It's a free game. and for a free game it has given more than most of the recent triple A games. The best part is, you can only buy cosmetics. Your equipment, weapons and armors are all farmable (and can never be bought by real money). That for me is a great game. Chill and fun.
Feel as though they messed up with the regular weapons we should have some cooler weapons like alien guns rail guns and shit not aks and shit lol I'll just play division
I will admit that I’m still kind of directionless with the game despite its story… but I enjoy it. I enjoy it more than a lot of other games! So considering it’s free and still somewhat new which can lead to improvements… seems like it’ll last as long as the company has money.
Been playing this game and not once did I felt forced or motivated to buy anything from the store. Which is a plus. It's just fun to take your time. Loot and explore and just goof around.
In the first day and first hours of the First Descendant, my friend tried to buy battle-pass and I have stopped him. We have played some, finished the story and left the game; the grind was evil kind. Anyway, if I wasn't there to stop him, he was definetely going to buy frames or cosmetics for a game he would play only for 30-35 hours and leave. Some people built different, trying to buy before try.
Yeah but then it'd sound like they're stupid a-holes trying to tell you not to try things for yourself and only listen to their oh so expert opinion on what you should and shouldn't get for your own enjoyment...
Best thing about Once Human is that developers are actually listening and improving the game. We already had many patches where they fixed, improved or removed certain aspects that players complained about. They also recently had an interview with Pirate Software and what came out of it seems promising. Its too early to dismiss this game based on what Jake said.
I’m really enjoying this game; it has a chill vibe. Although I’m not usually into survival games, this one has hooked me. The live service elements don’t matter much to me, but the gameplay is simple and engaging. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I always appreciate hearing your views 🙏🏾
Game is more like Secret World meets Remnant, and a lot of H.P. Lovecraft atmosphere. and you DO NOT need to pay a dime for anything, it is not needed. My friends and I have been playing since launch fully free and nothing is paywalled. it's only cosmetics.
@@PrestonMaxey No, me too. But not entirely in a good way. TSW had a lot of crap in it too. Great spooky first area with the zombies then I lost interest.
I’ve been playing the game for around 8 hours and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it with all the stuff you can do between exploring and boss battles and all the little activities you can do. I think a lot of people forget too and something you didn’t mention is the pvp aspect as well. There will be base raiding and player combat as well which is gonna be sick if they do it right because imagine you and your group are fighting a boss and outta no where another group pulls up to try and ambush you to take your loot etc. I like high risk games like that with that survival aspect
@@GreatKingCody Dude calm down why would they wanna see your furry porn folder -.- To be honest people screaming "Spyware" i think are just to wind up no one cares about your little private life.
20hrs in, not bad for live service. they usually cannot hold my attention this long. building is fun, but can be finnicky at times, story is compelling, bosses are cool, map is huge. idk how long it will last but i'm into it way more than i was the first descendant.
@@MaraxisArcanist It seems like some people are enjoying multiplayer, but you can totally play and enjoy by yourself (you still see everyone running and fighting around you, is very funny some times). And if something is to hard, you can always invite random people to help you.
@@MaraxisArcanisti played up until the second zone solo, i completed every side quest and main mission up to that point, i cleared out most of that corner of the map and i got to a respectable level for the next zone, it was so fun, especially exploring would recommend a solo run
I'm the opposite way; The First Descendant is infinitely more fun than this, tried it out for a friend. But this is coming from a decade-long Warframe player, admittedly.
@@calebfillman8815another is “the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” meaning the exact opposite of what most people think the shortened version means. Basically the company you choose is better than one you were born/forced into
No the " but oftentimes is better than a master of one" part was something writers in the 21st century started adding to the line but the Original phrase Jack of all Trades was not used as an insult but a genuine complement that someone had great understanding of many subjects the master of None part was added later changing it so a more negative or ambiguous turn of phrase
I'm 20 hours in and it's been awesome. I don't feel like buying anything has been pushed on me, i didn't even know there was a store and battle pass until almost 10 hours in. Building is fun- there's even premade blueprints for houses that are free and you can move your base as you progress to be near higher level raw materials or lake front or in the woods. wherever you want. I got the wish machine early and got luck and drew a purple level assault rifle that wrecks everything but even still gun play is great the way you can stay in 3rd person or move into the scoped view for precision. They've added more servers that are hard levels and more pvp, added dlss support. constant updates and fixes- they're actually listening to the community.
