I watch matches, players, check tournaments, stats, articles, anything I can get my hands on to try and piece together what was happening before I watched. I really hope he comes back as a good top 20 rifler and can find peace with being one of the best and not the best. The Goat of CSGO can never be taken from him now, so there’s no pressure there so he can really let loose. Hopefully the motivation to grind being a pure rifle will get him back into cracked form. Some of those clips of him rifling really do remind you of how his rifling peak has definitely dropped. He is a grinder though and is the type that if he is motivated will just sit on an aim map for hours and his mechanics will catch up pretty quick. It’s all gonna be a mentality thing

I think S1mple isn’t at the end of the road just yet, he is tapering off and that shows with the stats but I will say these past two years has probably been the hardest on him while playing the game so I can expect him to reach at least near peak performance and him Rifling in Falcons should be considered, especially now Mezisport have won like all their games on Vertigo and beat the 9ine trio against gla1ve on that map.

I may have a braindead take but I dont think s1imple has the it factor to adapt. CS2 came with a lot of different idiosyncrasies and tactics and many of the great players adapted even when the game was in a pretty bad state. Players who adapted for example were ropz and these new teams who dug into the new nade changes and peeking changes. Niko as well put his head down and stuck through the many changes and kept playing and adapting. I dont think s1mple wanted to put the effort into changing and instead made dumb excuses dissing the game because it wasn't what he was totally used to. Especially with the awp. As well, I believe there are many better players and teams now than in the csgo days where s1mple was popping off.
I remember Niko doing well secondary awping for a long time, I didn't expect him to put up s1mple numbers but I was really surprised he did so poorly on awp.
Talking about rifling it’s crazy ZywOo this year has more kills with the AK then the AWP. (He had more kills with M4 + AK last year) CS2 is really turning awpers more into hybrids. And if they can’t their numbers kinds go down.
I get that niko isnt great at awping in matches but I think its a little SLANDEROUS to call him bad with the gun. He has a few pretty insane highlights with it and even beat monesy twice in awp 1v1. Not sure why it doesn't click for him in matches.

People forget that every time s1mple goes on a break, when he comes back he's super rusty. His aim style isn't based off of crosshair placement, ofc he has good crosshair placement but not Yekindar level. Takes a heavy hit on your shot. I've been watching him play FPL and he's just doing OK. But a lot of people's play styles have changed with CS2. And I think s1mple is a slow learner but will have the craziest peak once he gains his feeling back. S1mple doesn't have aim like shroud. Shroud can go into any game without understanding the physics and click on head. S1mple has a aim style based off of playing the game a lot and understanding player movement. New game, new engine.
