What bar will dethrone the current champion!? Tell Dr. Mike what to try next!!
Quest Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar
Grenade Oreo!
Next video: Testing the world's strongest underpants detergents.
metRX super cookie crunch is my favorite
The zone chocolate chip cookie dough! It tastes like the real deal.
Hmm kind of disappointing that you missed my favorite bar - snickers. At 30grams of protein for every ten servings, this should be on the list
9:03 not sure if that's the one
@@paulx7620lmao, pretty sure he meant regular snickers bars. Hence the “30g protein per 10 servings” part
@@paulx7620 Hey, your not alone. Initially i thought the same thing until my fog brain caught up to the math. Then I had a good laugh.
Got a box of them last week, awesome. The came from the UK. I’m thinking about getting the M&M version.
Don’t forget peanut M&Ms
Definitely gotta do more of this series, protein powder and pre workout are needed.
try all preworkouts in one vid. bro will have a heart attack
@@craigpointon8394 he can do that after the protein powder then ahahaha
Preworkout taste does not affect my decision of which one I buy. If it tastes horrible but has the effective dose and works well I'm dry-scooping.
Pre-workouts are a huge scam - better off just having coffee. Just my opinion, not here to argue.
@@chrism45 MPMD did a video on dry scooping, turns out pre workouts are formulated in such a way that they require water… who knew
Would love to see another round of testing including Quest bars.
Quest is good similar to pure protein
Quest gives me the runs. Depends on the person though from what I hear.
@@MikePSUyou lactose intolerant?
@@aidancoll919 It's probably because of all the sugar alcohols in it. I can't eat them either.
Quest sucks, the texture is terrible
Ayy glad you loved the Anabar! If you want a real "Fruity Cereal" bar I got you! If you want a box of every flavor just let me know & I'll hook it up!
They need to get rid of the hydrogenated oils man. Ridiculous that a protein bar of all things would have that as an ingredient
I was about to buy all the flavors until I saw the "hydrogenated oils" included
@@AntiwhitismIsJealousycry about it bro
@@samseguin3690 You okay bud? It's something that has a stigma around it for a reason. Then again, you're probably a bit lacking in the thought department aren't you Sammy
@@AntiwhitismIsJealousy I’m great man thanks for asking 🤗
The pure protein chocolate caramel bar straight out of the freezer is the 🐐
The peanut caramel is my go to…dont need it frozen.
frozen?
gotta have gains for messing with kids on among us vr, i guess
Dr. Mike's content is branching out so much, I'm worried that he's going to take over the world. Actually that sounds pretty good with the way things are going. You go Dr. Mike!

I'm glad I've started following Dr. Mike. I want back into workout and lifting.
I'd like to see videos of the best protein powders to use and such.
My favourite video on this channel so far 😂 as much as i love mikes academic pieces this tops them all
Hard to beat the Kirkland Brownie Protein Bar. Tastes great, awesome macros, and hard to beat a $1 a bar.
my go to bar
Same here, ate two on my way to Costco to get more
Agreed. That and the chocolate chip cookie dough flavor that’s boxed with the brownie flavor are my favorites. Microwave for 10 seconds and they’re phenomenal.
I find all protein bars tastes crappy, but for the macros and value, it's unbeatable.
Those make me shit hot lava
This is the Dr. Mike content we didn’t know we needed. Can’t wait for more like this!
Love your content man. Thanks
Great info AND hilarious to watch your reactions to some of those bars!😂
I frigging love this video. thank you for making it. Straight to the point with no bs 👍
Didnt think I needed this kind of content, but I do. More of this please!
The Musashi High Protein range is so far the best protein bar I've found in Australia (or anywhere). 330 calories for 45g of protein. None of the flavours taste amazing, but I find that protein bars that are too palatable are tempting to over-snack on. Only downside is the outrageous price unless you can find them discounted.
Yes, worth it if you're in a bind.
Quest bars taste great and have good macros, they're quite expensive though.
Definitely a good choice when I was in NZ, the only I regularly found that where eatable. And their electrolytes are great too
Absolutely agree. Keep one in my bag and desk draw at work when I get caught without a shake
We need more of these videos!!!:)
This was fantastic. Can't wait for the next episode.
How did i not know that there is a snickers protein bar? this is life-changing information
I can't find em in grocery stores in bulk, but I've seen them at 7-elevens randomly, they're good.
And now they even come with Dr. Mikes approval!
Had my first at a VirginiaBeach half marathon in 2010
i had one at a healthy planet (some chain "health" store) and all i remember is that my teeth hurt like hell after
Just do protein powder and then get yourself an actual snickers 💯
Pure Protein Chocolate Peanutbutter is my fav for sure. Glad you endorse them. Great macros, great flavor. Love it!
