Many ex-JWs are forced to come back because they can't live being shunned by their families and friends. Remember many of them are born in the organization or joined very young and only hung around with other Jws. They have no outside support. Many of them have committed suicide. Many will remain inside the organization eventhough they don't believe what they teach because they know they will "lose everything". It's really sad.

Thank you, thank you Brian. As jw myself at the moment, but trying to carefully extract myself from this mind controlling organization, I so appreciate this video. I'm not out yet, because of family, and when I am out, I will be shunned. The members have no choice if they want to keep their own network. A person can be shunned for not shunning an exjw, even family. This video is so important. Please keep exposing them for what they are. Having said that, I must add, that any and all negative attention they get, is simply considered to be Satan attacking them because of being correct in their eyes, because Jesus said His true followers would be hated. So they claim this as evidence of being the "Truth". Again, thank you Brian, and peace be with you. 🙏

@J. M. Well, thank you. I wish to encourage you to please read your Bible. Without the magazine's. Yes, jw's believe that they are reading their Bible. I thought I was. Read the whole book of John, to start with, by itself in it's entirety. Also, when you see terms such as "seems that", "must have ", "possibly ", "would have", in the magazine articles or in talks, this is pure speculation on the part of the governing body of jw's. Also, they never spell out what "lies" apostates supposedly tell. They won't tell the brotherhood about the Australian Royal Commission and CSA in Jehovah's Witnesses. That is not apostate material. I did not wake up from so called "apostate " material. I woke up during last year's Regional convention with a member of the governing body of jw's lying to viewers about what the Bible teaches, during a talk. I know my Bible. I know what it teaches and what it does not teach. God's word warns us to "make sure of all things". For decades as a jw I didn't do that, I just "swallowed " being "spoon fed". Please, always make sure for yourself. Peace be with you.

@@regendoocon5931 anyone that argues that hell is bad doesn't understand it's purpose. You can cuss out the Bible all you want but that won't make you correct. Hell is obviously a very scary place, but with Jesus we don't have to fear it for we are promised Salvation if we believe, keep the commandments, and do His great works. Hell is for people that chose to deny God and NEVER chose to repent.(People who ALWAYS chose to hate God) I personally believe God is very merciful (in fact, I know God is merciful because if He wasn't, this sinful world wouldn't exist anymore!) I, as with all Catholics, believe in Purgatory too, where we will become pure and then enter into Heaven. No one is perfect and Jesus isn't going to send us all to hell, even some of us who may not have gotten to know Him enough and may have not even ended up turning to God I believe will be spared. I don't know in what way, be it more time in Purgatory or what, but God is so great and merciful. We shouldn't test or take advantage of His mercy though. You've said something very bad about the Bible (which holds Jesus' Will). All I can tell you is to seek Jesus and ask for forgiveness! Everyone sins, God doesn't discriminate! Call upon His name, and your sins shall be forgiven friend!
Perhaps, even if someone denied God their whole life, if they cry out and ask Him for forgiveness in the final days of Earth (maybe even on judgement day) that person might be saved. Obviously I can not know for certain, but I know 1)God is merciful, and loves us all and 2)Condemning people isn't right, only God can judge.

All you have learned are the doctrines of the church you attend that are Catholic doctrines the Protestants kept when they split from Catholicism. My mother is a Jehovah Witness and it’s very frustrating to our family when she forces her religion upon our family. My family and I are Catholic and she lived with us approximately five years ago. It was a very tense experience. My daughter was given a portrait of the Virgin Mary for graduating from Catholic school. She became unhinged because we had the portrait in the house. She told us that it was demonic and that she couldn’t continue living with us as long as that picture was in her house. She asked us to live with her because she was concerned about living alone. Jesus himself, in the gospels, taught this. With the death of the Apostles, the apostasy warned by all was a real danger. Christian communities were by now well established . If Jesus Christ and Michael the Archangel are the same person, then why did Michael the Archangel say in Jude 1:7 (with his dispute with the devil about Moses body) Michael said: "The LORD rebuke you". In other words, Michael deferred to The Lord (Jesus) for the rebuke of the devil. I would add that Mary was the New Ark of the Covenant. She held the Word within her. The Ark was not to be touched. It was a sacred vessel. You would not use it as a storage device for non-sacred objects. Also, back when I was a Protestant, I would usually be confused when I read Mary's confusion at the angel's assertion that she would become pregnant. After all, she was engaged to be married. But if you understand that she had taken a vow of celibacy you can easily see why she was confused. This is when the angel assured her that the Holy Spirit would overshadow her.

