    Great progress, glad to see you did raised beds. I find them so much easier to weed and harvest.

      Thanks Jennifer! Yep it has already proved to be much easier to manage, and although it's cost more than just working in rectangles in the ground it'll pay off in the long run!

    I've watched this video a couple of times because the difference is remarkable. You've done so much Tim, well done you. I'm picking up the keys to my allotment on Sunday (on the list for 9 months) and I'm bursting with excitement. Keeping doing what you're doing because it's inspired me to get going and given my loads of ideas x

      Thanks so much Alexandra, and sorry for the slow reply. This is one of the most lovely comments I've had, really touched. I hope you got your keys yesterday and have had a great first day up there on your new plot, the excitement doesn't fade either, I'm still so excited every time I walk the 20ish minutes down to mine!

    I've finally binge watched all of your videos...yes all haha! I am looking forward to watching more. I would love an allotment one day, I do grow stuff in my garden though. Keep doing what your doing...great job 👏 👍

      Fair play Shannon that is epic work! I really appreciate that and the words of encouragement. Have you put your name down for one yet? I'm glad you have garden space though to grow at home, that's the dream! Cheers and I'll catch you on the next one!

    Hi Tim
    Firstly there is nothing wrong with being obsessive about weeding, on an allotment especially, as turn your back and the weeds are there. if not from your plot there are plenty of neighbouring plots - so join the club
    You are right to hold back with planting especially seeds - what you needs to remember is most seeds need warmth to germinate. some people have dozens of seed tray growing away without taking into account that all those sprouted seeds will need to be potted on into bigger pots all too soon and many will still need some warmth/protection from frost until the last frost (here in the North west it could be the end of May/early June). So yes you need to sow slightly more than you need but also consider the next stage after potting up that some plants will also need potting on again into larger pots still before planting out. Your poly tunnel will be very useful for this part of the process. You could also use the mini green house in there to give double protection (with fleece covering over the top when very very cold) before moving it out side later for hardening off plants prior to planting out.
    keep safe you are doing a great job cant wait to see your progress AND KEEP WEEDING 👍👍👍👍

      @MyCarbonCoach  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is some absolute gold advice, thank you! Last year I barely did any sowing in propogators/ pots etc, going for mostly direct sow crops, but am really going to give it a go with germinating seeds in warmth and potting on, and as you say, that double pollytunnel/grow house should keep very warm!
      I've got a bit of a gap from uni work this week and next so I'm hoping to get Polly in-situ, fingers crossed! The south-west isn't too bad for late frosts, although we did have one spring on us unexpectedly in May which did set back my friends potatoes.
      Also I get what you mean about weeding, it's never ending but very worth it. This winter I didn't cover any of my unused beds, I don't know whether that's better or worse for the soil? Something else to read up on!

      @@MyCarbonCoach if you have heavy clay soil it helps to stop water logging, in the spring it helps warm the soil and of course it keeps the weeds down 👍

    Great upload Tim......it’s so good to look back on progress of plots. I just got a second next to my plot because I enjoyed the transformation so much.

    • @MyCarbonCoach
      @MyCarbonCoach  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks fantastic Terry! Are you going to be doing the same sort of thing with the new one, or trying something a bit different? I can't imagine having more space than this!

    • @Aut251
      @Aut251 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MyCarbonCoach definitely going for something different. The new plot will be all fruit, the plot already has mature apple tree, lots raspberry canes.
      There is are large shed which will be used as the main shed, the old shed converted into greenhouse for propagation & growing on. Lots of work 😆 but have helpful allotment neighbours.
