I hope you enjoyed the quick tour! As I was editing I realized I forgot to mention my favorite feature: my hideaway tables!! I use them all the time and they take up no space at all. If you watch any of my recent vlogs, you can see them in use.
What a coincidence! I have a 4Runner and also started living out of it since May 2021! Great set up! SUVlife doesn’t get enough love as Vanlife so I am delighted to see another 4Runner camper! Safe travels!
Firestone now makes window covers that are black on one side and silver on the other. The black side absorbs heat for the winter months - and the silver reflects light - keeping your car cooler in the summer. I found mine at the 99 cent store... they were around $4.00 a window cover.
Thank you for all your tips. I live in a 1 bed apartment, but I'm trying to downsize, van life style, when it comes to my clothes. 10 items of leggings,10 shirts, 10 dresses, 10 skirts, 10 sweaters/hoodies. It actually works
Hey it’s awesome what your doing because I have a forerunner 2020 and doing same as you . I travel as a nurse and live in my forerunner. I take showers at a truck stop 😁
I have the exact same 4Runner so it was great seeing your setup. The drawers are awesome. My reflective don’t stay put either and I came up with the idea of holding them up with old credit cards or old hotel card keys. That has worked really well. My setup is completely different but I’m happy with it so far. Thanks for sharing!
Nice job on displaying your home on wheels but how many changes/adjustments do you think you've made to get your rig to this point. The planning alone must have been something to witness. Just a suggestion, I have a foldable solar panel that I put in as a sun shade for the windshield and connect it to my Jackery 1000, it adds power while keeping the car cooler. Another tip to share is I bought a butane stove with the propane hose kit, that way I can use butane or those green 1lb bottles, it gives me options. I look forward to watching your future vlogs, until then, I hope you take care and stay safe out there.
18:27 looking up the specs of the 3000x, doesn’t look like it takes a fast charge like the newer ones. Not sure how much you drive Vs parked but a cigarette adapter splitter would give you some juice while driving and 200 watts of solar ran down the windshield with a KC lights cable hider is a nice waterproof way to get the solar cables inside the cab.
You might consider getting some tools to stuff in that cute cubby. Who do you go to when something needs to get fixed? Where is your spare? Do you have an app for that?
I love what you do girl. I really think it is amazing that you are showing the world that you can do this on your own. That really says something for you and every other female out there. Anyone can do this, and you show that 100 percent.
Where to use the restroom at night? My set up is almost the same. I sold my 4 runner I miss it. But it had 315,000 miles on it. Now just a Prius V station wagon. Have not removed the seats yet. But then I haven’t taken to the road yet. I use a trip toilet behind the drivers seat. I’m the small car it is a challenge. One night I was at a campground in New Mexico and used my pop up tent with trip toilet inside. The weather was nice though. And the wolves and coyotes were somewhere howling in the middle of the night. Seemed kinda spooky. Happy travels.
Ok first off… i love u … your hiking boot selection and the obscure fact u have an ice axe. Marry me lol. We can travel north and South America in our 4Runners! I’m building my custom 4runner 2019 RN. Toss me advice at will. Ill do a tick/YT on it myself later. Thank you have a great day!
I love this. I just got a 2016 Honda Pilot and my gf and I are looking up setups because where we are living now is going to be sold most likely in the springand we don't want to do the ridiculous rentals here in Maine so we think maybe we'll take a few months of spring through fall to live in our suv while we save and compare options

I just found your channel tonight and am really . I lived and worked in Telluride back in the late 80`s so seeing you brave sub-zero Temps in Silverton brought back fond memories. You're doing a great job and I look forward to following your adventures 😀
Brilliant. The one time I lived out of a vehicle, 6 months or so, I used an RTIC cooler for refrigeration, but a real refrigerator may be cheaper and certainly less trouble over the long run.
How do you car camp when its too hot outside to be in the car? (like 90+ heat, etc) It seems like people can deal with the cold and turn the car into a hot tent through various ways... but the power draw probably too high to run AC all the time in summer. Thanks.
Grace, I run a 12V charging cable from the rear passenger cargo area 12V plug to my Jackery so that it is charging whenever I am driving. Of course, if you stay in one place for a while, that doesn’t help. Are you able to charge that way? A folding solar panel or two would be fairly cheap as an alternative to coffee shop charging.
I don’t have a car charger for the goal zero unfortunately because they are notorious for breaking within a couple months. A folding solar panel is something I’ve been looking into as a temp solution! Thanks for the comment!
Congratulations on 1,000 subscribers! I really like your setup but I would have to have one side on a lower platform for the headroom. Other than that I like your fridge and your power station and your pullout tables are so smart.
Thank you! I may look into the lower platform on one side if I do another build... I haven't completely decided my thoughts on it. I go back and forth. It would be nice to be able to sit up somewhere other than the driver's seat, especially on the bad weather days. Also, the pullout tables are by far the most used pieces of the build.
I’m really surprised that you cannot plug your power bank into your 12 V cigarette lighter plug. I plug my power pack, it’s 750 W and I plug it in the 12 V cigarette lighter in my Subaru, and it charges as I drive very easily… I saw a 12 V cigarette lighter plug in your video.
Nice roof top camper. Glad you decided on what to purchase, love it and are able to afford it. I saw someone posted $10,000 for a base price in 2022. Yikes. Not sure if that is an accurate price though. :)
This is my second video that I've watched from your vlog. Quite interesting on your setup. I haven't start to setup mine just yet, but trying to obtain all the information that I can about drawer systems before I get started. Which it leads to my question on why haven't you decided to upgrade modifications to your 4Runner? Great job!
Thank you very much for the complete walk through tour! I learned a lot and made some notes. It’s apparent you have a passion and lifestyle you are happy about. Your enthusiasm and vitality are contagious and inspiring. I will have to watch again about the Garmin what is it-satellite communication? And the mattress-seems the Amazon link does not work. But no matter-I will figure these out. Thanks again. Happy travels I’m subscribed and looking forward to more.
Have you tried an electric tea kettle? We take ours in our 4Runner.. It plugs into the outlet in the back and only takes 60 seconds to reach 200 degrees.. They are $30 in Amazon
Thanks for the tour! Love the drawer set up in the back and like how you organized it. Did you build it or is it one of those car kits? Either way it is impressive!
Thanks for sharing your set up. I have a 4Runner and am constantly thinking about how I want to change/modify my configuration. Thank you mentioning the suction cups b/c mine fall out all the time. Thank you! Congrats on the new 4Runner! I actually plasti-dipped my emblems and front and back bumpers. The emblems can be a bit tedious to do, but I think it was worth it. They've been done since May 21 and lasted through all sorts of conditions. Cheaper than buying new emblems 😄
Was wondering about your thoughts on roof rack storage ? Would give you some room inside if you could store some of them on top no ? But maybe you have your reasons
