haha, thanks so much buddy!! I feel like we should do a whole series of these: on a mountain, at the beach, inside a jungle, in the middle of the sahara desert... lots of viral/commercial potential there perhaps! :P

Sharp angular attacks, moments of hard swing, tolling time and tempo--this is up there with my favorite duos including Coltrane and Ali, Braxton and Roach, Kaoru Abe, and Sabu Toyozum,. More of this please!
ooohh, thanks so much, Karl! I'm in awe of all the people you mentioned, so your very generous words of praise mean the world!! There're many more recordings to follow (though none in such a lovely setting again), we're thinking of turning them into an album of sorts! Hope the summer's going well!
Just two instruments and an incredible powerhouse performance arises, staccato drumming is brilliantly played, fast and in exactitude all the while improvised and in communication with each other well done!
thanks so much! I love playing with Roland, i feel it definitely brings out a different side of my drumming, perhaps something a bit more percussive and jazzy than when playing with Michel!

This is truly wonderful - a beautiful performance in a beautiful location. There's something very special about experimental jazz out in nature (I'm a massive fan of Schwarzwaldfahrt by Peter Brötzmann and Han Bennink). Looks like you had as much fun playing as I am listening!
Ohh thank you, Paul! Yes, it's something I enjoy immensely too! it's a bit of a shame the microphone didn't pick up the sounds of the birds and trees, I kind of messed up with the levels on the mics... I love Brotzmann too, though I'm ashamed to admit I'm less familiar with his duo work with Bennink (which prompted me to listen to one of their albums as I'm writing this, thanks!)
@@urbulibaba Yeah the nature sounds would have been nice in there too. Maybe need two mics? Glad I got you on to the Brotzmann-Bennink duo stuff. That Schwarzwaldfahrt album is unbelievable :)