>200 Hours Later >my opinion:- I'm none but ill recommend maybe try getting upto level 50 then you should judge this game. >Slow paced:- you have to finish the main lore. Then you'll understand the main story. Half of the map is locked for 2nd season(way of winter) you have to transfer character >Season reset:- season reset around a month, you can keep Blueprint and things you grinded for hours. >Trading:- Some resources can be traded like ingots, craftables, character buffed items, specialized items, else >Cosmetics:- battle pass have skins init, also there are some crates. Where you have to spend real money.(I haven't spent a thing) >Building:- Base building is essential part of game, many time helps in fast travel. There are some bugs init but it works eventually. >Resources:- once you start the game you have to go through all the resources collection stuff then you have enough level and deviant(Creatures). It gets far more easy. Most of the area have crates that give you blueprints, that help you unlock new weapon. Higher tier weapon have higher damage. After all MMO is about number advantage. >Grind:- There is an initial grind, if you are a new meta. Once play this game for a week it becomes challenging than grindy. Like you have to clear a dungeon you must have enough level to equip Better weapon.
if its a F2P, and the model is done well. meaning no pressure with shops etc etc, just lets you play accumulated premium currency, has events and stuff than it could be a good model. I mean Genshin is an example where they introduce you to the mechanic, than they leave you be. Its up to you to go to the wish shop.
I understand your point, but Genshin is not a good example because of Powercreep u will have to either fram a tremendous amount of primogems or buy the currency to have it easier in the newer regions.
@@armagamingtv8525 I never farmed Primos. and manage to get most of the 5 star characters. If you want to have 5 star weapons aswell. I can see why you need to spend. I get your point though.
First time i have to disagree with Jake. This game is Early Access, and was marketed as such, except not on the Steam page for some reason. I get what Jake is saying, but even in Early Access, Once Human is the most fun i've had both solo and with friends. The survival aspect is good, the storyline is linear, but there's no need to follow it if you don't want to. The building and customization are great. Thge atmosphere changes in a very natural way so you get a bit of everything. Wanna go out on a cleaning spree? You can. Wanna get underground, explore deep storylines and fight bosses? You can. Wanna get a nice view of the land while fishing in a lake with the sun on your face? YOU CAN. Once Human speaks to many players in different ways, and that's exceptional in it's own. You can spend money on cosmetics and ''looking cool'', but for the real experience you HAVE to grind. Once Human is a great survival game for both beginners in the genre and experienced players, and with it still being in Early Access, this game has huge potential.
I disagree with him but dont usually. Me and my mates are enjoying playing it and I considered buying some cosmetics today because I am happy to support it and have played on it for a day or two so am happy to give them some money. It might be because I am not a hardcore gamer but my other mate is and we are playing along together. It’s fun.
Jake those multiple currencies are almost all free currencies you get from progression. Only one of them is premium. The others are things you get for doing stuff, like questing, salvaging stuff, etc. True, there's like way too many "store" and other currency pages, and it's pretty confusing to look at, but you can't buy most of the stuff in them with real money. Only one actual store takes real currency, and again, it's mostly cosmetics. The battle pass is $9.99 and is only cosmetics and a few consumables and currencies that you can get in the game anyway. I'd say the more important reason to get the battle pass is to support the devs. The free battle pass is pretty generous.
