@e p Buddhism doesn't teach vegetarianism either. I dunno where you learned it from. And I've read vedas(hindu scripture) i don't see very specific order to be vegetarians. I always had one question what is the line of what to eat? Because plants dont talk or scream its okay? Plants are living beings too. They produce young kids too they communicate throrough electrical signals just like animals. Where's the line of what to eat?

@@gursheeshsingh9138 see if you think about it, plants do not have nerves, a brain, etc... therefore do not feel pain. Also, when you are eating an animal you are killing more plants. Because they feed plants & use a lot of land to raise the animals when humans could directly be eating the plants instead. So much damage is done to earth & the animals for meat, hence being vegetarian or vegan is the best.

Milk & its products are not veg. Water has fishes. Whatever you eat comes out as waste daily which is not veg. Humans are not born out of vegetables. Even plants have life. Sikhs eat chicken, Mutton, Goat & lamb meat. Sikhism is not perfect. They all drink, smoke, womanizing's & eat without any restrictions have seen everything myself in their daily lives. All evils can be seen in Sikhism.

I recently watched a video by a Sikh gentleman from TH-cam channel basics of Sikhism, he said in one of the main teaching given to Sikhs is compassion towards all. I think it's almost (is) impossible to be compassionate when killing an animal. We don't kill other humans and say it was the right thing to do, so why is it any different with an animal. No animal wants to die, every animal is conscious about their need to live, so taking away a life is not being compassionate. So with that logic Sikhs must choose a vegetarian diet if they want to follow Sikhism.

      Abu Amanah
A SIKH IS ONLY ALLOWED TO FOLLOW THE TEACHING FROM SRI GURU GRANT SHAHIB (SGGS)
Sikhism isn't Islam were you people follow the Quran, hadiths and sunnahs. One Muslim will tell me it's just the Quran you follow others will say differently. Let me make it perfectly clear, ONLY teachings in the Sri Guru Grant Shaib is acceptable any thing else is sacrilegious.
I find it highly offensive as a Muslim you are teaching others false information. But that's what you people do, you constantly want to find faults and prove that your religion is perfect but the problem is your mohamad was one of the most sinful men on this planet. He would rape women that he would enslave after winning wars. He would kiss boys penises, he had many, many wives, he married a little girl at 6 then raped her at 9.
So please don't teach others of their religion, teach people how awful and sickening Islam is. Thank you.

Ok then so I must believe the following...
      - Muhammad’s marriage to 6yr old Aisha-(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234 and 236).
      - Aisha cleans Muhammad’s semen stains-(Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 4, Number 229-233),
      - Muhammad fondling Aisha during her ‘Menses’- (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 6, Number 298-300, Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 1, Number 0270)
      - Muhammad liked to have intercourse with Aisha and his other wives when they were menstruating (Sahih Muslim, Book 003, Number 0577-0579),
      - He also loved to recite the Quran when his wives were in Menses while lying between their legs!-(Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 6, Number 296), (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 639)
      - Muhammad married his adopted Son’s wife called ‘Zaynab’ after lusting for her and then banned Adoption in Islam- (Surah 33:37,Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 305, Sahih Muslim, Book 008, Number 3330, Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 516,The History of Al-Tabari: The Victory of Islam, translated by Michael Fishbein, 1997], Volume VIII, pp. 2-3)
      - Muhammad having sex with his dead Aunt in the Grave-( “Kanz Al Umal” (The Treasure of the Workers, by Ali Ibn Husam Aldin, commonly known as Al-Mutaki Al-Hindi. He based his book on the hadiths and sayings listed in “Al-Jami Al-Saghir,” written by Jalal ul-Din Al-Suyuti.)
      - ‘I (Muhammad) put on her my shirt that she may wear the clothes of heaven, and I slept with her in her coffin (grave) that I may lessen the pressure of the grave. She was the best of Allah’s creatures to me after Abu Talib’… The prophet was referring to Fatima , the mother of Ali. “The Arabic word used here for slept is “Id’tajat,” and literally means “lay down” with her. It is often used to mean, “Lay down to have sex.”
      - Muhammad and the Quran sanctioned sex with your wives and ‘married’ slave girls-(Quran - 70:22-30, 23:5,6, 4:24, 33:50), - Muhammad speaks of sex with Slave Girls- (Sahih Bukhari - Volume 3, #432, Volume 9, #506, Volume 5, #637, Sahih Muslim, Volume 2, #3371)
      - Muhammad disagreed with ‘coitus interruptus’ with slave girls- he supported RAPE.
      - Muhammad forces a 17 yr old Jewish girl called Safiyyah to marry him and rapes her on the same day her husband and family are killed in the battle of Khaibar (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 522, Volume 1, Book 8, Number 367).
      - Al Tabari reported in his (‘The History of al-Tabari: The Victory of Islam’, Translated by Michael Fishbein) that even some of Muhammad’s wives and companions were shocked that he forced Safiyyah to marry him after beheading her husband, brother and father.

I've been thinking alot about this as well. I mean vegetables, plants have life too. They communicate woth each other using electrical signals just as mammals or fishes, so why eating them is right? I think it is a circle of life. We crush thousands of ants while walking on the streets everyday, how many of us mourn on that? And about what guru gobind singh said, go through the history and you'd know when he went to madaho das' home who became banda singh bahadur later, guru gobind singh jhatka goats there. And i mean Guru Nanak dev ji ate a deer in kurkshetra, there he recited the shabad" mas mas kr moorakh chagde, gyan dhyan nhi jaane" i.e. fools fight crying out meat meat but none of them understand knowledge and meditation. I mean even if you look around, I still wonder why plants are allowed to be cut , boiled and eaten just because they don't scream? It that the stopping line? Many people might laugh and be like what I'm talking about plants being cut and feeling pain. But As God created everything and plants are living beings too. Seeds that we eat are like kids of the plant. That plant produces to keep its family going just as humans and animals have kids. Why eating plants is right not eggs? Can please help me out with this delimma?

