  • This week covers the following topics:
4 cardinal sins, intoxicants, removal of Kes (hair), meat, fish, eggs & sexual relations outside of marriage. These are described in depth with differences in interpretation explained. Hukka, Hajamat, Haraam, Halalo - are four words used to describe these sins too. Committing these sins makes a Sikh an apostate, the Sikh is only forgiven after presenting themselves at an Amrit Sanchar (initiation ceremony) after which they must complete whatever punishment they are given. Atonement is only achieved upon completion of the prescribed punishment. This is a merciful process - differences in implementation are also discussed
