I think living in a small space is much easier when your weather is warm all year round. In Canada I need a little more inside space as half of the year we can’t be spending time outside. Also we have a grown son so he needs his own space too. Ideally if you can live in a smaller home there’s less cleaning, maintenance and expense.❤️
You're right about needing bigger space for colder climates. In Hawaii, people rarely spend indoors

I live in Canada too and I agree!!!! I have 4 young kids and they all need their bedroom (I have an autistic child). And we have winter clothes, boots, etc.

Less is often more. When you pair everything down to the essentials, you really appreciate what you do have. When we're flooded with so much, we experience a paradox of choice and we inherently value all those things less.

Lovely! Our house is 85O-900 sqft and the best square space. The 2nd bedroom is our office. We got rid of our oven. We have a NuWave induction on the counter and outside solar ovens. We're on the hunt for 2nd home about the same that, like you, we'll furnish similar, splitting our current stash of everything. Our parents will need to be close by eventually; we're prepping.
Such a beautiful, peaceful and clean space. I love what you did with the restroom, by keeping it original you guys didn't create waste and saved you money, that's a win win☺

I love how much you fit into a small space and yet it feels so cosy and spacious. I’m in the middle of decluttering my 84 square metre apartment and can’t believe how much STUFF I’ve accumulated in 10 years living here (even though I regularly declutter). I think I need to hack away more brutally to dump more. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙌❤️🙌

I live in 10 square meters at the moment (extreme minimalist) and even if it seems incredible it’s actually not that bad! Obviously it’s a temporary situation, in autumn I’ll go back to something bigger. Here in Italy I rent, my actual house it’s in England! Your house it’s so amazing, the unit you presented would suit me perfectly! Great to watch you sweet Sophie! 💖

We use to live in a very nice tiny basement with the homeowners in the main main house on Oahu. They also had a tiny cottage they rented out and it was nice because it was like we had our own tiny community within a community.

That’s really thought through- I know how much effort that must have been, also the upkeep. Your husband’s nook bench is really great. We built here in Bavaria and our house is considered small compared to the neighbours. But I think it’s huge for two people and two little dogs! I desperately need to minimalise. We don’t have a cellar or an attic, and we have to live with the props and scenery from our productions which has made everything quirky for sure. A viennese chandelier in the kitchen… it’s actually gorgeous but certainly not the norm here in Germany!

How bigger house do we need? That’s a good question..in your last tour of upstairs I stated we were buying a new kitchen but after finding the price I was horrified. We decided to redo our existing kitchen with a few alterations and be frugal as we’ve always been. We already have enough room and every thing we need and want. I love your hall bench… great job 😊🇬🇧💕

I'm always curious to see how do houses look inside, sometimes while I am walking in the street and I go by a house where the door is opened I get distracted looking inside the house and feeling how the house smells lol I know It's weird but that calls my attention and sometimes can even bring memories of places where I have been

What a peaceful space and existence. I hope to create an additional rental unit in our home one day. Our area has a lot of restrictions that don't allow for many ways to add additional dwellings, but I'm hoping that will change soon. In the meantime these videos are so inspiring!

I am in love. Where do you find inspiration for interior design? It looks gorgeous. We used to live in Cape Town in a pretty similar place. Reminds me of these times a lot. Me and Erika are the same! We actually enjoy smaller places. We used to live on 29sqm, then 34sqm in Barcelona and now have 64sqm which is still quite small for a family. We are blessed that we enjoy staying with our partner in a small place all time time.
