He has auto lead detection at lvl 0, His shock time is not dependent on the enemy size therefore bigger enemies dont get slowed less and instead are slowed the same as small enemies(I.E a max electroshocker will both stun an abnormal, a small enemy, and the Amalgamation, a big enemy for 0.5 seconds.) while he cant fully stop, he can however slow down bosses and enemies with energy immunity. Quote from the Wiki: " For bosses and enemies with energy immunity, the enemy is not stunned and is rather slowed down by 25%."
I have a loadout for him too, DJ, Electro, Farm, Accel, Turret, This is for polluted. If you need to defend on early waves; just replace turret with golden soldier, golden scout, or militant.
the dj allows you to max out your towers earlier which could be the difference between killing an amalgamation and leaking it, after you max out every tower you can place, the range buff is still amazing

I feel like commander is nice to have in your loadout. However, DJ is more useful in my opinion because very helpful to be able to upgrade more expensive towers (e.g. Turret, Accelerator, Engineer, etc.) and the range buff is useful for some towers with small ranges (e.g. Warden, Gladiator, other melee towers, etc.). So I would place DJ as best support. (If my opinion is way off about some towers, please forgive me as I don't have all of the towers I listed.)
In gamemodes like hardcore, DJ and commander is a MUST HAVE for your towers but on other gamemodes like fallen and molten, you kinda don't need the comfort of the cost reduction by DJ but you really need that boost from commander. So Imo Commander is clear of DJ.
Dont forget about the fact that you can chain the commander ability if you have 3 commanders placed that are on level 2 which is now pretty easy after the keybinds update and if you have someone who knows how to chain well you can have a permanent 55% boost on the towers that are in the range of the commander
One can argue that the attack range is just as good as the discount as towers with higher range gets a chance for more dps overall since it allows you to attack 35% more of the time. Obviously commander chaining is far superior, i just think its also important to outline the niches the dj also have. I am aware some, if not most towers already have a large range and most of the time dont need to extra range like mini and ranger.
Frost blaster was op when it first came out, I remember you could solo molten, just using frost blaster with supports Then frost blaster got nerfed so badly that its almost useless

Freezer's freeze is terrible even when spammed, like it feels less like a freeze and more like i am lagging, because bugger enemies unfreeze faster(i also noticed that Sledger freezes enemies differently, because agaunst bigger enemies they still get frozen. I also agree strongly with electro being underrated, he is so fun to use

Yes, polluted wastelands gives you a lot of cash in general, but the dj discount will help you get max accelerators, rangers, engineer, and other good towers WAY faster, while also giving them a lot more range for them to attack. Yes, the commander buff is good, it’s just that you also stated how the dj’s 25% discount is basically like a 25% more dps you can afford, this makes it sound and be way better. In my opinion, dj is better.

i think it depends on which gammode u do, dj is really helpful on hardcore because since hardcore has price inflation, dj can help solve that problem by lowering the price, and even though the prices despite with dj discount is higher, dj really comes into play in hardcore
Commander is so much better for hardcore when you solo, not even comparable. You should always early game, electro or ranger, dps, eco and buff which is commander.
same with commander, the firerate buff helps with fast enimies such as the tank, although i still think theyre equal and i use both of them all the time
if you place your farms in an area that the dj can reach, (or i guess the dj is placed near the farms) it can provide a good boost of money to your teammates, that can mean life or death. usually when your farming you are only a few hundred dollars from the upgrade, the dj can close that gap and make you upgrade your farms, and towers earlier