I know people love to hate, but I've been dreaming of a looter, builder, apocalyptic, multiplayer PvE shooter game ever since I played Days Gone in 2019. No game has satisfied that craving until now with this free game. My friends and I played from 12:30 AM to 7:30 AM, non-stop, without even a water break. It was incredibly fun, and we got deep into the story without feeling pressured to buy anything. We spent hours on missions and even more time building up our base. The only thing that concerns me is the potential server wipes. If there's no way to transfer my base to another server, that would be a big disappointment. But honestly, this game brought me the most fun I've had in a long time. I haven’t pulled an all-nighter like this with the guys since high school, and I’m 24 now. That speaks volumes. For anyone doubting it, name me another PvE looter shooter builder game that comes close. I love that we can each do our own thing and loot individually, then team up for missions. I’d just recommend making sure your friends hold off on missions until everyone’s ready; doing them together makes it way more enjoyable, especially since you can even take on bosses as a team. This game is amazing. Lastly, I will gladly waste money on this game if I ever want a cool skin because I have bought multiple $40-60 games trying to chase this ideal game I had in mind since 2019 and not one delivered so you know what this game delivered what most triple AAA games couldn't. So I will gladly waste money.
Been playing this game for 4 days with friends got 26 hours on it so far and i have been enjoying it. You dont need to spend any money just play the game and have fun. For a free game this is alot better then most of the games out there
Kinda yeah, i miss TSW a lot, but this game seems to have A LOT of sunny, beautiful days. Lot's of comments talking a bout having a "chill time"...i mean, nothing chill about a 6 legged bus walking around....so something is off
Did all the closed betas and am currently playing it, you're definitely gonna feel the TSW nostalgia everywhere you look in this game. I've been loving it for the weird factor that's saturated throughout!
I've been having a lot of fun with it. I've really been enjoying the building most. The combat is easy, killing lvl 20-25 when I was a lvl 10. So far that would be my only complaint. Only because it's free to play.
It's typical live service trapping, the the first 30-40% of the story will be easy mode/tutorial stuff to ease you in.... then "POW" your hit with the grind and difficulty spikes which make you want to pay to go back to being easier.
Devs addressed and improved major feature one day after i submitted survey feedback Filled out a survey in game, checked boxes negatively on the experience of vehicles in game. They then give you a option on the next page to detail your issues, so i explain how the handling is dogsht and it'd be so much funner traversing if it was better. Not only did they massively improve the handling, but they also added improved biking animations which i thought was an awesome touch. GG devs
I think you missed it in this one. There is no way to buy progression or advantage. Any purchases are simply cosmetic. The server wipes don't affect the main things you are trying to get, blueprint. And there's a eternal server you can't use for permanent building.
After 150 hours. It's very beautiful, the sound atmosphere is excellent, the pets are fun. The game is very complicated, the quest management interface is poorly explained. In fact, it's not an MMORPG, you don't meet another player every day, there is a reset at the end of each season that makes you lose your house, money, map and discovered areas and you have to start all over again while keeping your weapons. To this day I still haven't been able to upgrade one, too complicated and very difficult. The lifespan seems 200 hours unless you like going around in circles.
It's just a title they've been using and it doesn't affect anything at all. If you want "before you try", go make your own, I'm sure it doesn't matter and you'll still get less than 10viewers.
To anybody considering playing, Netease has a habbit of not allowing you to switch servers. Lifeafter, a mobile game Netease released a while ago, is pretty much the foundation of once human. Any cosmetics you buy are server bound. Only way to join a new server is to restart completly, so say goodbye to your cosemetics. People are still speculating how server wipes work and that you can join a new server after the wipe, i doubt it.
Idk if this was a thing at the time of the comment but there are 2 seperate inventories. One for your current server and season, and one for cross server accessories which are mostly the purchasable cosmetics.
Ive played this game, I have enjoyed it a lot, as a triple AAA title player, this one feels peaceful even refreshing. Im new to MNK and its also good practice, it reminds me of The Division 2 and The last of us met in a MMO!
This might be the first time I disagree with Jake, I am actually enjoying this game a lot, in the 3 days that I have been playing it, I already lost the track of time twice (it would have been three times was it not for my wife jaja) and that has not happen to me with any game, in a very long time. Sure there are microtransactions, and season pass and all the GaaS crap, but without any of that, you can still get actually pretty good loot, and I personally don't feel the game to be too grindy, for example, every resource node gives you a pretty decent amount of resources, and even more with upgraded tools (unlike Subsistence where you need to chop 1M trees for a foundation and two walls). Is not flawless in anyway, it can be a bit janky, buggy and what not, but I have not had any single game breaking experience (aside from a few T-Posing or sliding character, which some times happens in online games, so is not that bad). I do agree with jake, in that there is a lot of lore and background story and what not, but I am not that into that, so personally i am not affected by that. I love that I can play PvE, which means I don't have to worry about random players ruining the experience for me. The game does have a ton of content, and that is both good and bad, good because there is a toon of stuff and exploration bad because it can be a bit overwhelming.
