  • Bike Fit for Females is not really covered on TH-cam, so I took my wife Dani to visit Sian at UK Bike Fit for a full bike fit. We also got chatting about whether there's a difference between male and female bike fit and you might be surprised at the outcome.
There's good content here for men and women as we walk through bike fit tips that apply to everyone, we hope you enjoy it!

Sian did a great job there. You can tell that Dani's not a very experienced cyclist, but her position looked a whole lot more natural after Sian's bikefit.

Yep she did! The bike Dani had before was a town bike, so you can see that her natural position has been shaped a lot by that. But yea such a noticeable difference afterwards, even visually.

Loved the fit session but her bars are obviously too wide. She would be better with 38 or 36 cms wide bars.

There all done on trainers , which doesn t take into account the 3 rd law of Newton , action oppositecequal reaction , when you are on the road if you push the road push back modifiing youre position differently than when youre on a trainer

Those shoes are from QUOC and have cleats underneath 👍🏻

From the head on view on the laptop, the wrists are bent/extended and comparing the location of the hoods to the shoulders, it looks like the handlebars may be too wide. I think if you use a narrower bar that may help with the back /shoulder and allow you to lower the stem a bit more. The updated longer (60mm?) stem still seems pretty short and shorter stemsmay increase how fast the bike turns vs a traditional 80-100mm length and may make the bike feel a bit twitchy to a new rider. A workaround would be to use a 70mm stem and use a handlebar with a shorter reach as well like zipp ergo 70 handlebar. I think a stock Cannondale bar has 76mm reach. Lastly, seeing as a bike fit is to help a bike fit an individual not sure the sex of the rider makes a difference to the approach or not. Nice video though.

How is this different than a male bike fit? I don’t see it!

That’s the point, it’s not all that different, but the issue is that women are underrepresented in the industry and we need to normalise women in cycling as much as we’ve done with men. Cycling is for everyone and our content should aim to show that!
