The complete lack of any leaks in recent months has been an absolute bliss, because I believe that it’s the first time in a while that we’ve been this much in the dark about what FromSoft is going to do next. With that in mind, I think the only thing that I have any confidence in saying we’ll see more of in the future, at least in terms of IP, is Armored Core. Apart from the fact that it has been the most successful entry in the series yet, Miyazaki himself has stated that there is a “a strong will to continue it in the future” and that he personally deemed it a success. Obviously they haven’t really said anything concrete, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we did see more AC in the future. Completely agree on the Sekiro, if not a sequel, I’d love to see something follow in its footsteps in terms of action and refinement. As to what new stuff they could make, it’s completely up in the air, but if you put a gun to my head and ask me for a specific “dream girl” per say, my answer is simple, Mecha Fantasy. Be it Armored Souls or Dark Core or whatever you wanna call it, I want a full on Souls game with a mecha element to it, and the thing is, I believe Miyazaki kind of wants that as well. Back in the days of DS3, Miyazaki went on an interview saying that he would love to make a game that evoked the same feelings as Aura Battler Dunbine and Visions of Escaflowne, and if you know anything about those 2 shows, you know where this is going. Hell, he even name drops Frame Gride, an old FromSoft Dreamcast game that was basically Medieval Armored Core with a focus on Arena Combat. Mind you, this is an old interview, but given how AC rose from the grave, I doubt it still isn’t a glint in Miyazaki’s eye at least. Edit: I meant “dream game” lol
The Next gen capabilities and the ssd technology would allow fromsoft to experiment with a fantasy mecha game if not an open world mecha game too. Also it’s ridiculous how many fantasy books and shows Miyazaki is inspired by. Vision of escaflowne inspired game from him would be cool tho

A lot of creators, when trusted so fully by so many people, get lost in their own ego and start to act all high and mighty. Miyazaki is too good for this industry. Literal genius, great director, great leader and very humble. Bro even if you make rock paper scissors game, people will buy it.
In another recent interview Miyazaki said they’re far from done with Armored Core. And there’s that rumored magic battle game. I wouldn’t rule out an eventual sequel to Sekiro either
FR, it looks to me like they've achieved the full potential of souls action already with their soulsborne lineup. I think exploring their captivating worlds through some other means dthan just action is an avenue very ripe for potential. And meanwhile, other directors can freshen up their action games.
I hope they make a game that is basically Sekiro but for magic. Refining it to perfection. The magic system has basically been stagnant since Demon‘s Souls.
I personally am super excited to see more directors. Knowing that AC6 had a different primarily director just adds to the hype, cause that game is sick
Hearing Miyazaki's approach to building these games is just so beautiful. He has such a thoughtful and intentional approach to game design and directing its great.
people keep focusing on miyazaki, but what we should pay attention to is the other directors that we'll be seeing coming up, fromsoft has been carefully cultivating their talent for the last decade and we're about to see the fruit in bears.
Sekiro 2... or a new game like that where customization is less, but gameplay is focused to a razor's edge. And give me a more fully realized story…beyond Bloodborne and Sekiro. Give me a story like Witcher 3. The characters are believable. They talk about things that everyone can relate to..because they talk like real people.
There will probably be some dark souls spin-off or a new IP directed entirely by Yui Tanimura. Man's been cooking with DS2(development of DS2 was troublesome) and co-directed DS3 and Elden Ring. I'd bet money Miyazaki would allow him to develop his own game
I really hope they will make a horror game like Ku-On again someday. All their games already have quite a lot of horror elements (you could even say that Bloodborne is action horror RPG) and I'd love to see that in some slower paced game.

@@KingOfMalevolence Yes and no. Masaru Yamamura was the lead gameplay director of Sekiro, which means the moment to moment gameplay of Sekiro was his doing not Miyazaki. As for AC6, Miyazaki only oversaw the very initial concept phase of development. The amount of input he had on AC6 was probably comparable to his input on DS2.
@@elk3407for Sekiro, Miyazaki is still responsible for the gameplay's orientation. He directs or supervises every bit of his games, and Sekiro was no exception.