For a free-to-play game, its very well made, and doesn't pressure you to buy buy buy. Even so, it's a free-to-play game, they gotta make money somewhere. Don't let this review scare you off, don't let the ftp scare you. Its a alot of fun and even more so with friends
I don't agree with few points mentioned in this review, I enjoyed playing this game to level 21 solo without spending any money, most games lack this kind of creating, leveling, looting. I was very surprised that this game had few features that's lacking in recent most games, specially on building/moving house. At the moment I am exploring and doing main story, not much of a story but content is great. But I do wounder what's next once I am done exploring whole map and story. I find this game way better than first descendant on leveling, exploring and grinding.
Your comment about it feeling soul less surprised me, horses for courses I guess coz I've been captivated by the entire quirkyness of this game. It's like a looter shooter meets wizard of Oz kinda vibe. Sure, the grind element is a bit taxing but I can think of many games with worse grind factors, especially F2P games. I don't like MMO's but this one has me interested.
I enjoyed the early playtests well enough, but the single biggest drawback to this game is the 6-week "season" resets. Being forced to start over so often means nothing has any value, and so, the game feels entirely wasted. I know Rust does the same thing, but Rust also has ways around it. This does not. It's a big enough issue that I feel Jake should have mentioned it too.
There are way around if from what ive heard. A lot of your items don't reset for example: cosmetics, blueprints, rare resources, your house "blueprints" are saved so all you have to do is hit a button to bring your house back after reset. When I heard the game had resetting every 6 weeks I was shocked any dev thought that would be a good idea... but when you do more searching and realize you actually get to save all the important stuff it actually makes more sense... i wouldn't count it out just for that, plus the devs have already said they are open to changing that based on how the community feels about it.
I've been having a lot of fun with this game. Theres been tons of updates and lots more to come. Do yourself a favor and try it. It's not like it costs you anything.
I'm extremely fed up with 'survival' games and 'crafting' with 1000 skills and 47 benches.... I just want a new god damn MMO that isnt shit or outright money grab.
I was excited for this, was surprised by First Descendant, got hooked onto First Descendant, downloaded Once Human, haven't gone back. But kind of neat you and Falcon split the work load.
7:00 That is because Net Ease is known for doing exactly that. In fact, I have played several of their mobile games, which are actually really good for mobile games, but they are all this same gameplay loop with different stories, skins and characters. I just started my playthrough of this game, and I immediately recognized everything mechanically because it's exactly what you said it feels like.
I understand not liking the game but it's definitely not designed in a way to get you to spend money at least not currently. There arent that many currencies. I played Lost Ark and BDO a little bit and they were ridiculous with currencies. Once Human has been alright with mostly just your typical survival resources you collect. For f2p I've been surprised how satisfying combat can feel and how intricate house building is. I'm only like 7 days in but it has been fun with zero pressure to buy anything. It's all cosmetics in the shop similar to LOL or Fortnite. Not saying they won't go p2w greed mode later but atm it's generous and non predatory. For that reason I'm gonna buy the battlepass even though there's nothing interesting in there to me. It's definitely underrated. I dont love some content being time gated but I get it. Calling this game soulless is wild though. For f2p it's underrated.
Thank you for doing the video in UltraWide! I always enjoy the Before you Buy videos, and having the ability to see what the game looks like in wide format is greatly appreciated!
For everyone who is not giving it a change because it is live service, I think you should really reconsider. I have played the game for a few hours now and there wasn’t a single moment where an in game purchase was thrown in my face. Yes you can of course buy cosmetics but not buying it doesn’t effect the gameplay. If you don’t like the gameplay then it is a simple no, but if it is only because of live service i think you should really give it a try!!:)
9:40 No game NEEDS voice acting. People play AAA games and expect voice acting in every game now, including from smaller studios. The more features gamers expect from studios, the more expensive it becomes for studios AND the more likely it'll become shit. People also don't like to read anymore. I'm on my second run of an isometric game called "Weird West" that although has voice acting, most of the dialogue has to be read and it's one of the best games that's been overlooked in 2022. I'm easily over 100 hours in that game on my second run.
