i think the difference between them is that Swamp Thing uses Natural "Green" as in pure plants and Trees and all that., where as Poison Ivy (also kinda going by the B&R movie) version of the Green was plants created by a cross breeding of both Plant and beast genetics.

Also, this game does incorporate a Gear System where you can change up her costume with different pieces of gear, so if you don't like the cabbage-like outfit, there's ways to change it up, with some little surprises if you get a really good piece. As you play the game, you unlock gear for different parts of her body, as well as palette swaps, so you can eventually have her look the way you want her to look. That includes the two plants on her back. Also, she has a special move in which she covers her body in a protective suit of plants/roots, and she takes less damage when it's on.. it looks very cool. The little guy she summons just sits there and fires projectiles at the opponent while the player is free to move. This opens up a lot of possibilities for the player to safely approach and start offense. Or she can hide behind it of course, and put on the armor, making it difficult to get in on her. Maybe you should check out the 'Watchtower streams' they do, they show off what the characters can do, and they also show some alternate costumes. Poison Ivy was shown yesterday, along with Catwoman and Deadshot.
"The things on her shoulders"...well, first those plants are connected to her back and it attacks with her, ie. the jab the she made, made her plants attack as well, she also used it to spew out deadly spores. The little "xenomorph-like creature" also does something. It doesn't just idly stand there, it actually spews out green projectiles (possibly toxic) allowing Ivy to go in and continue her combo.

My friend recently introduced me to your videos and I gotta say I don't know how I haven't heard of you before with how well and in depth you go. You take a lot of easy to Passover factors and make them seem so necessary because they are we just lose sight of them. As for fighting games though it's a bit weird especially when it comes to games featuring customization. Poison ivy is my main and he trailer doesn't tell you what everything does and Ivy's custom can be changed up to be more sexy but to be honest her clothing is more regal than sexy. Also her plants always strike when the hand on that side moves effectively extending her attack range because range is Ivy's best gameplay tool. Also have you read her comics? I haven't been able to but I heard they were amazing and sold just as well as Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn
Hey Grace, have you read the recent Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death miniseries? I think Amy Chu did a good job as writing her as with the feeling that she does not belong with humans/trying to find her place in the world, which would be an interesting dynamic in the Sirens movie.
I did read it! I particularly liked Clay Mann's artwork - but I felt ultimately Ivy took a backseat in that story and we still didn't really get to know her.
If you look closely at her gameplay the flytraps on her back are lashing at the foe while Ivy jabs. They also shot some kind of acid. I think they'll be her customizable accessory too.

I did really enjoy this deep thoughts about Poison Ivy, because it's true! They have to find a way to make Ivy be what she was in the origins, one of the sexiest characters of DC comics. And about the trailer, I think its good that they have showed more of her combo attacks where she is the one who punches and kicks the heck out of the adversary so like this they can show that Ivy is a femme fatale , because if the situaction demands it, she uses her sexiness to have what she wants and if she has to, she demostrates what she's capable of. And if they express that well in Injustice 2, the people who dont know much about her or the other playable characters, at least they will learn that Poison Ivy a.k.a Pamela Isley is lethal in combat face to face and much worse when she lets her "babies" do the work for her. (And yes... she's one of my favourite villains of the DC universe. Poison Ivy fan forever!!! ;))
with regards to the things on her shoulders, if you look closely she uses them when she does her standard attacks and even in some special moves. also, with the gear system her entire outfit will be changeable to whatever you want.
The little plant guy DID attack. He repeatedly spits acid or something at you. Ivy had him in the corner, so that stream of attacks kind of kept him trapped so she could whale on him. It looks like he's meant to be used as a zoning attack kind of deal.
The drones on her back and shoulders attack for her when shes hitting someone! It's hard to see but like 90% of the time the vines extend and curl around her arms to do the punching for her
Great video, it looks like the little pet plant was shooting acid while poison ivy was fighting, her plant shoulder pads friends can shoot acid at characters which helps if you are far away, and the poison kiss will damage your opponent over time so even if you aren't hitting them they will take damage for maybe about 10 seconds
Grace, I've heard you say in multiple videos that the sexy role in the DCEU is taken by Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn...I strongly disagree. I think that is a completely different type of sexy, more girl next door meets the nerdy girl who doesn't know she's as pretty as she is. Poison Ivy is straight sexy...and she knows it. It's a confident sexual awareness that is used purposely. Because of this I think there is plenty of room for another actress to share the screen as Poison Ivy alongside Harley. My 2 cents. Ivy has been my favourite female character ever, not just because of her sexiness (or whatever it's spelled, english is not my language), because of being smart, using seduction as a weapon not because she's a nympho, and overall cause she's not exactly a villain, she's like Freeze, just a human with good intentions but decided to do what it takes, she's awesome.
The character design is weak - no wow factor at all. As for Margot stealing the siren's "sexy" crown, you're overstating your case. There's more than enough sexy to go around, trust me. Margot is more psycho sexy anyway... Whoever plays Ivy can counter that easily with a touch of class. Harley has zero class and classiness is what brings sexy home in the long run.
