Thanks guys for a style of music I thought I'd never hear again since the Everly Brothers and thanks to David Lynch for featuring you on the new Twin Peaks - perfect combination xx
First heard this today whilst watching a Danish crime serial on the BBC. I too thought it was the Everley Brothers. Brilliant track let's hope we hear more of them.
So, I heard this song on Spotify earlier this year, and loved it. I also watched Twin Peaks for the first time ever a few months ago. When this song came on in the episode.. one of my favorite TV moments ever!
I found this by watching Darkness those who kill on BBC iplayer. Sounding so much like the Everly brothers, my generation. Love this song, thanks guys you have great voices.
So glad for stations like The Current here in Minnesota that help me find great MN music. From the members of the Rhymesayers collective to Trampled by Turtles to The Cactus Blossoms.
We just dealt with our first ever hurricane, eventually downgraded to a tropical storm in Cali. I was walking around, listening to this soundtrack among the flooded streets with the power out. Was an eerie feeling. But somehow comforting too. This and Alan Wake has some of the best songs. And those two things feel similar in the atmospheric nature of them.
I’m at Starbucks now, they just played it and a 60-ish woman just asked me if it was the Everly Brothers - and I said Yes! - because I’d never heard of this group before. LOL
I'm 40 years old and I could swear I've heard this song my whole life. I'm certain I have, and it's scaring the shit out of me that this is a fairly new song 😳
@@__iconoclast7744 Aint dat de troot, yaw. I swear this one pulls the heart. Thank you David from the udder end of the Miss. You do look different from way down here. Damn. ... dem chords cut me up, cher.
If only Lake Superior went to the Mississippi...and to the south. Every time I head there I felt like the diners and scenery made me feel like I was in Twin Peaks. I dig CB so much already being a huge Everly Brothers fan.. lovely
I discoverd these guys tonight, while i was watching a new crimi from DK called...Those who kill. And i was stunned by hearing this beautiful music off these guys. It sounds like the EB.Thanks for this amazing music❤❤❤❤ you got a Néw Fan!! Greetzzzz from Holland
I'm going down to the sea M-l-S-S-l-S-S-l-P-P I watch the sun yellow and brown Sinking suns in every town My angel sings down to me She's somewhere on the shore waiting for me With her wet hair and sandy gown Singing songs waves of sound There's a dive I know on River Street Go on in and take my seat There's a lot of friends I'll never meet Gonna take a dive off River Street You look different from way down here Like a circus mirror I see flashes, of you on the surface I'm coming up from way down here The water's clear, all I want is to see your face I'm going down to the sea M-l-S-S-l-S-S-l-P-P I watch the sun yellow and brown Sinking suns in every town
I'm hearing reincarnated Everly Brothers channeling Chris Isaak, which is a magical sound! First heard them on a TCM promo (Change Your Ways). What a great find!
New subscriber here. Totally digging your classic sound. I'll admit I saw your name and looked you up only because I'm obsessed with cacti lol. So glad I did!
So glad you were drawn in by a cactus. May the cactus live for a hundred years more. Then I'll be outta' here and will have taught my grandchildren to value our cactus. The bonus is you get these brothers singing harmony that sucks you in; won't let go. find all their songs; they are so good with great vibes and acoustic guitar which is special.
I saw the Everly Brothers perfom live twice. I was watching Darkness Those Who Kill and this was playing on opening credits. I was sure it was Phil and Don. I checked closing credits I couldn't believe it. I've got to check out more of this music. It's cool there are so many people commenting about the similarity.
She was in the river when she was dead, though, and Twin Peaks is full of the sort of mysticism that could easily allow for a song from the perspective of a dead person. You're cruel and unimaginative.
'Darkness: Those who kill' (Den som dræber). Episode 1. 🇩🇰 Danish crime drama on BBC iPlayer. I remember my Dad listening to The Everly Brothers on reel-to-reel tape in the early 70's. Just love those harmonies. Timeless. 🇬🇧
Ça colle parfaitement à l'ambiance de Twin Peaks... J'adore ce morceaux...Merci à David Lynch pour la bande son...mais surtout pour ses réalisations. Le top du top...
If you're only hearing the Everley Brothers influence (which is way obvious), and not the Hank Williams in these guys, I'd really suggest you ought to dig into the roots of Country & Western a bit more (okay - a lot more). Hank Williams, Jimmie Rogers, Ernest Tubb, etc.
I came here specifically to see if anyone thought these guys sounded like the Every Brothers. I shazamed this song and it reminds me so much of "Crying in the Rain".
This would have been regarded as a masterpiece and had been a million seller back then when there was a world, in 2019 is just something floating around in this sea of internothingness and slowly drowning into oblivion like everything and everyone....
It’s a TV series that ran in the 1990’s. Trippy, weird and cool. A follow up second series ran a few years ago. The creator of both is the brilliant David Lynch.
It annoys my wife no end, whereas I love it. I'm the artist of the family (art, music, writing, blah-blah), and she's the pragmatic math lover - so make of it what you will. ;-)
A nod to the southern' style colloquialism referring to the river itself (the song is NOT about the state), as the old fashioned informal/ back hollar pronunciation can be genuinely or ironically thick in tang. (ie: 'the mighty mississipp")
@@CSM100MK2, that's how I took it as well. The other notion, that the spelling is finished by the start of the next line, is also valid. Either way, it doesn't even have to make sense. You don't need that apostrophe at the end of "southern" btw.
My 4 year old heard this tune on one of the youtube’s Ads and asked me to find it. I kep looking for 2+ weeks and went through at least a few dozen songs hoping to find the phrase “I’m going down to the sea”, and now I can’t stop listening... :)
Absolute masterpiece of a song.
Just found this song in Twin Peaks ... blown me away, perfect blend of voice, lyrics and instruments ... well done guys, you nailed it, thank you !
Me too!! I fell in love with the theme song Falling and now this
This is one of the best songs ever. I have listened to it at least a dozen times, probably more. The Twin Peaks soundtrack is so good.
Thanks guys for a style of music I thought I'd never hear again since the Everly Brothers and thanks to David Lynch for featuring you on the new Twin Peaks - perfect combination xx
Yes totally. The new Everly Brothers 🖤🖤
Wow
Exactly what I thought... don’t they sound like the Everly Brothers
Darkness: Those that kill on BBC iplayer took me here
@@Aberration79 Hmmm? I think that the Everly Brothers sound like the Cactus Blossoms.
hello can you tell me what style of musci is this?
@@cris4529 Sounds like what they call "Americana" in Europe. Mebbe something like alternative country in USA
Vocal harmonies have always been the heart of the greatest songs.
Beth Lightfoot ditto