I've put a couple of days into Once Human and it has surprisingly held my interest. The best building is pretty solid and it comes with two massive quality of life benefits; crafting pulls from storage and you can relocate your base fully intact without needing to tear it down. The quests are almost Ubisoft level of schlock but I ended up so over leveled that I've been plowing through them when I need a break from harvesting resources and crafting. The Deviations, your Pals basically, are very handy for the ones that do stuff around your base like gathering ore or wood. I honestly forget to use the combat ones. They are helpful but... nothing has been a challenge yet. I'd recommend a try as I don't feel as negative about it as Jake did. As more people play it I think it will gain a bit more soul.
This game looks innovative and fun. The fact that from the jump you kept a condescending tone towards the whole thing shows just how much you don't appreciate the devs vision, nor are you willing to stick with them to see things fleshed out. With such a negative outlook, it's no wonder you called it "pretty messy". Go play something else.
I love gameranx and i have been following you guys for like 6 years now and never once have seen you guys write such a bland review. I am not saying the game is the best in the year but it is good it is a solid 7.4/10 and it deserves the attention. The "ugly" areas which I haven't stumbled upon after 110 hours into the game and I see you have mentioned in the start it takes a while but that is true for most mmorpgs. And you did not talk about prime wars or dungeons or silos or any of that which is very fun and starts to be introduced after like 10 hours of gameplay which btw stil is really good and some side missions make you fully creeped out by the things and I get some areas are janky but your review makes it sound like the day before but 10% better but the game is much more than that and it deserves the credit.
Honestly the game has been amazing tbh yes they have a shop but it’s for cosmetic stuff only so there is no need for u to buy anything and that’s a massive plus been loving it people should really try it out !!!!!!
I'm very impressed with the games graphics quality to be honest it doesn't feel like a free game I'm just disappointed in the lack of controller support on release
with regards to ingame currencies; is this correct!? Primary Currencies: Energy Links: The most basic currency used for various in-game activities. Crystgin: A premium currency that can be purchased with real money or earned through certain in-game achievements. It's used for premium items and faster progression. Other Notable Currencies: Cosmetic Tokens: Used to purchase cosmetic items. Colorful Badges: Another currency for cosmetic items. Mitsuko's Mark: A specific currency with its own uses. Starchrom: Used for upgrading equipment and other purposes. Silver Keys: Can be used to open specific chests. Astral Dewlets: Another currency with specific uses. Astral Sand/Astrealite: Related to astral-themed items and activities. Stellar Planula: Used for character progression and upgrades. Lightforge Metal: A crafting material. Sproutlet: Another crafting material. Fish: Used in specific game mechanics. Formula Blueprint Fragments: Used for crafting blueprints. Warband Credit/Fund: Related to clan or group activities. Renaming Card: Allows you to change your character's name. Chrysalis Token and Butterfly Dye: Used for cosmetic purposes.
You talked about there being a Battle Pass like like so many other online games like this. Did you notice that all the paid items on the Battle Pass are cosmetic only?
Also I have my own camp with no one in it😂😂😂😂 When I first started, had like 20 something, people stopped playing for a while.Forgot about it , then came back to nothing but just me
I'd love to play this, but I can't unless I change how I play games. In the demo it was impossible to re-map the button F, so I couldn't play that. In the full release, F can be re-mapped, but E can't. The problem with these two keys not being re-mappable is they're part of the ESDF setup. And on top of that, you can't set inverted mouse. Who makes a game like this? It's absurd.