More abstract? Now that’s what I wanna hear as really that’s what I love most about his directed titles. Personally ive always wanted a Miyazaki horror game.
Last time I heard about Miyazaki and Ueda in the same sentence, it was about Ueda being asked if he knew about/had heard that the director of Dark Souls was a fan of his games, and he said he didn't know that. It's really nice to hear they have gotten in touch since. I also find it good that they are going to branch out a little or let other people also take more on directorial roles, as at the moment it seems they finally have some pretty good potential brewing in their studio. Also ensures the longevity of the company, when all the eggs aren't in the Miyazaki basket. It would be great for the studio if they managed to break out and become even more than "The Souls Company", while still satiating the Souls fanbase.
Miyazaki said in an interview 3 weeks ago that he wants to work in a new AC title. There's an article about it on fandomwire called “We have a strong will to continue it in the future...”
There's also an old interview from 2016 where Miyazaki talks about wanting to make a fantasy mecha game, something inspired by Escaflowne or Dunbine, which would be a spiritual successor to Frame Gride.
I went from a hardcore assassins creed fan to an even harder core fromsoft fan overnight because of elden ring. I hope he does some type of bloodborne Victorian gothic open world. That would be awesome. These guys are gifted truly.
I think it's great that Miyazaki is allowing those that work under him to also rise to the task of being Director. That being said, I would be happy with an Armored Core 6 expansion/6.5 or maybe a Bloodborne 2? Of course, their original works have been homeruns with Sekiro, Elden Ring & Bloodborne so if they have new journeys for us, I'd be more than excited to see where they take us next.
Gaming is a never ending cycle. Soon enough there will be a new trailer for a game that will consume your every waking moment. It's both a blessing and a curse. lol
It is crucial for miyazaki to let go of the reins for at least some fromsoft games, or they risk becoming stale. Elden ring is probably the peak of the soulslike genre, due to its scale and grandeur. That means the genre now needs either a shakeup, or from needs to step away from soulslikes for a while. I for one would LOVE a horror game directed by miyazaki.
The one From game I want a direct sequel too is Sekiro. The dragon's return ending tees off such an interesting premise for a journey and a game and it would be cool to see how it pans out.
It’s kind of weird but also really exciting to imagine a fromsoftware game without Miyazaki. Im curious to see where they are going to go Edit: before another person replies dark souls2 go actually watch the video
Honestly, I'd love to see what Tanimura and Yamamura will cook for us in the future, these two are also great visionaries and can help FromSoft branch out a little while staying in familiar territory edit: grammar
I think the names to look out for in the coming games without Miyazaki are definitely Yui Tanimura and Masaru Yamamura. Tanimura is largely credited with saving Dark Souls 2 from development hell, and has been co-director under Miyazaki for both Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. Yamamura was promoted from lead designer for Sekiro to become the director for Armored Core 6. These guys have extremely impressive games with their names on them and I think giving them full creative control would lead to some insane stuff from fromsoft
The response to SOTE was insane. It’s been years since I saw so many people not just willing, but desperate, to give a game developer $40 for a dlc. That, along with how different Armored Core was from their other contemporary titles, gives me so much hope for their future games. They’ve carved out a niche where they’re allowed and capable of actually innovating, but with a AAA budget behind whatever they do.
I was literally thinking about this all week... I truly wonder what they're cooking up next! I'm sure if it works out the way Miyazaki is hoping and he gets to complete his passion project we'll get to see something truly special at some point in the future >:D
it sounds to me like miyazaki wants to go back to the drawing board and make a completely new style of game, and that's something i'm extremely interested in. a very abstract, lore heavy fantasy game with less focus on combat and more emphasis on story would be amazing to see from him
I’m a bit confused on part of the interview. When Miyazaki mention they plan on still working on Elden ring was that before or after the dlc was announced. I was under the impression that shadow of the erdtree was THE last content planned for Elden ring.