First of all I would like to remind you I’m publishing this video on events from the Life of St John Bosco once a week, on the weekend. You can post comments, express ideas, put questions and ask for prayers. My purpose in publishing these videos is not only to narrate in detail episodes from the splendid life of Don Bosco, but also to help you grow closer to God, to arrive at a perfect love of God. Remember that if we depart from this world with a perfect love of God, we go straight to heaven. This is possible by God’s grace

In reality, as this guy in the video stated, it is terrible research and used improper methodology. I suspect the reason it's not even on their website is because they have been exposed for their unprofessional research and false conclusions.

Another casualty of Bible-only Christianity....it's important to note that most heresies, JW included, base themselves on their particular reading of the Scriptures. That is why it is so important to have A Sacred Tradition that is inherited from ancient times, so you can say, 'that's an ingenious interpretation of the Scriptures, but it doesn't accord with the inherited understanding of the text, as inherited from the Patristic Fathers.' So the role of Sacred Tradition as umpire for these disputes cannot be overstated.

@larysnw418 if both of these events happened in 1914 it goes to show something very different going on with the interpretation of what Jesus was talking about this generation. Those apostles saw the events of what happened in there generation. The watchtower organization interpretation has to ADD another generation to save face. 110 years compared to 40 years tells you there is a big difference in the time frame of a generation. The way David Splane explained it in his video could allow for 40 more years by his own reasoning. Then what. A failed prophecy and the wrong way in how to interpret scripture as the watchtower consistently does. They read the Bible as if it is a novel which only leads to singular arguments. You are correct about the apostles having a misguided understanding of acts 1 vs 6 but at that time they were still learning. It was not until the holy spirit came that they had the knowledge that Jesus promised them as the helper

In 10 years time would you still consider yourself to be a Jehovah's witness. Too many are starting to wake up that maybe Armageddon is not going to happen in accordance with the watchtower organization policy. From an observational perspective the Jehovah's witnesses look like a fantastic religion but as you study more you can clearly see there views are misinformed. As a group of men interpreting scripture around a table is all you get is a man's interpretation and that is fine if you want to join a country club. The Catholic and orthodox teachings have been passed down by means of the apostles, church fathers and down to us today. It is the continuity from christ himself.