I was having fun with the game until i ran into a boss fight, and i noticed i was stuck in that particular save point. My weapons were breaking, and i couldn't log out to fix my guns, knives, machetes, etc. So i am basically stuck in limbo fighting this boss and his minions getting my a×s whipped over and over again. You can't fight with broken weapons on this game. The only choice i have is to befriend stangers and see if their going to help me push forward. That could be awkward because you have weirdos in these spaces. Nevertheless,i think 🤔 i might have to stop playing, which will suck because i really love the game, but i dont want to be stuck in limbo just keep dying. If anyone can help me,that will be outstanding. P.S. i hope the Devs fix this problem
With so many bad games these days I am surprised to be enjoying Once Human. There are a LOT of features in here inspired by other games. At first I slapped a foundation on the ground and randomly placed my furnaces and workbenches which was good enough, but later on I spent hours designing a cosy home that I can continue to upgrade and decorate as I unlock stuff.
@@voteforfire Levels are there just to kinda make the progression a bit more linear, I found it pretty natural and quick to gain levels. Levels only really matter for crafting, as with levels you unlock some crafting stuff and you specialize your character. Leveling up isn't really a grind tbh, it's getting blueprints for cool gear that's the main thing and you get to keep those after the wipe. So in general wipe is pretty much a way for developers to introduce new stuff for old and new players without making the new players start with a new character just to play through new early game content. I think it's a good system if done properly because it can make new and old players want to play the game.
It's not a full "wipe". The idea is that SOME of your progress gets reset so you have more things to do when new locations and objectives get added. The last thing you want is to be overleveled all the time and clear everything in 10 minutes and be done with the game until next season.
I was forced to get Diablo 4 for my gf. I kid you not I felt less pressure to buy anything from Once Human that is free than a game I paid for. For all the hate this game is free and I played 2 days ago and I want to go back. Sure it's live service and all and I can understand not liking that but honestly give it a try. if I play for 100h I'll most likely buy something NOT because I felt pressured but to support them. Seriously I got no pop ups, nothing on the interface that is flashing as a constant reminder that there are deals or anything. You have to press esc and go down to like events that expands to show shop. It isn't even the main header, it's a submenu, that's how little I was forced. The part that I worry about is them changing this model if it isn't profitable or they get greedy, this is the part we should worry about. Right now they are doing it right. How do we prevent them from changing it since its a live service. With that I will wait a while before paying them.
@AdonaiNate dawg i was so hype for starfield im a bethesda nerd after spending two years on skyrim Edler scrolls v i wanted something more in the worlds of bethesda the start of the game was good and actally interesting after getting through 20ish hours of the game i just got uninterested everything was just slow and boring after the beginning the combat is just not it for me but thats just my OPO
Really important that there is only one premium currency in the game, and "all of the other currencies" in the game are earned completely through progression and grind, and cannot be bought. There's a lot of them, but they all do have unique uses. My favorite part about this game is how little pressure there is to spend any money. The early game is confusing and everything is thrown at the player at once, but man when it starts clicking and you become familiar with everything, there's a lot of freedom in how you want to spend your time in the game.
The way I sold it to my friends: The game, as-is, is free and fun. The foundation is solid. And there are MANY systems in-place that can be built upon for future seasons. This isn't Skyrim, they don't need to give you everything out of the gate.
"As of right now it's only mouse and keyboard control, so some options and features are missing." I would think it would be the other way around. What is missing with kb+m?
Couldn't disagree more. I have 140 hours in since launch and this is my favorite crafting/survival game of all time. I have my complaints but overall it's incredible for a F2P game with zero P2W.
I only have about 8 hours into the game, and the experience has been slightly dry. I really like the "Journey" system to help you get to know the games mechanics and get a hand on things and progress fairly quick. Sure, a lot of it is rudimentary things like OP said, gather certain things and build things you're going to need anyways, explore areas etc., but it gets you playing the game pretty quick, and I haven't had to bog down world chat with noob questions. So far this game feels like a mash between Conan Exiles, Rust, Generation Zero, and a light MMO of some sort. I plan on playing more today and will update this a bit, I think you can't get a true feel for a game like this until you put in about 15 hours.
No spyware the terms of service has alot of blunt wording towards what your signing off on that sounds sounds "scary" doesn't state they share personal data but store personal information such a Social media accounts your ID along with a few other things. In reality they aren't scraping any information but stating the info you give them will be stored. Aka if you don't want them to have your info don't link your socials or buy anything that would need your banking/personal information.