I hope they all take a good holiday to rest and recharge. I also think it's good that Miyazaki is giving the reigns to other people so they can flourish and bring their own ideas.
I'm kinda of disappointed that Miyazaki won't be the artistic vision for new fromsoft games. His direction made games that have been very important for me, and i hope he continues to direct some things.
Thing is, he won´t be directing forever, and to see a creative head/Studio CEO like him to have the will to give new leads the creative freedom to direct a game, speaks volumes to how much he loves this medium.... He ain´t going away for a while, but keep an open mind for others.
Even if he is not involved in the production of the game, just him being in the building is going to have a big influence on that game. Because they will always have in mind that it needs to reach that Miyazaki standard.
I think Armored Core 6 dlc will first be announced and then potentially whatever new IP they're working on next. Also Miyazaki mentioning wanting to work on a more abstract fantasy game reminds me of his work on Deracine. I kind of wonder if Miyazaki thinks that the souls formula is at a place he's satisfied with and now he's at the phase where he lets other people direct games so he can work on more passion projects.
This is exciting. I'm sure there will be a lackluster From Soft entry here and there, but I'm alright with that. Frankly I'm hoping Miyazaki gets to make an Escaflowne type game like he talked about in the past.
One thought that I had was I’d like to see a fromsoft game where not everything is dead for once. I love the aesthetic of their games, but a souls world brimming with life would be very cool to see
A lot of fans will complain about this and not give these new games a chance but just look over at Bethesda if you wanna see what the opposite approach looks like. Todd Howard has suffocated that company by not giving up control. Rockstart has largely promoted from within and allowed junior leads to become senior leads and to throw greater weight around. This is the correct choice to make sure that FromSoftware continues to push itself forward.
I’d like to see a full, monumental remake of Dark Souls 1. A remake that fully realizes all the ideas they weren’t able to finish. As well as updating the game play.
Everytime I hear about Miyazaki, I start thinking man I wish I had his job or was fortunate to work for him. The thing I love more than playing video games is making them.
honestly, im excited to see fromsoft's future and interested to see how other directors than miyazaki will create these fromsoft games. i know it may be a bit worrisome to some folks that miyazaki wouldn't be directing every fromsoft game but i see it as a good thing because not only fromsoft is creating variety and establishing a future for their studio. miyazaki can also get a breather than being stacked from so many projects. its healthy for him to do this to say the least 😅
If they end up making Elden Ring 2 or another open world game, I’d love for them to expand the mechanics. Elden Ring is just “Dark Souls, but bigger.” Outside of the horse and crafting, the player isn’t really doing anything they haven’t been doing since Demon Souls. At the bare minimum, I think an Elden Ring 2 needs more traversal options. Even Scarlet and Violet let you glide and climb walls. Personally, I’d love Fromsoft to include swimming controls and maybe underwater combat. They teased us with the unmitigated terror of the deep sea in Bloodborne and DS III; it’s time they fully deliver on it.
ER was literally advertised as ‘the evolution to dark souls’ so I’m not sure why that’s a big surpised. It literally expanded/refined on every single system that Dark Souls 3 had iterated on, and that was the point
The way I see it, Shadow of the Erdtree is kind of like the Souls series' equivalent to Armored Core: Last Raven. In other words, a denouement or swansong of sorts to that formula or style of game. If SotE is as good as we all think and know it's gonna be, then realistically, there's really nowhere to go from there. It's why Last Raven was the last (no pun intended) of its kind; it was the finale to a saga of games that Fromsoftware had spent 8 years and 10 games tuning, chiseling, and perfecting to be as good as it can be, and it's also why Fromsoftware subsequently redirected their efforts with the advent of Armored Core 4 and For Answer. If SotE is truly Souls' Last Raven analog, why continue to milk the Souls formula when it (more than likely) has already become the best it could possibly be? Give us more Bloodborne-likes or Sekiro-likes, or return to the gameplay formula of Fromsoft's other IPs. I'd love to see what non-Souls games Miyazaki is cooking (I know Deracine exists, I don't own a VR headset), or what the other talent at Fromsoft is capable of doing. Hell, Armored Core VI showed us how promising someone like Masaru Yamamura is in the role of director. I've no doubt Fromsoft has other young talents just as creative and skilled as he is.