I believe that Gurumustuk makes a very valuable point: many of us have detached ourselves from the process of making food that we're not aware where the food comes from and how it was made. I am a meat-eating Sikh myself, and no matter what your diet is we should be aware of where our food is coming from.
Food is the fuel that drives the engine which is our bodies. From now on I am going to be more aware of where my food comes from.

I don't agree with the first thing he said. I stopped eating meat/fish over 10 years ago and it wasn't because I stopped wanting the taste of it, but simply because I came to the self-realisation that I didn't want to kill animals.

Sister, it is the kirpa of Waheguru that we were designed in a way that we are able to extract nutrients from many sources in times of want or desperation. But surely as children of the most Merciful, we ought to likewise show forth mercy. There is absolutely no need for us to eat meat; I've been vegetarian for 34 years and I'm in excellent health. He didn't made us omnivore, he made us vegetarian and then the flood happened and humanity had to survive and turned into carnivore, witch make us omnivore today. This is said in quite all religions, even Native Americans (my husband is Ojibway) talk about these floods who changed us. Now its time to be kind and compasisonate, it is not such a sacrifice to leave meat, if we aren't even able to do this in order to stop all this suffering how can we pretend to be worthy of Waheguru ?

@chaksheba Humankind has made the decision, for survival or whatever reasons, to eat meat, so are teeth have evolved, this is why we have canines. "Lucas argues that the mechanical process of chewing, combined with the physical properties of foods in the diet, will drive tooth, jaw, and body size, particularly in human evolution." So we have canine teeth because of evolution. If we over the years ate vegetarian we might not have had canines. I'm neither here nor there I'm just saying

Sikhism is totally neutral on eating meat, one does not get closer to God by being a vegetarian nor if he consumes meat. The focus is on controlling the five vices, being truthful, honest, remembering God, earning honestly, and giving back to the less fortunate. I recommend reading about Guru Nanakji’s travel to Kurukshetra and his discussion with the Pandeys. Page 1289-15 from Guru Granth Sahib (Maas Maas Kar Moorakh) explains further.

We as humans evolved eating meat, some say that's what gave us the large brain other apes don't have. As my father would say, "everything in moderation". I eat a small amount of either beef, lamb, chicken or fish, surrounded by various vegetables, on a daily basis. I am 66 years old, ideal weight for height (80 kilos on 185 cm frame), and enjoy what I consider "perfect health". Additionally, I married a young woman when I was 53 years old and have since sired two fine intelligent children, currently aged 6 and 8, we are spiritually in tune with life and each other. I can see no co-relation between consumption of meat and physical or spiritual health or lack of it. I implore people to look inside themselves for enlightenment, rather than shifting blame to certain foods for somehow altering your spirituality... well maybe except for McDonalds 😋
I understand concerns about animal welfare, but after having watched a pack of African Hunting Dogs eating an antelope alive, it occurred to me that humans methods of slaughter are indeed reasonably humane.

Also, halal simply means "that which is permissible/acceptable". For example, in the phrase: "Chu kar az hama heelte dargujasht, Halal ast burden ba shamsheer daste." (often cited about righteous to raise the sword as last means against an oppressor), notice the word "halal" here. Clearly "halal" is not meaning "muslim way of killing an animal". "Halal ast" simply means "is acceptable/permissible".

  • @intezamable
    @intezamable 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

halal means permissable (NOT RECOMMENDED), AND IT IS ONLY PERMISSABLE IF ONE LIVES A HOLY LIFE. THE ONE WHO LIFES A HOLY LIFE HONORS WHAT HE OR SHE EATS, AND WHAT HE OR SHE EATS ALSO HONORS HE OR SHE WHO LIFES A HOLY LIFE. THEN.....HALAL ALWAYS GOES TOGETHER WITH TAYYEB (GOOD) MEANING, IT MAYBE HALAL....BUT IS IT GOOD? ALLAH SAYS: BLOOD IS NOT FIT FOR YOUR CONSUMPTION....AND ONE CAN NEVER GET IT 100% OUT OF THE MEAT. NOT EATING IT ALLTOGETHER IS THE DEEN OF THE CAUTIOUS PPL. In todays age many things are not TAYYIB anymore incl milk and even veggie foods

i think intentional killings can't be justified by natural cycle. Lot of human loss also happening daily but that doesn't justify that there is no harm in killings. All gurudwaras offer vegetarian foods. Most of the Gursikhs are vegetarians. Some justify by using word Jhatka, but most(not all) of them take intoxicants/alcohol also. We can understand better, if we are treated like we behave with living beings. Guru ji has instructed us to do Naam Kamai instead of Paap/Hatiya kamayee.

Come on, huge difference between halal and non-halal meat, plus Gurbani says it’s foolish to argue about what we can eat. Hukkah is easy to know it is tobacco and smoking, Nihungs take weed, some, not all. No paap and pun in normal sense, real paap is duality, ego and hurting others hearts for no reason, as it is a dream/play but Gurbani helps guide so do not take anyone’s word and go read Gurbani and Shabads relaying to this and take a Hukamnana if still confused. Finally, Rehit as per Gurbani is important, Maryada not sure.

Because it's much easier, the lions and tigers and big animals like these would go extinct in a month if everyone decided not to eat the "innocent animals" and would only kill the strong ones. That would do some weird things to the populations of the other species too. Maybe create a big imbalance?
