Hi everyone! I'm so happy so many of you are enjoying this design!😄 There seems to be a recurring topic on here about the "open style bail", and I just wanted to let you guys know that if you're using 2x 20g wires, it should be strong enough for a small pendant like this, HOWEVER if you prefer a closed bail, here are some options for you: 1. After forming the chain loop (aka the bail) you can wrap the wire across the front of the loop and back around to the back. You're wrapping the twisted wire around so you're closing the bail. 2.You can use the leftover weaving wire (the thinner wire) to secure the bail 3. You can watch my UPDATED VIDEO! Yay! 🥳After filming this tutorial, I came up with a different way to do this design which involves creating the bail towards the beginning of the design, thus creating a completely closed and secure bail. Here's the video: th-cam.com/video/KTUq7YfEwEs/w-d-xo.html Happy crafting everyone! 💜 Abbey
Cute design. Thanks for sharing. Tip: using the excess wires on the bail to secure both the bail and frame to the back wire could help to stabilize the design further.
Rather than having an open bail, can’t you make the loop, then feed the 2 (untwisted) wire ends under the braided part of anchor them and the loop? That way no second wire is needed.
Hi Deborah! After I made this tutorial I actually found a faster and easier way to make this design (this happens so much in wire wrapping haha) but I still decided to keep both tutorials up just in case people would like to see both versions. Your way sounds awesome too and that's what I love so much about this art, is that we're always learning! Feel free to check out the newer version of the tutorial on my channel to see if it inspires you! 💙
I wonder if you could take the two wires and put them in a pin vise together and twist. Saving your arms and hands in that first twisty step. Or a rotary tool with a chuck that could grip the two wires together and on low speed twist. Just a thought
love this! could you do a design using a briolette? I would love to be able to incorporate something like this into my freeform designs! thanks for sharing 😊
I’ll give it a shot and see! I think you would need to create the frame and then attach the briolette afterwards using a thinner wire (nothing thinner than 26g though) 💖
This is a beautiful technique , thank you for sharing 💗👏🏻😊 I wanted to ask about the bail. Will it stay in place without being secured? I am afraid the chain would end up slipping out of the opening.
Thank you so much! If you’re using a doubled 22g wire for an 8mm bead, the pendant should be lightweight enough to hold on an 18” necklace, but if youou want to wear it on a long chain, you may want to wrap the weaving wire around it. After filming this I actually came up with a different way of doing the design with a closed bail and without using the weaving wire, so I’ll be sharing that in a new video this week! 💖
Hmm you shouldn't need to, but if you really want to secure the twisted wire a bit more, you could wrap a small piece of weaving wire around the bottom of the single wire on the backside, then wrap it around the twisted wire at the base of the pendant on the front. If you're still having trouble getting it just right, you can use glue--whatever helps you bring your creations to life 😊💖
Thank you! I've never had a problem with open bails with lightweight pendants but you can always wrap the wire around if you prefer--it just changes the appearance a bit. I also have another version of this design with a closed bail in my videos 💙
Do you have examples of wiring up beads with no holes, I have some heart shapes 20mmx20mm and some pear shaped ones with no holes, company I bought them from did not advertise them as "no holes" and asking was futile so I just went ahead and bought them, hoping they'd have holes, so disappointment all round luckily they weren't expensive so I'm looking for wiring examples that I could use on these holeless ones. Thanks M
These are such small, lightweight pendants that I don't find any risk but I did create a second version of this tutorial with a fully closed bail. It's def worth a watch, that way you can decide which version works best for you! 😀 💕
I've never had any issues personally with this style of bail, especially with lightweight jewelry. If you're using 2x 20g wires, the wires have been working hardened with the twisting and have more strength than a 18g wire at this point. However, if you're worried about it, make sure to check out the other video where I've solved this potential problem! 😄💙 I've linked it in the video and in the details. Happy crafting!
Thank you so much! Unfortunately the shop that used to sell the chain on Etsy has closed down but I stayed in contact with the owner who special orders it for me in bulk 💙
Thank you so much! It is in this design, but I actually just came up with a different technique that has a closed bail so I’ll be adding that version this week!💜
Many people have mentioned their concern about this but if you're using two 20g twisted wires, it won't--it's strong enough to hold. Feel free to check out the updated version of this design if you prefer a different style bail! 😄💖
I've used them for twisting square wire and I've been meaning to give it a try using 2 wires like in this design, but have too many projects going on. Have you tried it yet? If so let us know! I'm sure everyone's wrists would be happy to hear that it works haha 🤣😄💖
lol I think you’re the first negative comment I’ve seen on this.. this was one of my first tutorials so I’m sure it’s not perfect but I honestly don’t understand your complaint- what do you mean by the wire isn’t even? 🧐