Its worth noting that Elden Ring has already set up FS for other titles. The Badlands and Land of Reeds could easily serve as distinct game settings in their own rights.
My favorite game is ds2 & sotfs, and AC6 was a great starting off point to get that series back into motion - especially if they work with some of the feedback they got. So I have no doubt that what the new devs make will be great, since these games can never be judged by their cover due to them always having alot under the hood. Personally, all I can specifically wish to see is rereleases of some of the older AC, shadow tower, and kings field games.

Miyazaki has high hopes for us: that we continue to struggle unto eternity.
Miyazaki is too good for this industry. Literal genius, great director, great leader and very humble. Bro even if you make rock paper scissors game, people will buy it.
You mean people would accept that but complain about the rest of the shovelware games just like that?
In another recent interview Miyazaki said they’re far from done with Armored Core. And there’s that rumored magic battle game. I wouldn’t rule out an eventual sequel to Sekiro either
A more "abstract" fantasy game from miyazaki sounds delicious
Also horrifying for a lore enthusiast like myself its already impossible to understand the lore 😭😭😭
FR, it looks to me like they've achieved the full potential of souls action already with their soulsborne lineup. I think exploring their captivating worlds through some other means dthan just action is an avenue very ripe for potential. And meanwhile, other directors can freshen up their action games.
I genuinely hope that “Spellbound” rumor that was floating around a while back is real. I would love a mage type game from FromSoft
My hope with Spellbound is that it's a rework to their magic/casting combat systems in their next soulslike game.
It’s confirmed as fabricated sadly. I really liked the idea of it as well. 😢
I hope they make a game that is basically Sekiro but for magic. Refining it to perfection. The magic system has basically been stagnant since Demon‘s Souls.
@@petros9711 ah man that’s so unfortunate
I was looking for that comment. Would love to see that! Wasn't the guy who leaked it the same dude who leaked Elden Ring before it was announced?
I'd love to see a pirate themed game from them
Wowww, yes
I like how this idea is popular for some reason
It's the cannon shield. Imagine parrying a cannon ball!
This could be a spiritual Bloodborne 2 without calling it that.
Make it its own thing, but do cosmic horror on the high seas
God imagine fighting leviathan level bosses while on the open season! Bloodborne but in the ocean
Excited to be excited like childlike wonder
I personally am super excited to see more directors. Knowing that AC6 had a different primarily director just adds to the hype, cause that game is sick
Hearing Miyazaki's approach to building these games is just so beautiful. He has such a thoughtful and intentional approach to game design and directing its great.
people keep focusing on miyazaki, but what we should pay attention to is the other directors that we'll be seeing coming up, fromsoft has been carefully cultivating their talent for the last decade and we're about to see the fruit in bears.
Miyazaki talking about the next project being more abstract in its fantasy ideas has my mouth watering. I can't wait to see it
They will finally answer Todds incessant calls and take over the Elder Scrolls ip
I would literally squeal with joy if that happened lmao
Sekiro 2... or a new game like that where customization is less, but gameplay is focused to a razor's edge. And give me a more fully realized story…beyond Bloodborne and Sekiro. Give me a story like Witcher 3. The characters are believable. They talk about things that everyone can relate to..because they talk like real people.
Bloodborne was the perfect in-between of having just enough customization but still having amazing more focused gameplay imo.
@@Foogi9000sekiro had better gameplay.
@@GregoThe3rd In your subjective opinion but i still preferred Bloodborne.
How about the best of both
@@GregoThe3rdit’s alright to be wrong
There will probably be some dark souls spin-off or a new IP directed entirely by Yui Tanimura. Man's been cooking with DS2(development of DS2 was troublesome) and co-directed DS3 and Elden Ring. I'd bet money Miyazaki would allow him to develop his own game
DARK SOULS 4 YOOOO
Joker aside, I could see a new IP coming from him.
