    The rings around the sanwa buttons are not called o rings. O rings are little rubber rings that can go around the inside stem of the keycap to dampen your press and reduce travel.

    Wait, what about drift in Ultimate? On Boxx and F1 it's not possible to get full drift? What about on LBX?

    • @FateZiggy
      @FateZiggy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Basically what I mean when I say you're missing out on drift is because there's no reactivation, whenever you input a RAR or any Direction> Opposite Direction> Direction you have a slightly longer period where your stick is neutral or holding in the opposite direction that you want
      Edit: because LBX mostly uses Crane's firmware I think you can enable reactivation so that problem won't exist on that

  • @justarandomperson5363

    I wonder if there is a way to custom install a nunchuk port. I'd really like to use frame1 but for me personally, a nunchuk port is a deal breaker. If I could install one myself, I'd have no reason to use a b0xx.

    • @BobbyRPZ
      @BobbyRPZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm curious about this, why do you use the nunchuck ? I mean why not use a gc or pro controller instead of a boxx+nunchuck ?

  • @naejimba
    @naejimba 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So for the price point, do they make a version with less buttons for people who don't play Smash? I'm looking at things like hitbox/snackbox/MPress/new Victrix stickless and 1) they are 2-4x as expensive, 2) Most of them are continually sold out. If you can reach one of the bottom buttons with your thumb easily and remap it to jump this would be a fantastic stickless controller regardless of what game you play.

    • @FateZiggy
      @FateZiggy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the only layout they have, and the price has gone up since I made this video. Stickless boxes are definitely a bit over inflated price wise right now, but there's few bad choices for it

    • @naejimba
      @naejimba 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FateZiggy , still... at $150 as it is now with a few changes to the layout and a different PCB I would buy this over the other options any day of the week if it is right around the $200 mark. Whoever makes this is leaving money on the table if they don't consider doing this. Basically it has the length of something like a Hitbox (so I don't have to play with my legs together crushing my balls) but the improvements options like MPress and Snackbox have made, plus the grip covering the bottom beats anything available. There isn't anything quite like this on the market for your standard button boxes and there would be demand.

      At this exact moment July 6, 2022. There is only two smash arcade boards that you can buy. These two are the BOXX (with a version with better buttons) and the new controller LBX. All others are out of stock without a known time to restock. Though at least Frame1 will probably open up again. Someday.

    Very nice review! Nice comparisons too! Since you played on both SmashBox and Frame1 can you tell me about how easy/hard it is to get used to the Frame1's directional layout? It has always scared me away from putting money up to buy it.

    • @FateZiggy
      @FateZiggy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am a die-hard believer that WASD is a more intuitive layout and anyone that claims it's noticeably less ergonomic is absolutely full of it. That being said, if you are coming from a GCC, the adjustment period will feel pretty much exactly the same between the two. If you are coming from a Smashbox...I mean probably just keep using that. It took a couple days to adjust between the two

    When you bring up not having full drift for RAR’ing, I genuinely don’t understand what you mean that this is a nerf on a rectangle controller. It’s the same inputs you would do on a controller just done in a different way. If you’re RAR’ing to the left, on a GCC you would hold the stick left then at some point go right to turnaround, press jump, and ideally hold left again during your jumpsquat to preserve your momentum. On a rectangle, you would hold left then at some point press right to turnaround, press jump, then hold left again to preserve your momentum. It is weird to remind yourself to release your buttons so you can reactivate them but your functionally doing the same thing when playing on an analog stick and moving it around.
    It’s the same inputs for both and that’s very intentional. A big reason for SOCD being the way it is on these controllers is to ensure that mechanics like dash dancing in melee and even IRAR/Slingshots in ultimate aren’t stupid easy when compared to the input method on a GCC or ProCon.
    It’s an adjustment but it’s a healthy mechanical requirement to expect for balance.

    • @FateZiggy
      @FateZiggy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A bit to unpack here, first of all thanks for the comment. Inherently RARs are easier on rectangle controllers because of the lack of stick travel time. Having to let go and hit the button again can add a pseudo travel time, and it's just not necessary considering Smashbox and B0XX just outright allow SOCD with reactivation for Ultimate. There are some things that are easier on rectangles, and some things that are easier on GCCs, and it seems pointless for the F1 to act this way. I'm almost sure it's an oversight

    • @GiovanniMorales1267
      @GiovanniMorales1267 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FateZiggy I didn’t realize that’s how SOCD and reactivation was handled on BOXX and Smashbox for ultimate. If I missed that part of the video, then it’s totally my bad for the misunderstanding. I’m more familiar with rectangles on Melee but I know Ultimates mechanics pretty well so it was the perfect intersection for my confusion. I don’t think I agree with the reactivation design but that’s a separate thing entirely lol
      Thanks for the response and your video production is pretty good. Keep up the good work and wish you the best!