This is by far my favorite channel on youtube. Dr Mike never fails to get me laughing
The Barebells Soft Protein Bar series has changed the game for me now, because they are actually good good and not just "protein bar" good.
Fulfill Bars are similar.
I want to love them but the sugar alcohols suck.
Sweden is just on top when it comes to protein foods
I got a whole box of the soft caramel chocolate one and don't like it at all and caramel is my favorite thing. Tastes really artificial and chalky
Got way too much sugar alcohols which may not affect most ppl but me personally it wrecks my stomach
Great idea! I want to see Doc sampling one of every protein powder next! No water, that's cheating!!!!
The Iso 100 Fruity pebbles 👌
I have to see Dr. Mike choke down a scoop from every protien powder brand.
@@davidoberle9023 then do one drink of them all blended together at the end
@@yogi5482 with way less water than you should use.
@@davidoberle9023just remember, a dot is a lot, or, in this case, a drop.
Great vid sir
Hey Dr. Mike my pick for best tasting protein bar would be the red velvet power crunch. Needs less fat and more protein but the wafer texture reminds me of a Kit Kat candy bar. Thanks again for the entertaining videos!
this is so good of a video if you make every one of them in to shorts i think it will definitely atract a lot of people
I personally really like the MET-Rx Apple Pie and the Barebells Caramel Cashew. They tick all the boxes for me.
Metrx apple pie is too good. I end up eating half the box
Barebell Caramel Cashew for lyfe
You had me at Caramel, and then again at Cashew. I need to get this in me.
The peanut butter pretzel is my crack 😂
The apple pie one is probably the best protein bar of all time
Barebells are my favorite out of all of those. They scratch the Mars Bar/Milky Way-type candy itch really well. The Salty Peanut is particularly good.
Thank you for the review Dr. Isratel.
Still I would wish to know your opinion about important brands, such as Legion protein bar, Grande carb killa, Quest bar, Warrior...?
Definitely raising the bar with these videos!
Only James Cameron can raise the bar. Sadly, he couldn't save the OceanGate sub.
If you like rice crispy treats, the Vanilla Marshmallow protein crisp from BSN is almost identical. So delicious and a crunchy texture if you like that... With 18p, 24c (9f), 6f
Amazing and super informative video 💪😂
With Nick's love of Quest Hero Bars I'm a little sad they didn't get tested.
Complete BS!
🤢
my personal fav is the think! high protein bar - creamy peanut butter. they are pretty good with 20g protein and only 9 total fat.
First, you've definitely become my new favorite fitness TH-cam guy, hilarious and very knowledgeable, way to go! Second, been having stomach issues that my doctor thought I should try low FODMAP, so had to try a bar that worked and found THINK! High Protein Bars - Lemon Delight....I think they taste better than the Pure Protein bars that used to be my go-to. I'm curious as to what you have to say about it. But now that I can eat whatever the F*** I want, I'm definitely going to try the Snickers HIProtein and MetRX Big 100 Chocolate Brownie that you mentioned. Thanks!
I would love to see other "health snacks" get reviewed like this!
I legitimately love protien bars when bulking cutting or maintaining.
The Grenade protein bars are mostly OK, some great some meh, but the Oreo bar is to die for.
Was about to post this! They are expensive here in the EU though
They're my absolute fav.
The peanut nutter or caramel chaos are next level.
As grenade oreo flavored or oreo high protien?
grenade oreo is king. Put it in the microwave for like 10 seconds, you won't regret it
Great video!! Built Puffs are my favorite bars
Dr. Mike- you definitely need to try a battle bar. Get the red wrapper/plain one. They're like a chocolate covered rice krispies treat, they're right on par with Anabar in my opinion, which I also love. I'm definitely going to be trying a snickers protein bar, that's insane, I had no idea they got in the game.
Met-Rx Big 100 super cookie crunch is one of the best, imo. Good taste, tons of protein, solid macros.
Holy shit that's my fav one
My favorite bar of all time is Aldi's Elevation peanut butter and chocolate bar, tastes amazing. Been my go to for more than five years!
That zone fudge graham is my JAM when I'm on the road (supplemented with quest chips for more protein with little else). Not ideal to be eating super-processed foods, but the macros work out well and it's palatable.
My favorite that i have tried-Kirkland chocolate peanut butter chunk. Fantastic
No Quest bars?
Would love if a discussion about the ingredients was included! Fun video 😂
Defiantly
Or if he told us the calories
Pure Protein Lemon Cake is my current favorite protein bar. Gonna have to try the anabar and snickers.
more of this - this was great ...
Barebells... cookies & cream, hazelnut, and salty peanut are my staples. I'ma have to give the snickers a try though. Regular snickers are my kryptonite lol
I'd love to see your take on a few vegan bars. Clif Builder Cookies and Cream, Aloha Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Barebells Plant-based, etc.
