Cuuuuuuuute! he also speaks Portuguese, minha língua! :D So glad to know it... Alexander is indeed an adorable boy! fantástico... te amo! hahaha! That's incredible how these boys study languages! 日本語, 한국어, 中文, Portuguese, French... ^^
that's impressive!!! i'm multi-lingual myself Eng, Tagalog, Kor, Jap, and Spanish, and it's true, JUST BECAUSE you have an accent doesn't mean you lack fluency in the language. and it's true, he IS going from one language to another in seconds. I know for me when I'm put on the spot to speak different languages I feel like a chameleon and can get pretty flustered. and to be honest, i mix up languages all the time. these days I can't speak japanese w/ out accidentally using Korean words or such
His father is half Portuguese and Chinese ( So he speaks Portuguese and Cantonese& Madarin). His mother is Korean (she speaks Korean), and he came to the U.S to study (Where he learned English). In the U.S there are many Spanish speakers, and Spanish is every close to Portuguese. And he decided to learn Japanese. Also he is from Macau, and Macau was a Portuguese colony.
OMG this guy is just so amazing >< I'm a Cantonese but I don't know how to speak it n hv no interest in learning until I know he (and Henry) speak it. now I really want to learn Cantonese..
@SunSunApple he first said "Amo-te", it's portuguese (*.*), and then "Te amo" it's in spanish, but I think the person who wrote the subs wrote it wrong :)
@SmileTouch Even if who only knows the basics, his pronunciation and over all gist for different languages is impressive. I would say he has a gift for learning them.
Aww, I love his Spanish!! I love that he has his accent in each language that he speaks :-)) Wow, it's amazing that he can speak seven languages, it makes him all the more hotter!
@AyanamiRei5kyu He's father is taiwanese and mother's korean. He spent his young years in Macau, before moving to the States for study abroad.Macau used to be a portuguese colony,Thus, Macau possesses a very diverse population and has two official languages - Cantonese and Portuguese, not to mention various local dialects.Alexander was exposed to many different languages in his habitus. He later went on to study Spanish. He also took private lessons in French and Japanese with his sister.
oh i wanna do this too! okay I speak pretty much only english but I know basic spanish(only other language i had proper lessons for), japanese, and korean, plus a bunch of randome stuff i picked up in a bunch of different languages (I know not as impressive as others here, but I try)
@hydemegumi4ever His father is Portuguese-Chinese and his mother is Korean. He was born in Hong Kong, raised in Macau and studied abroad in the States.
OMG he said "eu sou alexandre" *faint* Neeever thought I would hear one of the boys speak portuguese! Aleeex, come to "Brasiil" and show me your abilities *-*
yee, he has got a pretty awsome portuguese accent, and it's even from Portugal! The thing I didn't understand is why he said the first one correct: Amo-te, and them when he intruduced himself again in portuguese: olá como estás, eu sou Alexander, amo-ti. Didn't understand! Either way he's my favourite.
@CiOhara36 I live in portugal and here when we want to ask "how are you?" we say "como estas" ^_^ but yeah, its also used in spanish, he could be speaking either portuguese or spanish
i agree with some of the posts. the hosts had to remind him how to say "i love you" in japanese. and "i love you" is typically the third phrase people learn when they study a foreign language.
@letttice ha ha actually he probably meant to pronounce it "te amo" which actually does mean "i love you" in spanish! (coming from an advance placement spanish 4 student!) XD
@jakartytatt yea ill miss Xander too T.T. he sort of inspired me to study my languages harder. I know english, spanish, german, japanese, and currently trying to learn korean. i will miss Alexander!!!
Wooow, 7 different languages? Really admire him! Wait, does he speak Portuguese from Portugal or the Portuguese from Brazil?! He speaking in Spanish is really sweet, always wanted to see him speaking in Portuguese / Spanish ... ahaha I like the way he speak the words..it's fun and cute!! mainly Portuguese (Brazil/Portugal) which is very hard to learn.
Neither. His dad is from Macau, which means his Portuguese is a different dialect than Brazilian and Portugal, but Macau Portuguese is mostly alike Portugal.
alexander is half filipino actually, his dad is a businessman in hongkong and mom is korean, they were my churchmate in macau...so cool, his parents are great
@Kowyi1 Ti amo is just Italian and Te amo is Spanish. Also Te quiero is always misinterpreted it can mean I want you for objects but it's more of and I like you when said to a person.
I'm learning Korean too and it's hard!!! I know some Japanese but, I think Korean is harder because of the levels of formality and politeness. Japanese just has like suffixes that make a word polite. Korean has one for a question, one for a statement, one used in extremely formal situations and also polite yet commonly used.......it gives me a headache!! lol
Alexander should be back with UKISS also Ki Bum~ Nobody can replace Alexander's skills in talking 7 different languages, that's why they are called INTERNATIONAL Super stars, because they can speak 7 languages, and UKISS is well-known with that title because of Alexander~ ♥ Ki Bum also! He can speak Japanese and English~ >.
@puntosuspensivo the right is "eu te amo" means i love you he can speak portuguese. He said: "Olá como está? Eu sou o Alexandre! Eu te amo!" means "Hi! How are you? I am Alexander! I Love You" Port: Eu te amo Span: Te amo
Lol Hola! ¿Como eshta? His accent is so cute. Spanish is like the bane of my existance though. Living in the southern United States it's mandatory for students to learn Español. Alexander es muy intelligente :-)
