The fan only cools the motor. Nothing to do with combustion air. The pto side (clutch) will be jetted slightly fatter and have an additional bearing to cope with the extra stress. Check your crankcase seals and make sure they are 100% otherwise tuning will be impossible. There are lots of vids on seal changing and testing.
i just had my air box off yesterday and there was no coil attached. I have the same machine as yours. Mine is 1998. what year is yours

I am fully aware that the fan blows air on the "outside" of the Cylinders