I absolutely love Clif bars, the Energy ones are the bomb. Misfits is also another brand that is absolutely spot on
nnnnnnnnope
Would be interesting to see him do another one with the Costco protien bars, and quest as well.
Nice Video..What is the brand and flavor best for diabetes persons please?
It would be nice if you showed the calories so we can compare the protien to calories ratio
Calories = 4 x P + 4 x C + 9 x F
I like Barebells a lot. Great macros, tastes good by itself, and it pairs really well with greek yogurt.
Agree 100%, plus the calories are very reasonable.
@@chrisburton3571 for sure. 20 G’s of protein in a 200 calorie bar is about as good as it gets.
My favorite will always be Detour Lean Muscle. They're out of stock now on Amazon; unfortunate, but they definitely left me with a big... impression. :)
Kirkland protein bars from Costco. Three of the 4 flavors are really good. They are Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Brownie and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk. The fourth is Cookies and Cream. The first two come together on one package and the last two come together. You get twenty bars for $20. 10 of each bar in each box. Macros are great. 21 grams protein/22 grams carbs/7 grams fat per bar.
Barebells are awesome and I was surprised when the snickers bar had better macros than everything else at the convenience store
I really like quest products. Their protein brownie bars are great, chips are great, and cookies are great. BSN also make great protein crisps.
They are also pretty expensive. Comments here suggest Kirkland bars, which are much cheaper and have similar macros; they even have the same use of milk protein.
Quest is also a single layer product that does not melt! You can take them camping, leave them in the glovebox, etc.; the worst that will happen is they will stick to the wrapper a bit more. I always use them for serious travel because of this.
@@salvadorromero9712 I used to buy Kirkland often because of its cheapness. But found taste average. I usually buy quest or BSN bars when they are on sale and stock up.
Quest bars are gross to me but I like their spicy chips and their Oreos a lot.
nah the ones i had were moist af you mighta just got unlucky @JoeMama-uv3ee
So far my favorite protein bar is PowerCrunch. It may not have the highest protein content but it has a texture unlike any other protein bar that I have ever tried.
Honestly, the best so far for me have been the CICO bar double chocolate and several of the Anabars. Greg and Remington are just so on point with taste, shoot the only thing Greg's lacks is on texture; and that isn't to say that its bad, I like how it is dense and chewy, but it also sticky and tends to gum up my mouth. Chef's Irvin's Fit Crunch is definitely up there too, but I refuse to eat them because sugar alcohol causes me to bloat badly within an hour of eating them.
My go to lately is the Built bar, or the Built puff bar. Built puff coconut is amazing
Amazing, right? - Dr. Mike
@@RenaissancePeriodization for a protein bar? Yes, sir.
i regularly eat the XXL Nutrition 50% protein bar chocolate flavor. Taste is not so great, but 25P 10.5C 5.5F and just 178kcal is hard to beat for such a low price.
quest bars.... so good! especially the new dipped ones and the new crunchy ones
Barebells cookies and cream and/or creamy crisp. Goated bars. Bought a box of each from Amazon and have 1 a day. They’re perfect for a small treat. They stave off my sugar cravings too.
Surprised I haven’t seen anyone on here comment about Marc’s Outright bar. The macros could be a little better, more protein. But the flavors are almost all really solid and pair well with a shake to add a little solid food to fill in a gap.
I'm looking forward to trying your top two here, but I can't believe the Clif Builders bars (not regular Clif bars) weren't part of your sampling. I used to be a Pure Protein guy until I had one of these beauties. Chocolate Mint flavor is my fave.
Cliff builders are pretty dope not gonna lie
You can't bear Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe on macros and price though considering it's 21g and 180cals and sub $1.50 per bar. As a benefit, I don't over eat it because I don't really care for chocolate 😂.
@@TheAsheybabe89 Just checked my prices, and Builders are $1.50 per bar too, and they leave me feeling fuller.
Clif Builders have been good for a long time, but there are better now.
@@WolfgerSilberbaer yeah.. but a Cliff Builder is soy protein and nearly 300 cals for 20g of protein, making it less optimal for a lot of us that want as many G of protein per calorie as possible, and preferably whey protein.. But the extra carbs in the Cliff does make sense if you're looking to feel more full. Different goals I suppose
Hilarious...and informative. Thank you for this fantastic review.
The OutRight Bar (multiple flavors) is one of my favorites for sure. Though, I've had many friends and family try it and have gotten mixed reviews.
I think the best bar (macro and price wise) is the Kirklands bars. The best flavor is brownie.
Built protein bars are decent macro wise too, but they are marshmallowly.
I don't like the regular Built bars, but I love some of the Built PUFF bars, especially the Coconut Marshmallow. Pretty good macros.
I've never had the Snickers protein bar, but I definitely agree that the Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe is REALLY good.