For those saying he can't speak in 7 languages JUST because he has a terrible accent, does not mean he can't speak it and is not fluent. I had an English teacher that had a really bad Chinese accent but she graduated from UofT and even she stuttered when she used some words. Plus, he's going from one language to the next in less than seconds, I'm sure you wouldn't be able to try to switch from one language to a totally different language the next. It's not like he was trained to be a translator.
I speak Finnish (as my native), English and Swedish and I also know basic German (studied it for 4 years but I was never really good at it) and basic Latin. I'll start studying French and Spanish this month :) I'd like to study Korean and Japanese and maybe Mandarin too...
Wo ai ni, Xander! Wo jiao Zhongguowen Hahaha! It is indeed fun to learn these languages! I know 10 (English, Tagalog, Bisaya, Ilonggo, French, Portuguese, Indonesian, Thai, Mandarin, and a little Italian), and I want more!
@jaysung18 -but i personally met his dad, he is my church mate in macau church but his nationality is hongkong coz he is a wine executive, well but his dad cant speak filipino as well, he is mr.anthony eusebio..
@eli1090 si ami tambien me vuelvo loca y me super emociono cuando veo q algun coreano habla o solo hace pequeñas pronunciaciones en español y este chico me enamoro completamente jejejejeje
@hptriogal Toronto. In Canada. Claiming to be one of the 'best universities in Canada'. Comparable to ivy league schools in the states. Magazine/news articles etc. words, not mine, though lol.
@halohalo2006 Huh, HE LEARNT IT! He can speak 7 languages just, he only focused in Korean, make him feel hard to balance his grammar and fluency in other languages...
@lamlokXD thanks ^^ I know. it's so fail to not even know how to speak my own language ==' I think it's 天天向上 since it's the only show on hunantv that U-Kiss guest in. (or at least the only one I know). Besides it's written on the lower right side on 0:37 - 0:41 right? Yeah SJ-M has been on it ^^
His Portuguese has a really thick Portugal accent. Like almost unintelligible thick. Makes sense, since Macau (his dad's from there) was a Portuguese colony for much less time than Brazil, and they haven't developed a very different accent. Obrigada Xander, eu também te amo! Beijos do Brasiiil!
wow you can speak the exact same languanges as me :)))) well except im learning korean and no where near fluent. And im from macau as well :)) thats pretty cooool
I think he knows a little bit of Tagalog b/c in his drama in the Philippines (my Korean jagiya ) he didn’t speak much and also the live after the show finishes he only spoke English most of the time
An easier language would have probably been French, though that's my opinion. I'm learning French and Korean at the moment and aside from Hangul, I think Korean is actually easier. (Honestly, I think it depends mostly on the individual and their ability to grasp the concept of a language more so than the root language but that's the reason I gave before is a little more logical. I think it also depends on your determination to learn the language.) Also, yes, you speak English very well ^^
English is so popular because it's easy, it's because the British conquered so many countries, along with the French and Spanish. I agree that Slavic languages are incredibly difficult, but you Spanish & Italian speaking friend, what was her first language? Depending on that actually decides whether or not you can easily learn a language or not, same with you. What's your first language? If it's Latin root, then I'm not surprised your fluency in English is amazing, if not, then wow.
Every Portuguese knows how to speak Spanish and most of us are good with languages. Amo-te também Xander! Haha :p
that's impressive!!! i'm multi-lingual myself Eng, Tagalog, Kor, Jap, and Spanish, and it's true, JUST BECAUSE you have an accent doesn't mean you lack fluency in the language. and it's true, he IS going from one language to another in seconds. I know for me when I'm put on the spot to speak different languages I feel like a chameleon and can get pretty flustered. and to be honest, i mix up languages all the time. these days I can't speak japanese w/ out accidentally using Korean words or such
From my understanding, he and his sister had a private tutor that taught him french, but he never became fluent.
Ang cool talaga ni alexander lee, kaya ang daming nagmamahal sayo.
''Hola, ¿cómo eSSHHtas?'' LOL so cute hehe
y el yuu amo-te? JAJAJAJA, que tierno :3
His father is half Portuguese and Chinese ( So he speaks Portuguese and Cantonese& Madarin). His mother is Korean (she speaks Korean), and he came to the U.S to study (Where he learned English). He's father is taiwanese and mother's korean. @hydemegumi4ever His father is Portuguese-Chinese and his mother is Korean. He was born in Hong Kong, raised in Macau and studied abroad in the States.

É o português de Portugal mas tudo bem ;3
@SunSunApple yeah you're right, but i think that's was in portuguese,he probably said that it was similar to "Ti amo" :)
yee, he has got a pretty awsome portuguese accent, and it's even from Portugal! The thing I didn't understand is why he said the first one correct: Amo-te, and them when he intruduced himself again in portuguese: olá como estás, eu sou Alexander, amo-ti.

Some Macanese people can speak Patua but they also know Portuguese

Also Te quiero is always misinterpreted it can mean I want you for objects but it's more of and I like you when said to a person.
I'm learning Korean too and it's hard!!! I know some Japanese but, I think Korean is harder because of the levels of formality and politeness. Japanese just has like suffixes that make a word polite. yep! I love him, the number one in my heart.

@MaruixBuntaa Actually, in Portugal "te" sounds like "ti", different than Latin America. I know that because my cousin is portuguese.
That sounds a lot like my goal too! I hope you can achieve it! ^^b
@hptriogal Toronto. In Canada. Claiming to be one of the 'best universities in Canada'. Comparable to ivy league schools in the states. Magazine/news articles etc. words, not mine, though lol.
