I love how your new guy does those little things that makes your life better - without being showy about it (i.e. washing the dishes, opening up your car door, etc.). That stuff is just straight up romantic and sweet.
I’m not a teacher but I am a cafeteria manager and 1st and 2nd graders stress me out too. I’ve been in the same school for 35 years and am close to retiring. The government regulations are nuts. I feel for the teachers in today’s classrooms. I have a good working relationship with the staff I my school. Thank you for expressing the classroom struggles.

I think my high school students sustained brain damage during spring break. They forgot ALL the rules (hello? Put the CELL PHONE away!). They forgot what time school starts (1st and 2nd period were so late!). They forgot how to factor. They forgot their lunch. OMG. By the end of the day, I was convinced it was Thursday! Friday can't come soon enough.
OH. That's a Korean game! Or at least, I'd only ever seen Korean students play it, it's probably other places too. Cute that the kids in America are getting into it too!!!

As a fellow teacher, it looks like you are back into the normal and expected "craziness" of teaching where we love our students, miss them, enjoy them, but they get on our nerves at times😂😂😂. I can tell by the way you talk about them, and that's what I'm missing right now. I'm so ready to get back to this level of teaching normalcy because I'm so mentally traumatized right now and physically tired.
We go back to school on Tuesday, and I plan on having a review of "Can You Follow Directions" - where they have to READ EVERYTHING before they are supposed to do anything...Y'all already know how that's gonna go! 😁 Peace, love, and taco grease!!!
Funny! I learned shadow boxing a few years ago at my old school. One of my student at my new school learned it and was and I "boxed" him - he had no mercy. Darn shame how that boy keeps beating the breaks off me 😂
When I was para, one year our state board of Ed had the BRILLIANT idea of having the high stakes IREAD standardized test the day after the "spring forward" time change. Needless to say, scores tanked, and the higher ups just couldn't figure out why! 🙄

Yeah my child says she is so tired of the other kids being crazy and not listening so maybe I need to take it to home school ....
After all of these school shootings, I don't understand why every child isn't homeschooled.

When I taught in Germany ( DODDS) we had half a day off from students so the parents could come in for conferences. It was so much better!
