its a ww1 plane in the first 2 levels and in lvl 3 turns to a ww2 plane and in lvl 5 turns to a a-10 warthog

The fact that this update adds a map picking lobby so you don't have to fight people for a map that you want in elevators in hardcore is such a good qol

@@Dispencerhere No I meant that you don't have to wait for the map you want and get the elevator filled with randoms. You can just get in a solo lobby and if the map you want isn't there, you can just rejoin since hc doesn't have a lot of maps to begin with

The swap direction ability feels like a last minute addition, would’ve been so much better if it did a figure 8 pattern and then continued the opposite way, it would’ve been more realistic (not that the game is real) but visually much more pleasing than suddenly reversing directions as if planes do that
They could animate a maneuver like the split s when changing directions
yeah it feels unnatural but hey if it had to do an animation before it could turn the ability would probably be pretty bad
If you swap it too much it should just crash and die (the pilots aren't skilled enough)
It might be against TOS to make it able to suicide bomb lol

The planes are as followed:
Level 0-2: WW1 biplane (not 100% sure what kind)
Level 3-4: a WW2 P-47
Level 5: The classic A-10
i believe level 0-2 is the Boeing P12

0-2 is ww1 modle of the biplane 3-4 is ww2 p49 5 is the a10worthog with 300lb bombs and a 30milameter gau 7 barrel gatling gun

Hey Corso! You might not see this, but it would be undoubtedly amazing if you did! I just have a suggestion for your videos, most especially for videos where you review towers such as this video.
I recommend adding some kind of color or an underline to the text you're reading. I think it'll make it easier for people who aren't that experienced with TDS and for the general audience to understand what you're saying. Especially useful for these kinds of towers that have a lot of stats and quirks compared to towers like scout and paintballer. Thanks!
Tip : spam max level ace pilots on the u turn map and grab a dps tower

These probably we work was amazing. The ability to swap directions is a useful tool. When do the enemies are getting way Off the range. Change the direction of the ace Pilot was going. And there no more enemy leaks. Well, at least it will attack more constantly least. But there also noticed the trailer for the reworked Ace pilot. Where at 0 minutes, 26 seconds. Into that video. There it shows a helicopter. Which means that the pursuit would be rework next I can't wait to see how the developers would handle the pursuit.
The level 3 design is the P-47 thunderbolt and max level is the A-10 warthog. But it would be cool if level 3 was the A-1 SkyRaider

Noah, I agree with you since the A-1 skyraider is the reason we have the A-10 warthog. Also, it was even used during the Vietnam War, a time when they used jet powered fighter jets.
ace pilot figure 8 is legendary in U turn map. and when you pair it with DJ and Ranger for the rang boost, its even more overpowered because its shots are much more consistent and its shooting the first enemy most of the time
I love this; I already used the ace pilot as my main dps tower, and this just makes me happy.

Major W from tds here, took a concept from btd6 and made it a tad different. I really like how this synergies with ranger now. Ranger can’t see camo and gives range to nearby towers. Plane gives camo to nearby towers and gets a nice boos from range!

Direction change reminds me of BTD6 it was a much needed addition and micro-ing the ace is now possible
With the range the ace pilot has at max level, if you place it right next to a path it and with the right orientation, it can always cover some part of the path, letting it unleash its full dps uninterrupted on a horde enemies
Amazing tower now, probably high S tier or S+, it is amazing I used it in hardcore and put it at the 8 loop and whenever a tower lightly touched the corner the ace would never stop hitting it. It is amazing, fun to use, really great value, really good early-mid-late, and all round amazing.
A GOOD REWORK ON AN ALREADY GREAT TOWER??? TY DEVS (especially for that perm hidden detection)
Fun fact: the max level plane is a a-10 a retired military aircraft used to take out ground troops and heavily armour vehicles but it was retired because it was easily detectible on the radar and being massive and the minigun on the front is made by the same company that makes washing machines spin “no one makes things clean and the other one makes things dissapear.”

I have to mention that if you watched the ace pilot rework video you could see a reworked pursuit at the end of the video when the zombie tris to run from the explosion
Might have a theory i think tds is listening in corsoblox old vids like the "8 Features that should be added in TDS!" Beacause they added challange map this update like he said in the video.
if u get a almsot perfect circle and 2 max planes close to echather flying both in different directions u can get always a hit on the enemy and a pretty much always bomb cross the circle
Honestly I almost thought they gave the ace pilot wingmonkey and I would have lost it. Other than that the addition of a figure 8 path is really good and makes it much more viable on more maps that aren’t loops or turns.
A really effective way of using figure 8 is turning ace tower before placing it on the opposite way the path is going, then go figure 8
My personal favorite about the new rebook and became a A-10 warthog
I used it to solo molten, and it was pretty good.
what i do reccomend is to make it always fly in the opposite direction and switch every 3-4 waves.

This was the last tower i got, just about 2 weeks before this update haha, pretty happy about it now
the only thing that originally stopped me from using the ace was the inability to micro like BTD6, now I have no reason not to use it
I hope next they add another support tower similar to the top path alchemist in BTD6 that buffs raw damage instead of just range and attack speed
you could use merc base for that
A-10 Thunderbolt II is a great choice they chose for its final level since it fits the real role perfectly as a close-air support.

Like rhe mil base ace didn't need a rework but the one it got allows it to more versatile in certain maps and also gets a great surport option as MOST surport towers either don't deal damage or deal really low damage

We arent getting UAV and any consumables into HC, but with this we can effectively use the hiddenless towers

I had this weird glitch that after using the bomber plane power up the ace's bombs were giant only effected the visuals though not the range of the bombs or anything
Generally a really cool rework. I personally like the new design and its unique flight paths. Ace pilot can get pretty useful now. So W buff/rework in my opinion. :)

I noticed ace pilot has hidden detection at lvl 0 (even if game don't say so), i'm not sure if they fixed it already, but yesterday it were killing hiddens before lvl 4.
finally some buffs for my fav tower commando now he can have stealth detection

It's a w agree when it's low s but i don't agree about the boss round when you hit the boss once turn it around and it will do the same amount of damage that will be pretty overpowered when you know how to use it

A lot of towers are much better now but the gamemodes and other major aspects are beibg reworked soon, so I think it won't last.

they really made it function like BTD6, definitely a welcomed change though.
keep in mind that ace used to have 200 dps, honestly a good rework, and perm hd is very good for towers without hd (cryo, ranger etc.) It can attack more consistently, probably giving it more dps than the old ace pilot, starters definitely needs this!

I used it today and it did more damage than my miniguner that i had from early game
I love that the reworked ace pilot's flight path to make it more reliable. Plus the permanent hidden detection is really good for people like me who use ranger a lot. However I the think that the damage and value increases were too much, and now ace is too op. It can handle pwII early game on its own, which no intermediate tower should be able to do. I think tds should keep the flight path and hidden vision reworks but nerf the dps and value

they basically took the switch direction and figure 8 from btd6, but im not complaining!
They bassically fixed 2 main flaws of Ace pilot- circlular Path only and one direction