“Like Tom here, do you like to be in a Jehovah's Witness and he was doing well there, but he realized that it has false doctrines and a faulty theology and was started by a man and not Jesus Christ.”
      Reply,
“… but he realized that it has false doctrines and a faulty theology…”
      Take one example!
I was a Catholic for over 20 years and still have my Catholic catechisms, a large one and the other, a pocket size one with a red cover, 1971 edition and says:
Q “How is my soul like unto God?”
A “My soul is like unto God because it is a spirit and immortal”
Q “Why do you mean that my soul is immortal?”
A “By immortal, I mean that my soul can never die”
      So, this is Catholic dogma/theology.
Yet, without burdening the readers with what the original Greek and Hebrew says on the matter of the soul and even what your own Catholic scholars and other authorities have to say also, your own Catholic Douay Bible flatly contradicts your own Catholic dogma/theology, yet, both are from the same Catholic church!
      Let me refresh your memory!
Texts from the Catholic Douay Bible
      Gen 2:7
“And the Lord God formed man of the slime of the earth: and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.”
Here, man (like the animals) became a living soul; only when God breathed into Adam’s nostrils the breath of life and the body became animated, that Adam then became a living soul, he did not possess one, he was one; the difference between being a dog and having a dog!
      Gen 3:19
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return to the earth, out of which thou wast taken: for dust thou art, and into dust thou shalt return?”
The person Adam with a single centre of consciousness, a living soul, was made from the dust of the earth, and because of his deliberate rebellion against his Creator, God, his wages for his sin was the death sentence, when he died, where did the onetime living soul called Adam go to?
“…thou return to the earth, out of which thou wast taken: for dust thou art, and into dust thou shalt return?”
The bible is very clear, the living soul, Adam in time died and went back to the dust from where he was taken! The bible, nowhere mentions that any kind of so-called spiritual or spirit part of man continues to exist after his death, the complete person the soul Adam died and his flesh perished, decomposed…back to dust!
The bible also tells us that a Hebrew was not to touch a dead soul, lest he be unclean…and that, also a soul can, eat meat, sweat and thirst, be stuck with the sword, faint, also that a soul can die, be destroyed, be saved:
      Ezek 18:4, 20
“4 Behold all souls are mine: as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, the same shall die.”
“20 The soul that sinneth, the same shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, and the father shall not bear the iniquity of the son: the justice of the just shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”
      Math 10:28
“And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Whatever one wants to think what the soul is, the fact is, that it can be destroyed!
      James 5:20
“He must know that he who causeth a sinner to be converted from the error of his way, shall save his soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.”
By now, you must realise what is going on here, your Catholic catechism says one thing, that the soul is a spirit and is immortal, yet, your own Catholic Douay Bible says the opposite!
Q How can the Catholic Church be both right and wrong, simultaneously?
      How is immortality defined?
      John 5:26
“For as the Father hath life in himself, so he hath given the Son also to have life in himself”
      “life in himself”?
Immortality is that special and unique quality of life, such as that possessed of the Father, that it is self-generating, it cannot die, or be made subject to death, cannot be made subject to corrosion, be dissolved, be made subject to any kind of corruption…! Thus, if man does have an immortal soul, as Catholics and others say, as per their dogma/theology, then the above texts that a soul can die, be destroyed, be saved would be utterly meaningless!
Catholics have embroiled themselves in their own contradiction and cannot see it, it has to be pointed out to them by an apologist JW!
And this single example of your self-contradictory Catholic dogma/theology is what the ex-JW apostate “Tom” has gone over to!
Additional information for any Catholic who should happen to read the above.
      (From my research notes):
In the Bible, “soul” is translated from the Hebrew neʹphesh and the Greek psy·kheʹ. Bible usage shows the soul to be a person or an animal or the life that a person or an animal enjoys. To many persons, however, “soul” means the immaterial or spirit part of a human being that survives the death of the physical body. Others understand it to be the principle of life. But these latter views are not Bible teachings.
Do other scholars who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses acknowledge that this is what the Bible says the soul is?
      New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967):
“There is no dichotomy [division] of body and soul in the O[ld] T[estament]. The Israelite saw things concretely, in their totality, and thus he considered men as persons and not as composites. The term nepeš [neʹphesh], though translated by our word soul, never means soul as distinct from the body or the individual person. . . . The term [psy·kheʹ] is the N[ew] T[estament] word corresponding with nepeš. It can mean the principle of life, life itself, or the living being.”-New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967), Vol. XIII, pp. 449, 450.
      The New Encyclopædia Britannica (1976):
“The Hebrew term for ‘soul’ (nefesh, that which breathes) was used by Moses . . . , signifying an ‘animated being’ and applicable equally to nonhuman beings. . . . New Testament usage of psychē (‘soul’) was comparable to nefesh.”-The New Encyclopædia Britannica (1976), Macropædia, Vol. 15, p. 152.
      The Jewish Encyclopedia (1910):
“The belief that the soul continues its existence after the dissolution of the body is a matter of philosophical or theological speculation rather than of simple faith, and is accordingly nowhere expressly taught in Holy Scripture.”-The Jewish Encyclopedia (1910), Vol. VI, p. 564.
      And lastly:
What is the origin of Christendom’s belief in an immaterial, immortal soul?
“The Christian concept of a spiritual soul created by God and infused into the body at conception to make man a living whole is the fruit of a long development in Christian philosophy. Only with Origen [died c. 254 C.E.] in the East and St. Augustine [died 430 C.E.] in the West was the soul established as a spiritual substance and a philosophical concept formed of its nature. . . . His [Augustine’s] doctrine . . . owed much (including some shortcomings) to Neoplatonism.”-New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967), Vol. XIII, pp. 452, 454.
“The concept of immortality is a product of Greek thinking, whereas the hope of a resurrection belongs to Jewish thought. . . . Following Alexander’s conquests Judaism gradually absorbed Greek concepts.”-Dictionnaire Encyclopédique de la Bible (Valence, France; 1935), edited by Alexandre Westphal, Vol. 2, p. 557.
“Immortality of the soul is a Greek notion formed in ancient mystery cults and elaborated by the philosopher Plato.”-Presbyterian Life, May 1, 1970, p. 35.
“Do we believe that there is such a thing as death? . . . Is it not the separation of soul and body? And to be dead is the completion of this; when the soul exists in herself, and is released from the body and the body is released from the soul, what is this but death? . . . And does the soul admit of death? No. Then the soul is immortal? Yes.”-Plato’s “Phaedo,” Secs. 64, 105, as published in Great Books of the Western World (1952), edited by R. M. Hutchins, Vol. 7, pp. 223, 245, 246.
“The problem of immortality, we have seen, engaged the serious attention of the Babylonian theologians. . . . Neither the people nor the leaders of religious thought ever faced the possibility of the total annihilation of what once was called into existence. Death was a passage to another kind of life.”-The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria (Boston, 1898), M. Jastrow, Jr., p. 556.
Really, you and the apostate ex-JW Tom don’t have a leg to stand on!
      You’re welcome to him!
What you also fail to mention to readers, is that, literally tens of thousands of Catholics each year abandon the Catholic Church to embrace the biblical God and his son Jesus and reject your metaphysical Platonic ones, no wonder the Catholic Church in Italy is concerned about its members abandoning the biggest part of Babylon the Great, the Mother of the religious Harlots!
And, that was only on one teaching, dogma/theology of the Catholic, so-called immortality of the soul! Your own bible exposes such a lie!

