This album, produced by Daniel Lanois (it shows), is a hidden gem of the 90's and one of my favourites. This is their best work, the songs are great (i dare to say, a little "trip hoppy"), the production is top notch and the mixing goes along. Forced myself to buy the CD 2 years ago from Discogs. Came brand new, still wrapped in cellophane. The next week bought "In search of Manny". Even with the help of the Beastie Boys, this band deserved way more, but grunge, post grunge and nu metal "killed" a lot of great bands during the 90's. Do yourself a favour and listen to it with a good set of headphones.
I have to agree.. thet deserved much more exposure than they got. Back in the 90s I remenber that my bar's jukebox had their song on the playlist, "Naked Eye". I played it every chance I could, even on a quiet tuesday night. Made for a nice break from Zep's Stairway to Heaven and such.
"There were two fellers standing on a bridge goin' to the baffroom...One feller said the water was cold, the other feller said the water was deep....Get it?"
They never got their due - this is SO great, and I am only hearing it now. And to think of all the time back then that I was tortured by endless rotation of Candlebox and Bush. Ugh...
Do you know of any other female lead songs kinda like this from the 90’s?? I’m trying to find this one girl who was a very popular singer/DJ in the 90’s I can’t remember… Her name was two words “something-then a female name” like this band, kinda sounded like this group but was one girl who was really a DJ… in her most popular music video it starts off with her in some open store front putting a record on a turn table and spinning and dancing and getting ordinary people to dance with each other… she was very 90’s “alternative” attractive, always wearing huge thick heeled platform boots/shoes, short skirts, belly button shirts, and crazy hair/heavy lipstick/makeup. I know she ended up becoming a huge DJ(possibly outside of USA) and even still played shows well into her 40’s 50’s still looking great with people nowadays(newer generations) not even knowing her from her “90’s” singing hit(s)… PLEASE let me know if that rings a bell or ANY possible guesses!!! THANKS!!!
I just learned the news today. I thought of that moment when she winks at the camera. It's a moment that made me happy in the midst of sad news. What kind of cancer did she have?
Although I downright loathed many of the biggest '90s radio "hits", there were SO many wonderful little gems such as this. These lesser known songs were what made that decade, as a rule. Great sh!t
I saw them live with Social Distortion...they opened...I didn't pay enough attention to them (well their music at least) I started listening to them on CD and they really grew on me. I sent my sister a copy. I recently got another CD of theirs in a grab bag (listening to it now) REALLY GOOD MUSIC. A unique sound that I have not heard from anyone else.

Last time I was in San Fran which is it good long time ago went to the store on heat Asbury.. as some of the original singles and also when you play with the bees bees. Sorry I'm Irish Catholic from Chicago and I have a hard time texting but this is Jackson's is my favorite band. When I play drums I started dancing and blues track of rhythm track of the rhythm
Awesome video, particularly when looking at some of what's going on today in high-quality staged shoots of life performances. Just awesome. The song, the band, the look, the movement, the _way_ Luscious Jackson sounded together, just nothing else like it.
I remember apartment hunting back in 2012, my listing agent was riding us around to the viewings in his car playing the "Natural Ingredients" album, it's how I heard LJ for the 1st time. "Fever In, Fever Out" ended up being the record I latched onto. Christopher Nagy, wherever you are, thank you
Duuuuuude! That shit was life-changing for me! I was 13 years old and just developing my musical interests. I went to some of the cooler-looking kids at my junior high school and asked what bands they listened to. And I watched MTV. Some of these bands were only showing up on Beavis and Butthead, but they got my attention. I got Gin Blossoms too, LOL! I also got Anthrax, Megadeath, Tool, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Guns n' Roses, White Zombie, Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, and Slaughter. I listened to those CDs so much. I was lucky that my parents were supportive. I decided after a few months that I wanted to be just like Kurdt Cobain and play the guitar. About a year after my BMG music box arrived, I bought my first guitar. BMG had a lot to do with this. There is no way I could have afforded all those cds.
Totally into the bass player, I miss the 90's. I didn't pay enough attention to Luscious Jackson, but after hearing a few of their songs, it made me feel nostalgic. I might have to buy some their songs off of itunes.
I remember when I first recorded this shit off the radio when K.Rock was still around. I was hooked off them ever since I heard Deep Shag and this joint sealed the deal.

Love the breakdown at 3:14, makes me think I'm flying like superman and then comeback down when the chorus returns. Great song writing like this sure doesn't exist anymore :/
I first heard this band listening to Sirius Lithium on an airplane on the way to Fort Lauderdale Florida, and I'm glad I discovered them, because having only listened to two songs I'm already obsessed.

I first heard this on holiday in florida (I'm from UK) I used to listen to this while playing GTA (the first one) with my mates on a LAN with 2-Base-T Coaxial connections.
wow...it was in 1995 and in one of Seattle's bars that I 1st saw this band. It was like 40 Celsius in the bar and the lead singer, at that time, came in from the street wearing this bright orange shag fur coat and hat. They completely set the filled bar room into a frenzy of dancing!!!

Great album, for sure. Still prefer Fever in Fever Out personally.

@@Rotary_Phone Two guys walk into a bar. The guy in front turns to the guy in back and says, “did you see that?”

I FEEL YOUR PAIN 😣😣😣
What's wrong with Bush? They had some good songs.
And Collective Soul
Depends on where you're from I guess, 99.1 WHFS (R.I.P.) used to play this alot when it came out.
Without candle box and Bush, there would be no Creed or Nickleback 🤢🤮
Loved this band in high school (in the 90s); introducing my three year old to them now. She will know good music. Yes. Yes she will.
How is she now
Sorry to hear about Vivian Trimble
Rest forever in power, sweet lady!
Thank you for your music and talent!
❤😢❤
Love the band. Electric Honey is my favorite album. RIP Vivian.
Ho-Ly shit! I had to google this, so sad. Super bummed.

That two-octave harmony between Jill and Vivian makes this song, oh along with the beat and everything else.
I just read the other day the girl that played keyboards sadly passed away. Vivian Trimble....RIP.

Still one of my favorite songs. This was the first CD I ever owned.
My favorite Luscious Jackson song. So good, and this video makes it even better. The band looks sexy and the plot is tight. Great job ladies!
These ladies have had a permanent space in heart(other places as well) since "In search of Manny".." Life of leisure" is still dope asf in 2019!!.

🤣🤣🤣I used to just pic out my favs but never ordered it. Had some friends who did. Plus everyone was stealing from the wall n other record stores

i'm gettin' in
under your skin
i got the hungry eye
at a northern spy
i watch your smile
my words they float
in and out of the light
i try to make sense
but it's still a fight
we got a smokey past
where minutes last
it took so long to leave so fast
it might not be sweet
feeling this heat
lie down in the fire with me
i burn everything frequently
if it don't feel good
when you first get in
wait 'til it gets under your skin
lie down underneath the breeze
can't cool down when you're down with me
if it don't feel good
when you first get in
wait 'til it gets under your skin
some deeds done wrong
won't scare me long
i've done a few
maybe one or two
if you want to know
all of my original sins
ask the virgin
she knows where i've been
if it ain't too far for you to come
and you want to get to know
someone
it might be sweet
feeling this heat
lie down in the fire with me
i burn everything frequently
if it don't feel good
when you first get in
wait 'til it gets under your skin
lie down underneath the breeze
can't cool down when you're down with me