I really hope they will make a horror game like Ku-On again someday. All their games already have quite a lot of horror elements (you could even say that Bloodborne is action horror RPG) and I'd love to see that in some slower paced game.
Bloodborne and Elden Ring are peak cosmic horror. I do want to see how they would handle psychological horror.
Or Echo Night. They are good at horrors.
i hope the next game is another Armored Core, i only played soulsborne but AC6 was fucking epic and really flexed FromSoft's range. It hooked me!
Don't worry about it, either 6.5 or AC7 will happen!
@@laserduck6149 AC6 dlc is very likely given how well it was received.
Problem is the game didn’t sell very well. It will probably be quite some time before another title.
@@Doggo-frenctonwho told you this? This game sold 2.8 million according to a report made October LAST YEAR, its first-month sales is better than Ds3 ffs(Bamco also said that the sales surpassed their expectation, at least make some research before spreading misinformation pls)
@@Doggo-frencton what are you on? It sold extremely well on Armored Core standards and pretty well still on general standards
I love that him saying that if he and Fumito Ueda would ever work together, he would leave him as director, implying that Michael Zaki would give Ueda whatever resources he needs to fulfil his vision. That is awesome.
I appreciate Miyazaki's thought process and how he likes to handle his studio and I would be really interested to see what he has in mind for his more experimental/hobby projects.
I feel like Miyazaki is what makes Fromsoft what it is today and not having him as director is going to be felt.
100%
I disagree. Masaru Yamamura is doing great things with Sekiro and AC6
@@elk3407 Sekiro was directed by Miyazaki and AC6 was initially directed by him too.
Can't wait to see Miyazaki's idea of "too weird to make a profit"
Cookies and Cream: Scholar of the first sin
New Kings Field iteration, with perhaps a Mordhau/Chivalry-Lite combat system for melee, would be very cool
I want dismemberment mechanics. Shadow Tower Abyss had that and if applied to KF it'd be amazing.
DODGE THIS YOU BAAAAAASTAAAAAAARD

"Ahh, I knew you'd come. To stand before the Taunting Host. What an exciting state of----" S E V E R E D
lmao
I don’t know about FromSoft, but after Shadow of the Erdtree, I’ll be able to move on with my own life
This DLC has been all i can think about for the past two years
I’m still waiting for mh wilds for that to happen for me
Gaming is a never ending cycle. Soon enough there will be a new trailer for a game that will consume your every waking moment. It's both a blessing and a curse. lol
I just want another Tenchu game from them I don't care if it's a remake a remaster or an entirely new Tenchu game, I miss those games dearly..
Sekiro is the new Tenchu, at least to From themselves.
Im curious to see where they are going to go
Edit: before another person replies dark souls2 go actually watch the video
I think DS2 its what you're looking for unless you mean a completely new IP
Armored core
ds2 without dlc is the result.
There's been several without him. Sekiro and Armored Core.
Dark souls 2, armored core 6
Big shout out for using Shadow hearts Covenant OST's. Such an amazing game with incredible music, always happy to see them used 🎶👍
I dont know what "more abstract than Elden Ring" means but Vatti just unlocked hard mode for his lore speculation videos.
Honestly, I'd love to see what Tanimura and Yamamura will cook for us in the future, these two are also great visionaries and can help FromSoft branch out a little while staying in familiar territory edit: grammar
There is the cosmere universe from Brandon Sanderson that was rumored
I think the names to look out for in the coming games without Miyazaki are definitely Yui Tanimura and Masaru Yamamura. Tanimura is largely credited with saving Dark Souls 2 from development hell, and has been co-director under Miyazaki for both Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. Yamamura was promoted from lead designer for Sekiro to become the director for Armored Core 6. These guys have extremely impressive games with their names on them and I think giving them full creative control would lead to some insane stuff from fromsoft
Shadowing my Erdtree to this rn
I hope that “spellbound” talk is actually something in the works, a Souls like focused on magic would just be…amazing.
More abstract than Elden Ring sounds batshit, I’m in
The response to SOTE was insane.
