A bunch of people in the comments are missing the point of his poem. He is not talking about simple rejection. He is talking about the females that string guys along with no intention of dating them. The ones that know how the guy feels about them yet they keep him close without ever giving him a chance. And just when the guy tries to get over her, they sink their claws in deeper. So it's really just this vicious cycle of a selfish girl and a naive boy. It is a shame that you guys are on a poetry channel yet you seem to not know how poetry works...
I dated a "nice guy" once. He had low self esteem. I spent most of the relationship trying to convince him that he was enough for me. I loved him and I wanted him to trust me. I guess i stroked his ego a little too much, because after a few months of dating, he dumped me. He told me he didnt want to settle. I was not expecting it at all. He broke me....he literally used me to feel good about himself and then went off to date bigger and better. Sometimes, nice girls get fucked too.... but anyway, good poem. Enjoyed it.
DOPE!!! Most of us know this guy and some of us created him. Nice guys are underrated. Many women lead nice guys on and use them for their own selfish purpose when they know better but they like the attention and the company with not having to give much in return. They use men like that so they don't have to be lonely and so they can have a man by their side who offers them what the douche bag they are being neglected by doesn't which is consistency. Men have to pay attention to the red flags when it comes to women like he is describing, they may seem like the damsel in distress but leave them where they stand . Find a woman who is mutually interested and that cares about you the same and it will save you so much heartache.
Nobody owes you their heart, but the man has a point you've got to tread lightly when there are feelings involved. The best way to avoid most pain in a relationship is to be honest, there are enough guys out there that only want to be a girl's friend, the 'nice guys,' are just those who are confused about where they stand. It cost a girl nothing to clear up the confusion.
Nice piece, Bruh. I know what you mean, because I been there myself. Ultimately, the best thing to do is to learn from it, heal, and to not allow it to change you in a negative way. Peace.
Man, this is really sad of how the world manipulates us :(( Us girls need to realize that bad boys won't get you NOOOWHERREE trust me. You nice guys hang in there!! Stay strong and hold on to your truth. Cause there are good girls out here, we just gotta search deeper and let God take over the situation and He will lead you to her ^^
I hate how so many girls are complaining about this poem. I am honestly guilty of this and I know most girls are too. Stop saying all you wanted was friendship. Stop playing dumb. Most times we know when a guy likes us and we love the feeling of being liked so we string them along even when the feeling isn't mutual. And wheb they're about to leave, we hold onto them because we don't want them to stop liking us. Enough with the victim card. Own up to it. And if you're not guilty of this, shut up and move on. If you complain, I don't'think you get the true essence of the poem.
Take the poem for what it is. It's about how life is, how we actually feel. Not how we are supposed to feel, or the right way to feel. It's an explanation not a justification. The only issue I can see anyone having is the subtle blaming of one's own character transformation on another person. "I am asshole because someone accepted my love, accepted my friendship but rejected my romance, so I rejected any of their love, all of their friendship, because it was not the kind of love I wanted, not the kind of love I value," But still this poem is about feeling used, even if one is not being used. It's a small piece of complex thought. It is what it is.
Girls don't owe guys anything, yes, but it isn't fricking fair to string a guy along with zero intentions of giving him a chance and just expect him to be there whenever you see fit. His feelings matter, and all you girls jumping to the "I don't owe you anything" don't see the point of the poem, you don't see where he's coming from, and you're probably guilty of treating some poor innocent guy who cared about you, like an option if you don't get what this means.
wow I can't believe how callous many women are towards his story, but if he was a girl it would be all cool and the person this poem was directed at would be deserving
Most of y’all are missing the ducking point. The pome ain’t saying girl’s own us for being nice or getting rejected or being friend zone. It’s about a guy being led on and when he’s done and try to get over her she fucks with him and keep repeating that shit. And the guy had enough turned into the bad boys and fuck boys, one night stand and shit m.
Only reason y some of u girls a trashing this guy's poem is becuz ur guilty and one sided. U act like men are the biggest problem in the world, when wen are just as bad and some may even be worse. Srsly, take it from another woman, grow up
You're not using someone if you're only attracted to them as a friend... I understand that it's poetry and it's how he feels but that doesn't make it right. We can't be perpetuating the ideal that a woman has to fall for anyone who is nice to them. Just like men have choices women do too.
Rejecting a person is upfront and honest which hurts but isn't bad. However leading a person on, wasting there time, and taking advantage of them is selfish and wrong. But as for the men who fall victim to these type of women have to develop a backbone and don't allow themselves to be a sucker for a pretty face.
dude you gotta chill ok he is talking about a guy who does everything for a girl but is "stuck in the friendzone" but the thing is the friendzone isnt a real thing, women don't owe you shit for being nice, you like her? tell her, if she doesnt like you back im sorry but its like that. and dont refer to someone as a stupid piece of shit because thats shitty and makes you look stupid especially since you're in the wrong.
bruh this is irritating. beautifully written and read but so very very very irritating. as a black woman critiquing a black man, this shit is annoying.
+André M still you are saying all black women. Not all of us want thugs and gangbangers. I've always had crushes on the nerds and bookworms. And I know many other black girls who liked the nice boy. You do need to realize that sometimes the nice guy likes the pretty girl, the popular girl and friend zones the bookworm/nerdy girl. its a fucked up cycle
Baybee Tacoo I've never said All black women.... i just said black women. if it doesn't apply then it should bother you... unless you're guilty of it. like most black women.

You guys aren't understanding the poem but I wouldn't expect simple minded people to.
Did these vids just come back or something?
wow I can't believe how callous many women are towards his story, but if he was a girl it would be all cool and the person this poem was directed at would be deserving
he starts by saying this is called "Breaking Bad" but the title says 'Nice Guy'
Grant Smith Exactly. A shameful bit of social engineering from whoever runs this channel.
WOW,so many subs.Wow so ,so many
Someone should make a poem in response to this poem dealing with a guy with a broken heart. That would be interesting..
I NEED A TRANSCRIPTION FOR THIS... ANYONE??

I Can't Deal With Rejection! - The Musical
I dont feel for nice guys, they should just look for girls who want them.

Rejection is a normal part of life dude. Why don't you just get used to it like everyone else?
exactly
movingdragons lol tell this to these females who call every guy "fuckboy"...tell them that's just rejection.

+André M don't generalize a whole group of people.
Baybee Tacoo they usually don't until they have their fun.