Had the pleasure of trying a Snickers hi-protein overseas, it really is that good. Tastes like it BELONGS in candy bar isle lol
What do you think of the THINK! chocolate fudge protein bar?
Bomb
Dr Mike, wonder what you would think of bars made by Musashi (fairly common brand we see here in Australia and New Zealand). I just ate one of their High Protein Dark Choc Salted Caramel ones as a snack after lifting today. Macros wise for this flavour in each 90g serving (330 Cal), 45.7g protein, 8.1g fat (4.7g saturated), 1.3g carbs (0.5g sugars).
I very rarely eat protein bars, or supplement protein at all really, but my go to is always Quest.
One I really like is the ‘Power Crunch’ bars, they have a lot of protein, and hide it in a crispy wafer, so it does not have that nasty mealy texture so many other protein bars have.
Macros are lowkey shit
Love Anabar. Would have loved to see you try Grenade Bars from the UK, too
I've been addicted to the Anabar for months now. Absolutely delicious!
Let’s GOOOoooooo
The Barebells hazelnut slappppps it’s my favorite protein bar period, and I am relatively averse to protein bars in general.
I haven't had that one but the Caramel Cashew one is amazing.
And they digest quite well compared to others, they're really good.
@@JR-pt8oz i might try it then. been avoiding protein bars cuz they always mess with my digestive system.
@@fireblade9781 I'd still never recommend protein bars for regular consumption, I just see them as a good tool for those times where you may spend many hours away and you need a decent snack tbh
@@JR-pt8ozdigest well? Lol what's wrong with your stomach that such a consideration is a metric for you 😂. I probably eat 5 pure protein bars per day (always between 3-6) for several years and have never had any issues.
Great video, like always. Next time include some of my favorites, bulk protein bar (pistachio and white chocolate), is great. You should try in one video with European brands, there are a lot and high quality
Also, the brand Maxi Nutrition has the best bars! The Creamy Core Blubery muffin or any flavour really are amazing
I really like the Built Puff, much more than the normal built bar. Its like a flavored marshmallow covered in chocolate. It is smaller than the calorically comparable bars though
I always end up eating 2 for that reason - churro followed by brownie batter.

Can't believe you didn't even try ANY grenade carb killa. Especially salted caramel chocolate chip is AMAZING as well as birthday cake
Hands down Grenade Carb Killa Salted Caramel is King! VERY good and can even eat it daily without it getting boring like most other flavors and bars.
@@coldshivery yup, completely agree with you. It's hands down my favourite protein bar of any brand and type. So damn delicious and almost doesn't even taste like a protein bar
There is (or was) a cookies n cream Fit Crunch bar that was phenomenally good but i haven't been able to find it in years. Supreme Protein also had a peanut butter and jelly bar that was really good
Love Atlas bars, they're on their 3rd revision and have some great flavors (coconut almond, peanut butter choc, peanut butter raspberry). Please cover in next update.
Quest chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate peanut butter are my go-to bars. Delicious and cheap.
I just use the pure protein bars when I care more about calories, and the clif builders when I care less, they are more like a candy bar that has protein.
Not because they are the best bars... Just because they are amazingly cheap and good enough. Good old Costco.
Quest Bars have been my go to lately
I love the built coconut puff bars there are kinda weird they have an almost marshmallowy middle but are yummy and macros are decent

A lot of the Pure Protein are "meh", but the salted caramel rules them all. It's insane how good they are especially for keeping to their same macro mix of 200cal max
It’s insane how good salted caramel is compared to the rest.
I genuinely enjoy the hell out of their peanut butter bar. I'll definitely need to give the brownie and salted caramel a try now.
Not sure if it’s only in the UK but Grenade’s protein products are all incredible. Their shakes taste as good as any non-protein shake and they have the best tasting bars with super good macros too
I think the single only downside is that for these pros they are definitely on the pricier side @ RRP for protein products
Fantastic bars, would definitely top this list
You can get them in Canada they are great but a bit pricey! The oreo one and the caramel one are my favorites
I love the Gatoraide pritien bar. So good.
Built Puff Mint Brownie protein bars are one of my favorite foods in general, and the macros are unbelievable
the irvine bars by itself are good but a bit underwhelming by itself cause you're not really eating that much - 2 bites and that shit is gone. But, crush it up and put it in some greek yogurt with some fruit and that shit is amazing and could easily get you 30g+ of protein.
Imma try this. Sounds good AF
Legendary also has cinnamon rolls and chocolate rolls plus a new blueberry flavor pop tart. All are best microwaved for 10 seconds.
Get them all the time. Sure goes a long ways to crush that sweet need that comes on. At one time on my dining room table I had every flavor of the pop tarts. Ate one daily for a snack till gone. The cinnamon rolls are amazing as well.