Miyazaki so smart for letting the other directors do their own thing.
I want a new King's field game! A first person dungeon crawler from the modern From Software would be extremely cool to see.
Great that he has a hands off methodology as president
I was literally thinking about this all week... I truly wonder what they're cooking up next! I'm sure if it works out the way Miyazaki is hoping and he gets to complete his passion project we'll get to see something truly special at some point in the future >:D
Their next game will be Armored Field: King's Core (we have no idea)
it sounds to me like miyazaki wants to go back to the drawing board and make a completely new style of game, and that's something i'm extremely interested in. a very abstract, lore heavy fantasy game with less focus on combat and more emphasis on story would be amazing to see from him
I’m a bit confused on part of the interview. When Miyazaki mention they plan on still working on Elden ring was that before or after the dlc was announced. I was under the impression that shadow of the erdtree was THE last content planned for Elden ring.
Imagine a Godzilla game made by From Software
This man is the savior of the community! knows we are all dying in this epic wait and continues to give up something to listen to spoiler free!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Frankly I'm hoping Miyazaki gets to make an Escaflowne type game like he talked about in the past.
that track is from Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Twilight Town I think, that is such a great and underrated game
imagine a roguelike fromsoftware game. Now that I am going to instantly buy
I just hope one of these ongoing projects is anything Bloodborne related
Ever since Sekiro and Elden Ring, the notion of Dark Souls with jumping has plagued my mind
My feeble mind can’t conceive of anything that could rival these games. But I’m here for it .
The thumbnail featuring DeSR makes me icky
Kind of a sidenote but I love watching your invasions in the background, always funny to see PVP ganks get destroyed
Everytime I hear about Miyazaki, I start thinking man I wish I had his job or was fortunate to work for him. The thing I love more than playing video games is making them.
Shadow hearts 2 ost for a shadow of the erdtree. Classy.
They better give Armored Core6 some love and then move on to whatever they want after that.
honestly, im excited to see fromsoft's future and interested to see how other directors than miyazaki will create these fromsoft games. i know it may be a bit worrisome to some folks that miyazaki wouldn't be directing every fromsoft game but i see it as a good thing because not only fromsoft is creating variety and establishing a future for their studio. miyazaki can also get a breather than being stacked from so many projects. its healthy for him to do this to say the least 😅
Honestly I just can't see them ever doing Elden Ring 2. It's just not what they do. I wouldn't even expect another open world from them again.
Don't think they will do Elden Ring 2. They don't like doing sequels.
ER was literally advertised as ‘the evolution to dark souls’ so I’m not sure why that’s a big surpised. It literally expanded/refined on every single system that Dark Souls 3 had iterated on, and that was the point
Hope we get another Deraciné type experiment from Miyazaki. Y'all slept on that game.
Re-releasing their older games would be great, They can be hard to get.
is it just me or anyone else wondering why you left the invasion at 4:40?
I want them to make a horror title so bad. I bet they could make something incredible in that genre
an armored core 6 expansion is most likely the next thing for fromsoft
Modern First-Person by FromSoft sounds like heaven
I want to see them go back to horror again.
Hearing the talk about a more abstract and crazy fantasy game sounds exactly like shadow tower.
gotta say these videos really help with the wait. thanks for posting them
NEW TENCHU GAME! it's all I want. I loved the Tenchu series as a kid.
They've made so much money, i really hope we see passion games made by Miyazaki just for fun. They'd be interesting for sure
Its worth noting that Elden Ring has already set up FS for other titles. The Badlands and Land of Reeds could easily serve as distinct game settings in their own rights.
God hearing Miyazaki saying he is cooking more stuff, makes me wanna give half my lifespan to him. i just cant let him go man
My favorite game is ds2 & sotfs, and AC6 was a great starting off point to get that series back into motion - especially if they work with some of the feedback they got. So I have no doubt that what the new devs make will be great, since these games can never be judged by their cover due to them always having alot under the hood.
Personally, all I can specifically wish to see is rereleases of some of the older AC, shadow tower, and kings field games.
