guy from the gym. We did everything. Afterwards, he said he felt weird and I haven't heard from him since. He's 22 and this is his hometown where everyone knows him. He lives with his folks while going to school. He kissed very passionately and seemed to be enjoying the experience. After he climaxed, his mood shifted. I'm not sure if he's really straight or just deeply closeted. I've seen him at the gym for years.