Me too - 'Justice' - I'm just watching it now. But I HAD to look up this sing.
This song is so hauntingly beautiful
So glad that you guys were featured in Twin Peaks!
Saw on Twin Peaks! Gives me Roy Orbison Jr vibes!
Gorgeous... voices, REAL voices in the act of REALLY SINGING. Evocative, lush, yet so simple. Great work.
Thank you 3RRR/3PBS Radio stations of Melbourne Australia for playing such beautiful music that commercial stations refuse to play...

I fckn love this song. Been listening for 8 hours on repeat, literally
Me too. It's so dreamy...transports me out of this post pandemic hellhole for a few minutes.

I heard this song today at Starbucks, and I said to myself “must be the Everly Brothers”. I just found a new favorite ❤️
Is it a cover of the Everly Brothers or just in that style?

@@SlackerInc1 style but same (slower) rythm of cathy's clown by Everly Brothers.

best tune i've heard in awhile..
Fantastic. Stands on its own and as a bonus also parallels thematic/visual elements from TP.
Beautiful song, greetings from the mountains of 🇨🇴 ♥
Wow. Just wow. That is all, carry on carrying on.
This reminds me of the every brothers. It's the harmony!
Yeah I’m so grateful to twin peaks for making me aware of this song
Absolutely. That's what I just thought of so much like them
Every Brothers vibes, and very nice. Love the harmonies
Rock on guys, rock on..🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I just discovered these guys, I thought the same. That sound nearly identical to The Everly Brothers.
I guess this was basically Laura Palmer's point of view then.
Pureforest77, that is actually a very good observation.

Thank you for that insight. If I'm the DJ at the North Bed party to celebrate Twin Peaks in 2019, you will see a unique vision of this song.
