    I know the wheel on the tractor in the beginning of the video looks like it's bent or laid over to the right, but it's not it's just the angle the camera is sitting. I have went and checked this myself and it does not look like that at all in real life. Also if you would like to see for yourself check out my video "Square bale it up 2017" there is a view from behind the tractor and you can watch both wheels turning and they are straight. There is also a lime spreading video that will confirm the same thing.

    If you want to tractor with nice ergonomics John Deere 6000 M series. The joy stick for the loader is at the end of the armrest. Nice compact, beefy tractors and the new self latch loaders are nice if you take them on and off a lot.

    Well they say nothing runs like a Deer when it's being chased by a Massey ; )
    I don't a know lot about the new stuff but my 1958 Massey 65 is still running strong : )

      I have 9 gears in my tractor and when baling hay I could use a 12 speed transmission. I have a John Deere 5320 they come with a 9 or 12 speed transmission. I really like this Massey Ferguson. I grew up driving Massey Ferguson tractors in the 70's , 80's Today I have the 5320 JD cab tractor and a 539 IMT it looks like the 35 Massey Ferguson. I found a 65 Massey Ferguson in a barn I wanting to buy. I thinking of buying another tractor and I am going to looking at 4708 or the 09 or 4710. I am thinking the 4708 would be big enough to pull my 4x5 458 mega wide plus John Deere baler. But if I get a good deal on the 4709 or 4710 then that would be big enough in case I need to borrow my son's 5x5 558 M W plus John Deere baler. I was wondering how the transmissions hold up in the new Massey Ferguson's.

    Good hands on review i do like and thanks for it since i been on the fence of Kubota , Fendt or Massey lol one thing i hate on agco tractors is the key start position and the light switches and my employees tend to complain about the Challenger tractor we have on the Farm with the right post key and lights there

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AJ Yeah, the key position is kind of strange. Right post light switches is pretty normal. Glad I could help with the review! More to come about this tractor!

    From alot of what you are saying, are the reasons we went with a MF 5711SL instead of the MF 4710. The 5711 has a sloped hood, visio roof, 10 more HP via 4 cylinders, 16x16 Powershift/Powershuttle transmission. When we flip the switch to put most of hydraulics on the loader, it really cycles quick for moving/loading/unloading round bales & big square bales. If was too much to jump up to the MF 6714S just to get the IVT transmission & 40 more HP. It did not make sense for us.

    Good initial thoughts on this machine. If it is anything like the bigger MF tractors it will be remarkably economical on fuel compared to others with approx the same engine power.
    It must be a pain and even potentially a safety issue when you lose sight of the loader as it nears top lift.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dan Whiteford. It definitely is a pain to not be able to see the loader. Never thought about it being a saftey issue but your right in certain situations it could be.

    Hey can you grab the 10 bales the opposite way so you can load only on the driver side of the truck so you have room to load instead of the tight creek bed side?

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can but the tie bales are more apt to fall off the grapple when they are on the far end of the grapple. In the field I always pick them up with the tie bales close to the tractor so I can drive at high speed without loosing bales. In the barn I pick them up both ways to stack them against the walls.

    Great video, me being a mechanic at a MF and NH can tell you that both brands are great tractors both have things to like and dislike so far the 4700 has been a good tractor no major issues it was desiged at the Beauvais facility and assembled in Agco's owned factory in China except for the 4707 assembled in Agco owned factory in India

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just test drove one of these today and it was incredibly jumpy to change gear both on the clutch and on the button on the gear lever. The dealer said they attempted to calibrate it but that was as good as it gets. Was this one jumpy ?

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it wasn't jumpy it was really smooth. Did you try adjusting the nob beside the shuttle leaver. It changes the harshness of the shuttle shift.

    • @maguire5455
      @maguire5455 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DLH Farms The shuttle was smooth as butter but the gear changes using the clutch or the button on the gear lever would break your neck

    That massies really different to the ones I've been in i live in aust and the ones I've ran were all 4 gears with 4 rangers I've never seen one without a felf leveling loader until your video and I've ran the bigger 130hp the 106 and the 95 all different moddles and have a heap of little but noticable things like the biger Massey has a really nice joystick with the gear changer on the lowder stick along with a clutch button but that ones really computerised the other ones I've been in were like the one you've been running but they all have the dyna 4

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had a 5445 for a few years and it was a cracking tractor ( 4 cylinder ) very nippy but was a bit low on power for towing but plenty for mowing and baling and that sort of thing. It only used 12 litres of derv an hour when round baling all day, hellish good on derv. I had a 2 speed, speed shift with 4 gears, 2 ranges, so 16 gears, the only downside was the manual shuttle, that's why I got rid of it as it was out of reach all the time when reaching with my left hand. Cracking tractor though and I would have another in a Minuite,I never touched it with a spanner, very reliable and good on steep ground ( needed more power though, for my liking 😎)

      The 5700 is one of the global series of tractors. It is basically a 4700 series with a 4.4 L 4 cylinder engine. There also is a 6700 series with one of the major difference is the horse power. Stock me as a marketing gimmick. The replacement for the * 5600 * series are the 5700SL series. Somewhat like John Deere "E" series are very different tractors than a "R" series. While some of the 4700 series are built in France not Germany eventually the tractors coming to The US are planned to be from China. The French built if they continue to build them in France will go to Europe. AGCO has built a huge tractor and engine plant in China to build the global series of tractors and yes the 4600 built in Japan get the Chinese built engines.
      Edit: Replaced the typing error when discussing the replacement for the 5600 series. Replaced 4600 with 5600.

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      AWD3264 the 5700SL is completely different than the 4600/4700 series tractors, at least the ones in Canada are. 5700SL is the same as the 5600 series. Heavier front ends, heavier rear ends, different cabs, sloped hoods, dyna-4 trans etc. Not even close to similar from what I've seen anyway.

      +CAT DIESEL POWER I don't know where this tractor was made, but it seemed to be a pretty good tractor.

      Think some are China and some are France

    My only concern with these is where they are made, China. They are a more economy tractor where the 5700 series is more fully featured.

      Bagwell Farms 4700 is definitely made in China I'm not sure where he 4600 was made, I would have guessed Brazil but maybe it's Japan. Unless the ROPS tractors are made in a different factory or something has changed since? www.masseyferguson.us/about-us/news-releases/massey-ferguson-introduces-4700-series-utility-tractors.html

      +K3vin Bracken. I wouldnt object to buying a Massey because I can buy them from the same dealer as I get my New Holland Tractors. Dealer support is what matters to me even though I fix my own equipment I still have to have the information I need to do so.

    massey stopped producing the manual (dynashift) tractors in 2005 which is the biggest f##k up they have ever done i think you can get something like it but not over 100 hp as far as i know

      yeah only john Deere and new Holland with the dual command are the only fully manual transmissions on the market that are good according to lack of research :) im sure there are a few European ones like lindner, valtra and deutz that might do a manual version but don't quote me on it