I have to say… although this game has a battle pass which I absolutely hate in any game… this one is not predatory at all with it. Matter of fact it hasn’t popped up on any of my screens while playing it. The way I found out was but browsing the menus. Now I normally don’t play these type of games cause I’m more of a single player story type gamer, but with this I’m actually having a really good time playing and I haven’t spent a dime on it yet. I almost feel like I should buy something from them for support
I play for like 20 hours or more, then I decided to buy the battle pass cause I believed the devs deserved it. Progressing get a little bit fun later on. Game was fun to grind, not too repetitive like The First Descendant. Have a ton of activities to do and can always go out and find something else to do instead of spamming dungeon.
It’s free to play you need to know that before you start judging it to harshly. I haven’t spent a dollar on the game. Played it for about 8 hrs and I’m digging it. Solid 7/10 game I’d say and if it keeps me this interested for longer I might really find some love for this one I really like this game!
Honestly, I'm shocked they were able to put this many systems into the game and keep it free. Like you said, there are a TON of systems, an absurd amount of content, and absolutely none of it requires the purchase of anything. Everything for sale is purely cosmetic and I bought the battlepass because I want to support the game. There are certainly bugs (not a ton) and some things I would like to see polished, but that stuff doesn't happen unless devs get paid. I hope they're able to continue to work on this and make each system what it deserves to be, this game is insanely ambitious and I surprised how much I'm enjoying it.
Maybe it’s because I am not a hardcore gamer but me and a mate have been getting into this more and over the last few weeks dipping our toes in and just got started playing together today for a mega 12hr session. I hate to say it but we are having fun. The red buttery’s help show you where to go and that was added this week or at least we started seeing it on Friday. I think this game could get big.

It's a free game. and for a free game it has given more than most of the recent triple A games. The best part is, you can only buy cosmetics. Your equipment, weapons and armors are all farmable (and can never be bought by real money). That for me is a great game. Chill and fun.

Best thing about Once Human is that developers are actually listening and improving the game. We already had many patches where they fixed, improved or removed certain aspects that players complained about. They also recently had an interview with Pirate Software and what came out of it seems promising. Its too early to dismiss this game based on what Jake said.
they also interviewed people who played the beta on discord. Only sucked that the time was terrible for me lol. It's just way too fast
Yeah but they’re improving things within a game that sucks butt cheeks

>200 Hours Later
>my opinion:- I'm none but ill recommend maybe try getting upto level 50 then you should judge this game.
>Slow paced:- you have to finish the main lore. Then you'll understand the main story. Half of the map is locked for 2nd season(way of winter) you have to transfer character
>Season reset:- season reset around a month, you can keep Blueprint and things you grinded for hours.
>Trading:- Some resources can be traded like ingots, craftables, character buffed items, specialized items, else
>Cosmetics:- battle pass have skins init, also there are some crates. Where you have to spend real money.(I haven't spent a thing)
>Building:- Base building is essential part of game, many time helps in fast travel.

The free battle pass is pretty generous.
it's still horrible that they choose to add so many currency. i played on cbt and now on release and that still confuse me
I know people love to hate, but I've been dreaming of a looter, builder, apocalyptic, multiplayer PvE shooter game ever since I played Days Gone in 2019.

Well, guess what, you can switch server after season reset, i love that as i won't have to buy another cosmetics and met entirely new people
Idk if this was a thing at the time of the comment but there are 2 seperate inventories.

10:49 I mean, you could just rename these videos to "Before You Try" when they're free, instead of commenting on the guff you receive.
What ways do you mean in rust?
This does have a way around it. Google "Once Human Eternaland"
Not everything will be deleted, plus this game is a week old so anything could change at this point
@@Kim-oh9ng you will only reset level and resources the blueprints and cosmetics and house project gonna be there too

Once Human - Before You Try*
There I fixed it. 🙂

You clearly don't know what schlock is or don't actually play any Ubisoft games.
game’s free, change your title

@@KinsFluff don't need rewasd because Steam already has that built-in with community custom presets
with regards to ingame currencies; is this correct!?