dj vs commander broken down (my opinion) dj gives you a less money upgrade and commander just gives you a fire rate boost, now alone, commander is pretty good, such as in badlands and in pizza party where the biggest reason for you to win is commander ability spam, but you’ll have to chain it, causing you to spend a lot more cash, and take up more space. for dj, you get to spend a certain amount of money, to cheapen your farms, and other troops. for example, it costs you 1 thousand dollars to get tree farm, and they give you 500$ per wave. meaning 2 waves can make up for the loss of your cash, with dj, it would make it 800$ meaning you’ll have an extra 200$, this may not sound very useful but when you are solo grinding for golden crate it is very helpful to know. another thing, dj gives you a range boost, so in the matter of let’s say accel spam, that can be very useful, since max level accel will go down from 34k cash to 27k cash, which is a 6k reduction on price. plus the range buff will make accel have up to 2-3 charges per wave, instead of the usual 1. lastly, commander won’t do much good at higher levels, since if you are using commander on an accelerator it barely works, it still works, but not so well. i remember trying this out and my accelerator fire rate went from 0.08 to 0.06 for charge speed on max, now i’m not saying it’s bad but it’s also not so good. commander ability does not work on engineers’ turrets nor on helicopters (i think). so in my opinion dj > commander. plus, 1 dj in a quad game is all you need to save the day.
Sonething to point out is that sledger can actually inconsistently hit hiddens and shadow bosses if another enemy along with the shadow boss/hidden is within the range of the sledger.
range buff is pretty amazing for gamemodes because fear is a thing and if you don't have a dj when your tower's ranges are reduced to nothing there is nothing to do even more firerate can't help you because your towers can't fire range is to underrated
So glad for the rework they did to toxic gunner where he is actually using the machine gun in his hand as a machine gun not a burst gun he is worth the grind that I did for it.
i'm gonna throw an argument here, bosses like the nuclear monster or wox the fox, have an ability which reduces tower range by 50% and the best way to "counter" this is to have a max dj changing from a -50% debuff to a less drastic -20% debuff.
imo the warden and sledger should've been next to each other due to similar function and preference for your loadout and which fits your loadout better, or the gamemode that you'll be playing. Another thing about the warden, though, is that it is able to affect enemies that are "immune" to its stun by slowing them instead of fully stunning them. The sledger can't do this, it can't slow enemies with a freeze immunity nor slow them, and it cannot hit hiddens, so its a bit more of a situational tower, as it should be, being a event tower.
That’s to contract the fact that more enemies are immune to electricity than ice and electro shocker does the same thing with a higher range and actually has splash damage but anyway you have your opinion I have mine

Sledger has much more dps, and can hit hiddens by accident if its in range and sledger tries to hit an other ennemie. But whats realy important is that he doubles everyones damage to ennemies he freezes not only his own witch is why, in my opinion he is the best stunning tower (and the double damage is usefull even for bosses, as you can kill they'r minions way faster)

@@clementlabrit9006 also warden has its stun block ability, which helps take the stomp of the boss and the stun of the fallen guards as stun bait, while sledger can't do the same as it'd get stunned by the fallen king and the fallen guards would ignore them, not being able to be used as stun bait.
as an casual sledger enjoyer i am baffeld, disgusted and increadably angry that you forgot to say 1 thing about it it can also hit and freeze hiddens due to its ability to attack multiple enemys at once
Dj and commander are both heavily recommended but for like solo hardcore you use commander and not dj since dj doesnt really buff dmg as much as commander
Id place warden 3rd cuz yes warden spam with better boss dps aka single target plus the fact it can be used for baiting stuns paired with the fact u can place 20 instantly makes it better for pizza badland and polluted cuz it can prevent the bad rng from getting into ur base with stuns(and yes I wrote a whole essay for wardern being 3rd)