Because you have never been a JW you are in the best position to wake them up.
I was born-in and it was Scriptures read in context that woke me up, Praise the Most High.
JWs won't talk to ex-JWs and get suspicious of current JWs asking questions. Anything negative about the history of the Organization they connect with "apostates".
But JWs are trained to answer sincere questions from those they consider 'unbelievers' (aka anyone that's never been a JW.)
So my best advice if you want to help them wake up is to know your Bible and ask a question they can't answer.

I was a Catholic for over 20 years, born and bread, always listened to my Catholic priests and that is all I knew, that is, until I grew older and started my studies in Greek, Greek philosophy, Patristics and much more, when old enough I confronted my local priests with my finding on certain Catholic doctrines, which I proved to my priests were borrowed pagan teachings, re-dressed to look biblical, but in reality had no biblical basis at all, even the late respected Cardinal John henry Newman admits as much in his "Essays"!
Here is one example on the "Soul"?
I still have my Catholic Catechisms (one a pocket size from the 1970s and the other a larger more indepth one!
In my pocket size Catechism for example it says that the soul is a spirit and is immortal and cannot dies, yet my Catholic Douay says the direct opposite and says it can die!

@@CatholicTruthOfficial in my experience with dealing with JWs, there are two categories of doctrines to distinguish: core doctrines versus tangential doctrines. Though "Tangential Doctrines" are still dogma, they are not really what the religion is about, the TDs are mostly there to add uniqueness to the religion to help it stand out from other "denominations". This is where transfusions, holidays, birthdays, and even the Trinity fall into for the JW. The JWs use these TDs as a way to be easily recognized since they don't want to be seen as just another form of Christianity. In my experience, it is largely a waste of time to spend too much effort on the TDs, because the JW isn't really concerned about them, and their religion would still substantially exist even if they began to allow transfusions, holidays, using the name "Jehovah", etc. The JWs really only attack the Trinity as a way of shaking the faith of weak Christians, and when their faith is shaken then they are far more open to hearing the JW message. It would be like if you refute Sola Scriptura, then a Protestant's whole world is shaken and he is now better disposed to accept what other things the Catholic has to say. The Trinity is an easy doctrine to attack because most Christians don't know how to easily properly defend it like they should. JWs don't mind wasting time on TDs because they know there's not much risk and that you will get tired out first.
So if Catholics want to be truly effective, they must focus their energy on the Core Essentials, which the JWs are most concerned about, and which they are not really able to defend since they aren't built to defend these CEs. The chief doctrine in the mind of every JW is that the Bible is a prophetic book that tells us when Jesus will return, and that since they are the only ones who honestly studied the Bible they were able to determine that *Jesus was to return within our own lifetime* hence the literal timeframe of Jesus returning within "one generation" of 1914AD. They claim that since all other "Christian" groups didn't realize the massive prophecy that *Jesus was returning literally any moment to establish God's kingdom and restore paradise to earth* means these other "Christian" groups aren't credible in interpreting the Bible, only the JWs are credible. And the JWs further discredit mainstream Christianity the JWs often point out how most of us downplay/ignore Biblical prophecy, and invent whacky doctrines like the Trinity and Hellfire. So Catholics must focus the bulk of their energy on CE things like (1) how 1914 cannot genuinely be derived from the Bible, (2) how it's been over 100 years since 1914 and thus their prediction is rapidly losing credibility, (3) that their interpretation of "end times" texts about signs to look for like Matthew 24 and Revelation 12 are blatantly problematic, (4) and especially that Catholics take Biblical prophecy very seriously, especially the prophecy of Daniel 2. The Church Fathers point out Daniel ch2 blatantly predicts the Catholic Church would arise during the Roman Empire and grow to fill the whole world and never be destroyed. JWs freak out when you show Daniel 2 proves Catholicism. They aren't expecting Catholics to base their Catholicism so firmly on Biblical prophecy.
Failure to distinguish TD from CE doctrines is why JW apologetics has historically not been very effective. This is shown by the fact Catholic apologetics to JWs never focuses on Daniel 2, never addresses the JW spin on Revelation ch12 and Matthew 24. The modern JW doesn't care one bit about what Charles Russell said or that 1975 was a false prediction or what their magazine said in the 1950s, because that was a long time ago and because their CEs are still not being addressed and Catholics aren't taking back Biblical prophecy on the exegetical level. For example, we need to show the JWs the "war in heaven" in Revelation 12 cannot be referring to Satan being cast out in 1914AD so he could start up WW1 upon the earth.

