I liked your all the videos. You doing great job. I've a question. Why have u considered Z*I/2R value in U3 scale factor? It was already used in SPEC Z.
I think scale factor of U3 will be 2/3*U1 instead of 2/3*Z/2*I/R*U1.
Plz correct me if I'm wrong.
    Thank you

see in case of u1 case the spectrum is for Sa/g values from response spectrum graph IS1893 pg 13 which we use , whereas in case of vertical earthquake loads we dont use Sa/g values instead we used code value of 2.5, so in that case if we scale 2/3 of u1 as you said the u1 value is obtained by using the graph on page 13, which the code doesnt say......correct me if my understanding is wrong.

For equivalent static 2.5 from response spectrum graph IS 1893 pg 13, whereas Av is concern no where it is mentioned to multiply with scale factor except for U3 will be 2/3*U1. multiplication is done when mass participation factor is less than one mentioned in code. the multiplying factor is as per clause 7.7.3 of IS 1893-2016

spec x SF is more value how it's possible? ....before first run IG/22R apply and that is equal for both spec x and y.
please explain how u get x y different SF

      Obviously it might be different...
SPECX value will be same as EQX after scaling but not necessary that SPECX will be equal to SPECY

How do I justify this procedure for others?

Please show the base shear exel in spectrum z case

Because in base shear load case specz values p in my case not matched 2/3 of horizontal shear..

Code haven't specified any vertical spectra. You have used a horizontal spectra having 2.5 spectral value....so kindly share the reference for the same if any. As per CSI guideline initial scale for SPECX and SPECY should be IG/2R. After first analysis we have to check for min earthquake percentage as per Table 7-IS1893-2016 for static case and then spectral cases scale factor have to modify accordingly. As per my view no need to define separate vertical spectrum, because the maximum percentage of vertical force should be 2/3 of the maximum horizontal SPEC value. So first of all specify vertical scale as (Z/2xI/R*2.5) and modify it for maximum spec scale likewise.

The response spectra which is created in this video takins value as 2.5, need to be replaced by 2.5*(2/3)