I think the dj is better for mid game, because you would have 5,000 dollars at least. if you wanted to get an accelerator at lv 4, that is a good investment.
I think commander is really good due to Call to Arms, being chainable. Freezer is bad but in early levels spamming it can be good. Toxic gunner is bad, as it has not the best DPS and its debuff is not that good. IMO DJ, Commander, and Sledger are the best.
In my opinion dj and commander are at the same level. Since there are towers who can’t attack but still need the discount of the dj. Farm for example. Also, the range boost on the dj tower is very useful in a lot of strategies like Luccile. Also, dj is very good with engineer.
Dj is needed for polluted 100% because its the only tower that gives range it allows accels to see the entire map or most of it without it you will have to costanly micro your towers which is stressful and reduces the time of you doing damage
Recently toxic gunner got full fixied, he now is giving the real 10% slow per hit stacking to 50% but no longer have permanent poison, also poison doest work at lv 1-2 (this was a glich that mades hin deal poison at level 0-2)
I appreciate your ranking list, but I don't agree with the fact that commander is the best support tower, tbh saying that 20% discount is 20% dps already makes your calculations wrong, best way to calculate it's dps is by doing this: Let's say you want to place 5 accelerator accelerator when maxed is approximately 50k$ without the dj, this means 50k$ for each accel is 250k$ Taking this into consideration with discount, it'll be 40k$ with dj, when maxed, which means the price is lower with 50k$ that adds another 400 dps for one more accelerator, so dps depends on the unit you are placing, and the range buff is extremely important I don't know why you didn't take it seriously, but range buff sometimes is the reason you win. Especially in polluted wastelands. commander has only one unique ability and it's firerate which makes the towers around it's 'range' getting dps when using it's call to arms, and 'range' takes us back to the DJ's ability.
I think that farm should have been in the list. It is probably the most used tower in the game and it is very versatile in any deck you use. Farm would probably be higher that DJ but commander should be No. 1
Honestly if it was in this list I think farm would be 1. Because if you have a loadout with things like accel or ranger, then without farm it's just ridiculous trying to get anywhere near max upgrades for them
my ranking: 1: commander 2: medic (it can help you more than dj for game modes like hardcore polluted since there’s a lot of extra enemies like soul) 3: dj 4: pyro (it helps for big defense enemies like slow kings and more) 5: electro 6: sledger 7: ace pilot 8: toxic gunner 9: frost blaster 10: freezer (please rework 8 9 and especially 10)
Pyro and ace aren't support, not even in the slightest. Both make great dps when used in correct scenarios, and can save lots of money in key rounds for certain maps. I agree with the rest, but don't diss the pyro and ace by calling them "support". (yes ik hidden detection and defense buff/debuff)

For me the main reason why its better sledger than warden is that literally there a lot of enemies with stun inmunity and there much less with freeze protection
I remember back in the day when i was playing the gladiator event me and my friends spam freezer because it could freeze bosses and others just spam mini the freezer was the best support unit back then but they nerf it to the bottom😢
I think that warden is fairly placed sorta, but it’s not really meant to be a support tower while it’s support has multiple times saved me from a tank killing me, i had placed 2 wardens close to each other and pretty much stun locked the tank, aswell as dealing good dps. Bu I’m biased as a warden user so take this with a grain of salt
They should make it so you can only have 1 commander, but it will call in the convoy from level 1 for free and automatically every 45 seconds not having the missle one adding it at level 2 than level 3 nakes it spawn every 30 seconds than level 4 doubles ho than level 5 adds damage
Also warden has a placement limit of 20 but that's not a problem if you have a full party and only an issue if you are soloing a gamemode. My load out for normal mode is farm, warden, dj, accel and another support or dps tower molten mode its cowboy or warden DJ accel farm and electroshocker I agree electro is very underrated its a very good tower depending on the map as for fallen I need a good strategy to beat it I can get to wave 40 but I anyone has any ideas to beat fallen let me know. Also for fallen I use cowboy(maybe I should use warden instead) DJ accel farm and commander.

