Unfortunately our system does not make it financially viable to be in a relationship either. This is why, though I'm not married, have no children of my own, I have my own home, own car and full time job, no women are interested in having a relationship. This is because though they get little benefits as single parents, they would get even less if they got into a relationship. I know plenty of local single mums that as much as they are currently struggling financially, they openly say they will never enter a relationship because of the money they would loose. I know some single mums locally that though they struggle financially, they still get more money's worth in welfare and then other benefits such as housing benefit, council tax discount etc combined than what I get as a wage working full time for £28k per year but then have to pay full everything like mortgage. Working does not pay enough in many cases and so people are trapped into a life of benefits to start with. An example of this is £28k per year in my northern town is a high wage but after all my bills I can't afford many luxuries and yet the woman who lives next door to myself that doesn't work has at least two foreign holidays per year and a top of the range BMW.
I'm not complaining about low birth rates. Pay attention. I believe people should take care of themselves in their old age. Not to have kids to take care of them. That's selfish.@@dorino9057
Takeaway from this video: Don't have kids ladies, stay single and childfree and you'll be alright financially. Don't give any man the opportunity to leave you holding the baby! Studies show that marriage makes men happier and women less happy.
@@kevincowan2639 Because if your rent is more than half wage, or more how do you save for a deposit ? Common sense people battle with this issue. Most people live from month to month even with two wages coming in, we needed help with our deposit from family and the help to buy scheam.
Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.
I think I could really use more guidance to navigate the market, it is completely overwhelming, I've liquidated most of my assets and I could really use some advice on what best to invest into.
Your best option if you are unfamiliar with the markets is to seek advice or help from a consultant or investing coach. I know it sounds simple or generic, but talking to a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and increase my portfolio to roughly 65% since January. For me, it's the best method to enter the market right now.
@James Cooper My consultant is Amanda Katherine Leff I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and reached out to her afterwards. She has since provide entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. You can look her up online if you care supervision. I basically follow her trade pattern and haven't regretted doing so.
I have found the cost of utility bills crippling and trying to run a car. The government should be doing more to help people. The other issue is that prices will never fall, so we are all waiting for wages to catch up.
I know several female single parents who works full time just like me but get more money than me every month by a significant degree via benefits. The cost of living crisis has nothing to do with sexism. It's to do with governmentel greed and corruption.
No, it's due to lazy single mums who expect the taxpayer to fund their lifestyle rather than the kids' fathers. It's too easy nowadays to blame the government for your own, self-inflicted problems.
I'm a single parent who works full-time and I'm not entitled to housing benefit due to my earnings. I get child benefit payment of approx £80 each month and about £600 of my son's £1,400 per month nursery fees reimbursed. And joining the wait list for a council property would be futile so I pay my £1,250 rent every month and budget whatever money is left for the remainder of the month. If my son doesn't attend nursery, then I can't work. Facts. If I didn't work, then I would be destitute living on Uninversal Credit. So please don't think being a single mother means you get more, because in my case, I don't.
I think its disgusting how people who live in this country are treated soo badly and have to use food banks just to get by yet this issue has been going on for years and as time goes by it only seems to be getting worse yet not mentioned much in the government announcements I feel are voices are not being listen to or heard and i think it's disgusting

It’s a complex issue and I wouldn’t label people as uneducated on the effects of having children. Sometimes ppl experience dramatic life events that change the course of their life which you can’t predict. And remember that it may seem sensible on a personal choice level, but the macro view is different. There aren’t enough children being born as it is. So, the resolution isn’t for ppl to just stop reproducing. The system is set up to exploit workforce for peanuts. We’re headed for a population collapse by the end of the century. Telling people to be ‘wiser’ about it means you’ll need to work way longer than you think because there will be very few working age people (relatively) to support your retirement. Double edged sword if you will.
I agree according to you Mr Tobias the value of a person lies in their education, I would strongly disagree. In fact lots of "uneducated people" are very reliable and help a lot to keep the societys values in place unlike people that have enough so they forget what it is to be a human
It doesnt have to be expensive, it is expensive for those used to a luxurious lifestyle, which most of us are, even many from the east. This is why those from a less-luxurious background are more often able to live with 8 children, in the west, and survive
im from europe, my mother was single mom of 3, never got any help from our father, she worked 3 different jobs to pay for everything and feed us. but never i remember her complaining even we were very poor.
The wording of the title makes it seem as if inflation is gendered and mainly discriminates women, rather it's just that more women are victims of a pain that is equal to all of us. It's harder for everyone.
So only the rich should be able to have children? Everyone should have the opportunity to have children; to have kids is to be alive, it is very much a right as a living and breathing entity. Don't you think that instead of advising poor people to not have kids, we should be trying to improve living standards such that they can? To dismiss these people as "selfish" for having the desire to raise children of their own is disgusting and you really should try to gain a bit more perspective before casting your judgement on others so harshly. The act of having children is anything but selfish, in my opinion. Part of the reason we're in this situation is people in places of great power who share your warped mindset.
Form a solid married relationship before having kids, rather than taking the kids away from the fathers and complaining they don’t have an income and have to rely on the taxpayers.

@Tracchofyre it shouldn't be like this but shes right...every government now and in history is capable of collapse for any reason and when that happens people have to do what humans have had to do for thousands of years to survive. Its a bit bleak to call it sexist. I think the breakdown of the family structure is what women suffer the most from. These women are not in poverty simply BECAUSE they are women its because they are single mothers. Which make up atleast 70% of the economy. 50 years ago, almost every mother was a married woman with support from her husband. Now, the popularity and social expectation of marriage has fallen dramatically low in modern society and its women that suffer from it because they are the ones left to raise the children alone.

Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.

The problem is people being vastly uneducated on the effect having children has on you financially and how it effects future opportunities
