    during one summer in Missoula, I used to shop at a relatively small grocery store (relative to Ralphs, Albertsons, etc). I noticed they were really well stocked with a variety of pickle brands and decided I should try some new ones. that is how I discovered Mt Olive, which became my favorite jarred pickle (before that I probably ate vlasic dill spears which had good flavor and color but not great texture). agree with others that Mt Olive are well worth the price (and I haven't tried even half of their varieties)... as a kid I grew up on claussens and think they have good texture/crunch but the flavor is a little more salty than dill/garlic (in my memory)... wow who knew that people were so passionate over dill pickles...

  • @brianczuhai8909
    @brianczuhai8909 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    My choice is Safe Way. Plus, they are cheap and Krogers sells them. The key is a uniform crunch and bite thru the skin and pickle with no mushiness or harder skin. Mt. Olive is 2nd. My favorite brine is Vlasic Sweet Heat.
    I grow and make my own pickles. Fermenting is a must. It gives me that uniform crunch and bite thru the skin and pickle. Brine flavor you can control and spice it how you like.
    Buy a couple of brands. Compare and contrast. More expensive ones aren’t necessarily worth the cost.

    Lacto fermentation is the only way to go.
    When it comes to kosher, pickles like you get in real delis, that is what is served.
    My aunts all came from Poland, and Bubbies are very close to what they used to make.
    Ba-tempte is the other authentic lacto fermented pickle on the market. They are about as good as Bubbies.