Commander solos. Dj used to never exist and we got along just fine

I'm pretty sure 99% of tds players always bring farm, and commander doesn't buff the towers to 2x firerate. It's 55% buff, 1.55x. 2x firerate buff is 100%, 2.00x

Sonething to point out is that sledger can actually inconsistently hit hiddens and shadow bosses if another enemy along with the shadow boss/hidden is within the range of the sledger.
range buff is pretty amazing for gamemodes because fear is a thing and if you don't have a dj when your tower's ranges are reduced to nothing there is nothing to do even more firerate can't help you because your towers can't fire range is to underrated

So glad for the rework they did to toxic gunner where he is actually using the machine gun in his hand as a machine gun not a burst gun he is worth the grind that I did for it.
i'm gonna throw an argument here, bosses like the nuclear monster or wox the fox, have an ability which reduces tower range by 50% and the best way to "counter" this is to have a max dj changing from a -50% debuff to a less drastic -20% debuff.
imo the warden and sledger should've been next to each other due to similar function and preference for your loadout and which fits your loadout better, or the gamemode that you'll be playing. Another thing about the warden, though, is that it is able to affect enemies that are "immune" to its stun by slowing them instead of fully stunning them. The sledger can't do this, it can't slow enemies with a freeze immunity nor slow them, and it cannot hit hiddens, so its a bit more of a situational tower, as it should be, being a event tower.
That’s to contract the fact that more enemies are immune to electricity than ice and electro shocker does the same thing with a higher range and actually has splash damage but anyway you have your opinion I have mine
@@Counltdooku I wasn't talking about electroshocker though, I was talking about how warden and sledger should be next to each other because they're so similar in function and how using one might benefit one playstyle/loadout more than the other.
Sledger has much more dps, and can hit hiddens by accident if its in range and sledger tries to hit an other ennemie.
But whats realy important is that he doubles everyones damage to ennemies he freezes not only his own witch is why, in my opinion he is the best stunning tower (and the double damage is usefull even for bosses, as you can kill they'r minions way faster)
@@clementlabrit9006 no sledger has less DPS if we consider single target, plus it doesn't double everyone's damage, just it's own and other sledgers. It still can't hit hiddens consistently either, so that point is invalid as well.
@@clementlabrit9006 also warden has its stun block ability, which helps take the stomp of the boss and the stun of the fallen guards as stun bait, while sledger can't do the same as it'd get stunned by the fallen king and the fallen guards would ignore them, not being able to be used as stun bait.

I choose dj as the best support tower because I can play any song I like. That moral boost is sometimes all you need

Dj and commander are both heavily recommended but for like solo hardcore you use commander and not dj since dj doesnt really buff dmg as much as commander

Both are solid its just depending on what tower you will use if its an high damage tower then its DJ and if its a low damage tower its ofc commander

Id place warden 3rd cuz yes warden spam with better boss dps aka single target plus the fact it can be used for baiting stuns paired with the fact u can place 20 instantly makes it better for pizza badland and polluted cuz it can prevent the bad rng from getting into ur base with stuns(and yes I wrote a whole essay for wardern being 3rd)
At the end of the day the goal is to get as much dps as possible. As commander said: battles are won with brains, not just brawn.
I don't wanna brag but, what about swarmer and farm? I understand that swarmer might be a damage dependant enemy or something, making it more of a dps tower but farm would be better to be on this list. Anyways great video
Farm is exclusive to "eco" like Cowboy. Swarmer I have no idea since I don't have the tower.

I think the dj is better for mid game, because you would have 5,000 dollars at least. if you wanted to get an accelerator at lv 4, that is a good investment.
I think commander is really good due to Call to Arms, being chainable.
Freezer is bad but in early levels spamming it can be good.
Toxic gunner is bad, as it has not the best DPS and its debuff is not that good.
IMO DJ, Commander, and Sledger are the best.

In my opinion dj and commander are at the same level. Since there are towers who can’t attack but still need the discount of the dj. Farm for example. Also, the range boost on the dj tower is very useful in a lot of strategies like Luccile. Also, dj is very good with engineer.
Dj is needed for polluted 100% because its the only tower that gives range it allows accels to see the entire map or most of it without it you will have to costanly micro your towers which is stressful and reduces the time of you doing damage
And commander is needed because the boost gives all towers in range a 1.55x boost, which can be op

Recently toxic gunner got full fixied, he now is giving the real 10% slow per hit stacking to 50% but no longer have permanent poison, also poison doest work at lv 1-2 (this was a glich that mades hin deal poison at level 0-2)