God put eternity in our hearts, and that is mentioned in Ecclesiastes 3:10, 11 "10: I have seen the occupation that God has given to the sons of men to keep them occupied. 11: He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has even put eternity in their heart, yet mankind will never find out the work that the true God has made from start to finish." They love bombed her. I lost Christmas and birthdays and the rest of my family became “bad association.” They pointed to the paganism in Catholicism, they pointed to the name Jehovah, in the KJV, 4 times. they had their checklist of good characteristics that they focused on and their checklist of all the bad things other groups did, like go to war, get involved in politics, voting for worldly leaders rather than foe gods kingdom. Much of it made sense. But along with it, they provided community, and a social network that my mom, and then I, didn’t have. And so the brainwashing or child indoctrination began and it worked.

By the way, as an agnostic I find the idea of not existing worse than the possibility of being bored forever. Boredom after all isn’t some basic fact of reality, but merely a psychological response to external circumstances. Funny enough, I often have had this argument with atheists who the idea of eternal life would inherently be terrible

Please help me. I was baptised a Catholic through my own will as an adult but I’m having a hard time understanding that Jesus is God. How can he be God if he talked to the father whilst on earth? When I hear Jesus was with God. How can he be with God if he is God?

JN. 1:1. "And Jesus (the Word) was with God and the word was God. Jesus is God but within the God head there are three persons, Father, Son, And Holy Spirit. Think of it like a 3-leaf clover. There are 3 distinct leafs but only one flower. So the father and the son and the Holy Spirit are distinct from each other in person, but one God in nature. Does that help?

@@CatholicTruthOfficial Sorry but that analogy only serves to represent the falseness of the trinity doctrine!! 3-leaf clover. "There are 3 distinct leafs but only one flower" You fail to mention that each leaf would be fully flower just as Father, Son and HG are are each fully God but only one God. How does one even make sense of this? It seems your own cohort vehemently disagrees on it's usage...
Here is Mat Fradd(Catholic Apologis and Speakert): The Catechism teaches that, “The Trinity is One. We do not confess three Gods, but one God in three persons, the ‘consubstantial Trinity’.
The divine persons do not share the one divinity among themselves but each of them is God whole and entire: ‘The Father is that which the Son is, the Son that which the Father is, the Father and the Son that which the Holy Spirit is, i.e. by nature one God.’
In the words of the Fourth Lateran Council (1215), “Each of the persons is that supreme reality, viz., the divine substance, essence or nature.” (CCC 253)
The reason I don’t use the three-leaf clover as a teaching aid to explain the trinity is that it has a fatal flaw; namely, it has parts! God does not. Jesus (or the Spirit, or the Father) is not three a part of God, he is God “whole and entire.”
      Tritheism
The three-leaf clover can therefore mislead a person, especially a child, into falling into the heresy of Tritheism. Tritheism was (and is) a heresy which taught that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit were three distinct Gods who shared a similar nature rather than the truth of there being one God in three persons who share an identical nature.

Him we believe to have been sent by the Father into the Virgin, and to have been born of her - being both Man and God, the Son of Man and the Son of God, and to have been called by the name of Jesus Christ; we believe Him to have suffered, died, and been buried, according to the Scriptures, and, after He had been raised again by the Father and taken back to heaven, to be sitting at the right hand of the Father, and that He will come to judge the quick and the dead; who sent also from heaven from the Father, according to His own promise, the Holy Ghost, the Paraclete, the sanctifier of the faith of those who believe in the Father, and in the Son, and in the Holy Ghost. "The trinity belief(3 gods in one) was a pagan belief."
The trinity teaches that God is 3 persons in 1 God. It was a Jewish belief (Benjamin sommor).
"In 325 C.E. Roman Emperor Constantine approved of it(the trinity) and later, Roman Emperor Theodosius officially established the RCC."
There is no evidence for this claim.
