Having the earbuds case being able to plug into any headphone jack and then use that to transmit a wireless signal is a really cool feature that I think all wireless earbuds should have. Sometimes you want to use these with a device that doesn't support Bluetooth.
On price: Most people seem super shocked. For reference these are positioned to compete with other premium true wireless earbuds like the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3, Sony WF XM4, Galaxy Buds Pro 2, etc. which are all listed at a similar price. The price point is due to packing so much tech into such a tiny package. When you take into account how these have most features those other brands do PLUS low latency (they don't) PLUS dual stream mixing, it's a totally legit price point. If you want buds under $100 that have the low latency and can connect 2 devices at once (but not mix them), check out the new Soundcore P10 buds. Fair warning though: the P10s sound like cardboard compared to Waveform, and lack some of the nice features like ANC and wireless charging case.
$250 dollars can almost buy a whole switch! I wouldn't be investing that much into earbuds unless it was over the ear headphones and a heavy audiophile.
I like what I’m hearing about the features for these ear buds, but that price point is atrocious! Edit: If it was half the price then I would consider these, but there’s no way I would pay $250 for a set of ear buds.
I bought a set of these on Kickstarter, and I forgot that the price offered there wasn't the actual price. IMO, they're good *sounding* earphones, and they do have some cool features... at $199. But at $249... I wouldn't buy them. My biggest gripe is that you cannot customize the gestures on the earphones, which means I get frustrated every time I switch between those and my AirPod Pros. It's like switching between a Switch and a PS5 and realizing the confirm button is in a different place all the time. That said, I traveled recently and used the PS5 remote play app on my iPad and a PS5 controller. I used the USB-C out to the case and, man, it worked great.
Yes! We need more dongle based ear buds! I had to get a headset because the pickings are so slim as I want the low latency. Was concerned that you didn’t include the PC as a option for the direct connect mode, only Bluetooth, so that is unfortunate for these.
I have seen other earbuds that do this multi connect thing like the soundcore VR P10 that pretty much does the same thing even though they were kind of made with the quest 2 in mind it would work on a switch or PS5 and its also only $100 even though these earbuds are cool $250 is kind of a bit much for that when you can get a bit cheaper option and it might even have more features
Never heard of these before, but that pass through dongle will also work much better in handheld. Just needs a USB A to USB C adapter for docked play. The case also looks a little bigger, but there's no question it's much better value for the price. In fact, I would probably still choose the Soundcore over the Genki even if they were the same price.
FWIW, I have both. Soundcore P10 is a GREAT value, and the UX is very smooth and streamlined. But the sound quality DOES NOT COMPARE. P10 sounds hollow and cardboardy compared to the Genki Waveform. Other things you get with Waveform: - Wireless charging case - ANC and transparency mode - Dual-source MIXING. P10, in my experience, can connect to two sources but only plays one at a time
@@ReavoEnd the one at a time audio is really disappointing. Have you used it for voice chat from another source and in game audio at the same time? Cause it doesn't sound like that would be a great experience if it alternates the audio sources.
@@DizzyDiddy Yeah, sadly I couldn't use it in that scenario because it would mute the game audio entirely until the voice chat ended. Oh and, to comment on what you said about case size: P10 case size is smaller in most dimensions.
The dual connection if I'm understanding it right could be a huge benefit. Bluetooth audio on PC and mobile goes to crap for me when trying to hear audio (like listening to music) and use the call audio/microphone at the same time. I think I remember reading it was a bandwidth issue, but if this can overcome that limitation, I could see myself seriously considering these. That said, I'd mostly use them for better audio quality when on the treadmill and playing with the Switch docked on the TV, but if it can also fix PC and Phone issues, then that would be awesome!
another really good set of headphones are the steelseries arctis 3 wireless. they are so good as well. you can connect bluetooth to the phone and AUX to the switch. its great
Do you recommend these for Xbox series s and ps4 too? Don’t know much about this stuff but just trying to down size to one universal pair

Do you notice if there's zero latency when using this earbud? I just can't play Super Smash Bros with a wireless earbud because the (even small) latency bothers me a lot 😕
With its lower latency, is it fighting game friendly? Not necessarily at the esports level but does it perform better than apple airpods connected to the switch?
i would say that the soundcore p10 do everything these buds do better and for cheaper. the primary use case for buds is for on the go and the soundcore has a much smaller usbc dongle that fits in the case for low latency audio. also they're literally 70 bucks...
are there any cheaper options for tws that also does the dual audio thing? not talking about the multipoint thing where it will mute game audio to take a call.
Someone mentioned it in another comment, but the Soundcore VR P10 does it too and is overall probably a better option for only $99. You would need to get an additional dongle if you wanted to use dual audio in docked mode. Something that converts USB A to USB C. Those are very cheap and shouldn't be hard to come by though. The old Genki adapter had one too.
Do any more affordable alternatives to these exist yet? I've had little luck searching for any, so I suppose Genki has the market cornered here for now? The main function I'm after is the multistream feature. I imagine eventually we'll see some cheaper knockoffs pop up, and on my budget I'd have to consider those first.
Got me some JBL Bluetooth headphones that do the job. The only thing is the headphones aren't comfortable when laying down in a bed. Might have to look for another brand that has different earpiece sizes for under $100.
Question, does anyone know why my airpods pro are closed yet they connect to my Switch at random times despite being closed? Do these earbuds do that as well??
I was on board all the way until the price came up. $250 seems very high for me. But my perception on the matter is somewhat skewed. I have a higher than normal interest in headphones, and own multiple sets of proper over ear headphones. However, using them in modern life with the cable and USB C adapters and/or external DAC and amps is not ideal, and I concede that true wireless earbuds are simply better for most people. That being said, I do own a pair of earbuds and I have tried and looked at the specs on some others. My conclusion is that unless you go for something that is properly customizable to really get a proper fit on your ear, or with something on the very highend of earbuds, every single option on the earbud market are just *meh*. $250 for these just doesn't seem worth it. Specially since, if you have an iPhone, you should really go for the AirPods just for the ease of use alone. If you have an Android, you probably should just get whatever is the most comfortable to you. And if you are like me, you should probably never use your earbuds, decide that they suck, and go for bluetooh overear headphones for the same price, like the Boss QC45. They are less portable, but at least don't sound awful and get uncomfortable easily.
These headphones work really well in theory but they're pretty abysmal in practice: 1) Maybe it's my ears, but i've never been able to get a decent seal in my ears with any of the tips because of the way the buds are shaped. they simply do not work and i get sound in my ears all the time 1a) because of this, i'm constantly pushing higher volume into my ear to hear anything, which we already know is bad for your health. 2) Mose importantly, when you plug the headset into a USB source, the microphone switches to a microphone on the case, which completely defeats the purpose because you have to be within a foot of the case mic to sound audible (which is the best it gets) so you can't just play coop on your couch, the console and therefore the case is too far away. 3) The support is inexistent because the operation is so lean. the app for this thing is janky and they're slow to respond. it's a decent first try, bring these down to sub $200 and you might have a ringer for good eabuds for the price, but it's not that great.
I was like tell me more through out the whole video... until that price point was said at the end... XD Still pretty nice ear buds with a nice focus on the switch. Just too expensive man!