I appreciate your ranking list, but I don't agree with the fact that commander is the best support tower, tbh saying that 20% discount is 20% dps already makes your calculations wrong, best way to calculate it's dps is by doing this:
Let's say you want to place 5 accelerator accelerator when maxed is approximately 50k$ without the dj, this means 50k$ for each accel is 250k$
Taking this into consideration with discount, it'll be 40k$ with dj, when maxed, which means the price is lower with 50k$ that adds another 400 dps for one more accelerator, so dps depends on the unit you are placing, and the range buff is extremely important I don't know why you didn't take it seriously, but range buff sometimes is the reason you win. Especially in polluted wastelands. commander has only one unique ability and it's firerate which makes the towers around it's 'range' getting dps when using it's call to arms, and 'range' takes us back to the DJ's ability.

I think that farm should have been in the list. It is probably the most used tower in the game and it is very versatile in any deck you use. Farm would probably be higher that DJ but commander should be No. 1
Honestly if it was in this list I think farm would be 1.
Because if you have a loadout with things like accel or ranger, then without farm it's just ridiculous trying to get anywhere near max upgrades for them

2: medic (it can help you more than dj for game modes like hardcore polluted since there’s a lot of extra enemies like soul)
3: dj
4: pyro (it helps for big defense enemies like slow kings and more)
5: electro
6: sledger
7: ace pilot
8: toxic gunner
9: frost blaster
10: freezer
(please rework 8 9 and especially 10)
Pyro and ace aren't support, not even in the slightest. Both make great dps when used in correct scenarios, and can save lots of money in key rounds for certain maps. I agree with the rest, but don't diss the pyro and ace by calling them "support". (yes ik hidden detection and defense buff/debuff)
@@xogxreaper9230 it really depends. I personally like to use pyro for slow kings and more, and ace pilot to give hidden detection to my other towers without hidden detection like lower level ace pilots or even in late game for souls with ranger.
@@A8Key Ace hidden detection ability is kinda irrelevant, most of the time the ace itself can deal with the hidden enemies itself or the HD time runs out before hiddens even spawn
And for hardcore is really situational in many specific waves

For me the main reason why its better sledger than warden is that literally there a lot of enemies with stun inmunity and there much less with freeze protection

I remember back in the day when i was playing the gladiator event me and my friends spam freezer because it could freeze bosses and others just spam mini the freezer was the best support unit back then but they nerf it to the bottom😢

I think that warden is fairly placed sorta, but it’s not really meant to be a support tower while it’s support has multiple times saved me from a tank killing me, i had placed 2 wardens close to each other and pretty much stun locked the tank, aswell as dealing good dps. Bu I’m biased as a warden user so take this with a grain of salt
They should make it so you can only have 1 commander, but it will call in the convoy from level 1 for free and automatically every 45 seconds not having the missle one adding it at level 2 than level 3 nakes it spawn every 30 seconds than level 4 doubles ho than level 5 adds damage

Warden got buffed in a recent update making it pretty op and a better tower overall.
Also warden has a placement limit of 20 but that's not a problem if you have a full party and only an issue if you are soloing a gamemode. My load out for normal mode is farm, warden, dj, accel and another support or dps tower molten mode its cowboy or warden DJ accel farm and electroshocker I agree electro is very underrated its a very good tower depending on the map as for fallen I need a good strategy to beat it I can get to wave 40 but I anyone has any ideas to beat fallen let me know. Also for fallen I use cowboy(maybe I should use warden instead) DJ accel farm and commander.
+1 point to dj for lighting the mood with music (even though you are leaking a ton)
Fun fact that makes sledger actually better: frozen enemies (at the lvl 4 upgrade) will actually take 1.5x more damage from ALL towers
they only take 1.5x damage from the sledger not from all towers

I don't really think that warden is a support because support can't deal with enemys that well, but warden can do nearly anything with high damage
