I was a young teenager when this came out and loved it then and still love it now. Reminds me of my late aunt who bought it on single and we were round hers when we first heard it
No idea why the TH-cam algorithm brought me here, but I Love this! (I did watch an old South African comedy that played this song.) Never knew the actual Mario Brothers had a band. lol Still loving this!
Well said. I’ve lived in South Africa for 40 years and still can’t understand why the locals go moggy for this shite. They used to play this at rugby matches in the eighties, guys from north of the mealie belt went mad for it!

No it’s genuinely that old. This song was doing the rounds in Spain, Benidorm and Gran Canaria In the mid 80’s to mid 90’s. I remember hearing & dancing to it in La Pineda while on holiday in the late 80’s.
I hated 1984 with a passion been only 15 one year beore I hit 16 and left school in 1985 and the 80s for me was bloody horrible to grow up in and leave school in.
There is something appallingly suggestive about that accordion players movements, its disgraceful and on top of that the music's shite! So if you asked me, no, I don't like it!
I use to hear this on holiday in Magaluf. Not heard this since 1989!
I'm so happy I found this song it reminds me of my parents 😝😝