Thank you so much for sharing this awesome tip! 😄💖
Or it could be a spinner. I like fidget pieces.
How about a pair of earrings to go with it.
ageed, covering the rough end of the bail will finish the piece.

Thank you for sharing this design I will try this is beautiful 😮❤
Thank you so much!
Thanks for your tutorial. This technique will work really well with some natural stones I have. I like the pear shaped stone especially.
Thank you so much! I’m so happy you like it!💜

Very cute
Thank you so much! 💜
VERY GOOD TUTORIAL
This means the world to me! Thank you! 💙
Muy fácil bien explicado y muy fácil 🎉 gracias
Thank you so much!! 💖
I tried this and it turned out great! Just a tip, it looks better with solid colored beads then with clear beads😅
Aww yeah, being able to see the wire through the center of a clear bead can really throw off the design! Great tip! 💡 💜
@@abbeyroadcreations I found that if you use a faceted bead you barely notice it! It's been great for my glass crystal beads

Hi, I've never made jewelry before and would love to try it..I was wondering if you could use glue to secure the wire onto the stone?
Hmm you shouldn't need to, but if you really want to secure the twisted wire a bit more, you could wrap a small piece of weaving wire around the bottom of the single wire on the backside, then wrap it around the twisted wire at the base of the pendant on the front. Very pretty, the sides look secure not the bail !

Good

I don't at the moment but I'm planning to get some more tutorials made this year with "no hole" crystals! 💙
in noticed the bell is still somewhat opened vs a complete secured circle, no problems with them coming off the chain/rope?
These are such small, lightweight pendants that I don't find any risk but I did create a second version of this tutorial with a fully closed bail. It's def worth a watch, that way you can decide which version works best for you! 😀 💕
@@abbeyroadcreations thank YOU so much!
Unfortunately that bail may catch and open easily. If attached to the long front twist it will be less of a risk losing your beautiful pendant💜
I've never had any issues personally with this style of bail, especially with lightweight jewelry. Hi. I love your tutorials! Where did you get the chain that matches the oxidize jewelry when you’re done?
Thank you so much! Unfortunately the shop that used to sell the chain on Etsy has closed down but I stayed in contact with the owner who special orders it for me in bulk 💙
What secures the bale?
?? You could thread a piece of the 28 Guage thru the bead and wrap the opposite side of the bail n back thru n wrap the top to keep it still.
That's an awesome idea, thank you so much for sharing! 💜
Absolutely love this technique!! Is the bail left open? Not sure I understood that part. Thanks!
Thank you so much! It is in this design, but I actually just came up with a different technique that has a closed bail so I’ll be adding that version this week!💜
where do you buy stone?
From lots of different shops! 😄 I always recommend spending time searching on sites like Etsy and Ebay if you don't have any local vendors 💙
The open bail will come apart when you add a chain to it. I would rather wrap the bail.
Many people have mentioned their concern about this but if you're using two 20g twisted wires, it won't--it's strong enough to hold. Feel free to check out the updated version of this design if you prefer a different style bail! 😄💖
Do you teach.
Sorry I don't understand this comment..
Why don't you just use a hand held wire Twister called a Penvise.
I've used them for twisting square wire and I've been meaning to give it a try using 2 wires like in this design, but have too many projects going on. Have you tried it yet? If so let us know! I'm sure everyone's wrists would be happy to hear that it works haha 🤣😄💖
Yes I use this Technique all the time making my wire wraped pendants
Not good. I have wire wrapped for years, but this is not a good tutorial. The wire is just not even. Thumbs down.
lol I think you’re the first negative comment I’ve seen on this.. this was one of my first tutorials so I’m sure it’s not perfect but I honestly don’t understand your complaint- what do you mean by the wire isn’t even? 🧐
