    Amazing! All these years of playing rhythm guitar and wondering how those shredders did it and now I know. I can do that. I didn’t know I could do it, but I can. Thanks for sharing these tips. I yes, I am now a subscriber. Thanks again.

    Thank you! This was super helpful. I have been a bit confused in the past how to approach a solo. Off to give this a spin 😁

    So, when let's say I wanna jam to Somewhere over the rainbow
    Do I need to keep in mind the chord progression? Or just Jam to the Ab major key?
    I can do the song while strumming, never did it with scales

      @TenThumbsProductions  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are playing the song in Ab major you can just play the Ab major pentatonic and let it rip. Later on you will want to think about the notes in the scale and the chord progression a little more but what it so cool about the pentatonic scale is it takes out the two notes that are very unstable, you are left with 5 notes, 3 being stable and 2 being semi stable, meaning you really can't play a terrible note.
      In the future you do want to try and think of chord tones, meaning what notes are in the scale and the chords or the chord progression. That way you can articulate your solos more with the chord progression, a process some refer to as playing with the changes, but for the time being just let 'er rip and build up some muscle memory.

    I so enjoyed jamming along with the backing track Tyler. I'm starting to understand. Learn the scales. Thank you for explaining how to find the root note and use the scales from there. Awesome.

    Interesting concept. but a tad confusing. Would you do just one song in G with all the different shapes?

    • @TenThumbsProductions
      @TenThumbsProductions  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Check this out, it is E minor, the relative minor to G, in all five shapes th-cam.com/video/XqPH3cbrUgo/w-d-xo.html

    Funny as you were playing the G scale at first I was thinking that’s the Em pentatonic scale forgetting that was the relative minor lol.

    This works beautifully! I'm confused about one thing. I thought minor pentatonics dropped the 4th and 7th, but these are still dropping the 2nd and 6th like a major scale. Can someone explain that to me please.

    • @TenThumbsProductions
      @TenThumbsProductions  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Excellent question! The major pentatonic drops the 4th and the 7th the minor pentatonic drops the 2nd and the. 6th, I still end up using the 2nd a lot with the minor scale I also love to make that 6th a major interval and play Dorian with the minor scale. Thanks for the comment and support!
