A very timely tune to practice over a changing season and darker days ahead. You certainly know your way around those chord variations. Like the other comments you are certainly in a niche market with your advanced tutorials and such detailed tips for planning chord fingering ahead of the move. Brilliant, you’re a truly valued musician championing the wonderful rich sounds of the Baritone.
Very nice -- thanks Abigail. I had actually learned the chords by watching your video performance from last January. The only problem I have is with the Gm7 chord the song opens with. I can't really play the F and A# notes the way you do mashing both strings with one finger. I use my middle and ring finger. It's awkward but I've finally developed the muscle memory for the shape. I agree with Andrew's comment. It's difficult to find advanced baritone ukulele tutorials. It's very much a niche instrument. You might be the only one doing it. So keep doing it! I hope you enjoyed the summer gig. This year has been terrible for performing musicians, eh? I haven't played anywhere at all. First I had laryngitis for 6 months and couldn't sing at all, then when my voice finally recovered there were no venues. Here's hoping 2021 is different from 2020. In a good way. Ciao!

As for Gm7 shape, another thought might be to substitute a Gm6 or Gm9, depending on what works with the melody. So if Gm7 frets are 5766, Gm6 would be 5756. Gm9 would be 5765. In this case, I think the Gm6 could work! And yes, I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to perform and to feel/be safe while doing it. It was frankly uncomfortable because there’s always a risk when you travel, but I made it back home and tested negative for covid. I’m really grateful for all the performance experience I gained this month... but I’m very excited to be home!!
This was great, I'm only a hobby musician now, but I had classical training in voice & piano growing up so I enjoy finding my own arrangements & adapting songs in this way too. I have to usually because I have a limited range & often have to do my own transpositions using chords my arthritic fingers can manage!! I no longer care much for knowing music theory as I don't need it, but it's great to have some encouragement & tips & the example of a Woman with real talent (oh for the confidence of all the white middle aged men doing crappy tutorials on here 😄) Thank you and please keep them coming! Forgive my inexperience-when you say fingerpicking, do you mean specifically the right hand pattern while playing chords, or do you mean more broadly instrumental arrangements where you’re playing the chords and the melody? Right hand complexity is not my strong suit yet but I love asking other people to share their experience, so I could certainly have a guitarist friend do be “special guest” and talk about fingerpicking!
Abigail Flowers oops I was a little vague there i meant more broadly instrumental arrangements where you play the melody with the chords. But the fingerpicking patterns is also a good skill to know as well.