Did they use the same assets as PalWorld? The game looks and feels like Palworld
"once human... didnt that come out like 15 years ago?" -my dumbass thinking about too human
I thought it was a sequel to that lol.
You talked about there being a Battle Pass like like so many other online games like this.
Did you notice that all the paid items on the Battle Pass are cosmetic only?
he didnt, he prolly played the game for 2h for sake of pumping out video, doubt he even checked whats in the store
Now it's free to buy on steam 😺
I totally disagree with some of this review. I'm totally addicted to this game. And it's totally free.
This looks just like their mobile game LifeAfter with a slightly different theme.
As long as they don't have the formula machine, spent way to long trying to get the different guns and armor.
The LifeAfter I want
Literally just said that before I seen this comment. But yeah , seems just like that game
@NCRranger11 Seriously. Though I still hate it to this day and my level was really high on there For no reason😂
Also I have my own camp with no one in it😂😂😂😂 When I first started, had like 20 something, people stopped playing for a while.Forgot about it , then came back to nothing but just me
The thumbnail already told me all I need to know 🤣
I'd love to play this, but I can't unless I change how I play games.
The Japanese do. They usually have quirks to game design.
"soulless" is a term i can understand in gaming. well said.
1 view in 11 seconds.. this guy fell off
Is what I WOULD say if I was a child what I will say is this guy is great and so are you!
I would play this but the seasonal wipes throws me off.
The important stuff you can keep and they wont wipe it off, they only wipe off resources and your progression
@@hallooos7585 In a survival game? Yeah. No thanks.
@@hallooos7585 I really wanna play this also, but my LEVEL gets wiped? Why? What's the fucking point in playing then? Lmao
GOTY for me, playing with my son in the first day , my son brought another 2 friends, good story , FPS, RPG , adventure and survival in one game .
Hello, Jake!!
hi!
@@gameranxTV☠️💀🤢🤮
im a simple man...I hear live service, im out
Then you're missing out on a great experience, if you like video games.
It's more fun than starfield...
Why do I believe you 😂 oh yea bc starfield had me dosing off the hunt 1860 shits fire
BUT is it more fun than Concord 🤔🤔🤔
That is the real question.
@AdonaiNate PC only bud. When you ASSUME it makes an A** out of U and ME.
@AdonaiNate This platform is trash. I'm PC only. And 100% correct.
I noticed 2 random files that are set to run on startup on my PC, only happened when i installed this game
Analytics files. Records if you bought anything and then sends that back to the marketing team basically. People have already talked about it.
Don't worry it's just malware that saves your bank account credentials then upload it to their server ☠️
probably to check the integrity or something, don't think about it too much, they are not installing a miner on your pc
fr wth are those files
"As of right now it's only mouse and keyboard control, so some options and features are missing."
I would think it would be the other way around. What is missing with kb+m?
You are wrong. Start steam with administrator and then it will work with controller. Been using an Xbox controller since release
"before you download for free"
“Before you download” sounds better
@@hallooos7585 Before you Try
A skibidi toilet survival game with no toilets (at the moment), sounds fair!
Cringe kid
read some reviews and people are saying the game has some type of spyware? can anyone confirm or deny?
it does not, it's just fearmongering because they are a chinese company
I'm curious about this as well
No spyware the terms of service has alot of blunt wording towards what your signing off on that sounds sounds "scary" doesn't state they share personal data but store personal information such a Social media accounts your ID along with a few other things. In reality they aren't scraping any information but stating the info you give them will be stored. Aka if you don't want them to have your info don't link your socials or buy anything that would need your banking/personal information.
@@BigHeelJohnsonwhat about the couple start up files it’s meant to install, know anything about that?
You can't buy Once Human. It's a free game lol.
I LOVE the creature design and how they're all these towering eldritch abominations that slowly lumber towards you.
@_@ i was a human indeed.
💀 I'm not sure about my current existence.
(I play games, i exercise, i eat, i walk a little, i earn some bucks, sleep, then play again)
💀 What am i...
🗿 Damn.
8:18 that Deagle reload animation is eerily similar to Modern Warfare 2019's Deagle reload animation. It's not the exact same but very close. They might've taken it and changed it a bit lol
