That fog in the opening is just like Canberra fog. Not sure if Canberra is on your to-visit list, but there's some great op shops here. I'm hoping to get chickens later this year once our backyard is finished with the landscaping. I don't know what kind yet, but I've just learned there's so many different kinds!

Loved the virtual trip seeing all the birds. Those birds with the long legs really did look like mini raptors (dinos not hawks). There was an adorable floral mini tea pot in the thrift portion of the video. I thrifted a similar one, took it home, dropped it, it broke into teeny tiny pieces and then I remembered why all my drinking glasses are plastic. Considering privacy concerns first, I would love more thrifting and bird trips. BTW Alex is looking quite happy and content. Hope things are calmer at the Tasmanian homestead.
Aww!😢 There was a beautiful, gorgeous rooster roaming around my moms’s house last time I visited her. My mom passed recently and unexpectedly. Seeing this made me realize… I’ll never see them again… 🥺

I have four little pullets growing out in my living room right now. I can't wait to add them to my flock. We moved from Los Angeles, CA to very rural Alabama a couple of years ago. The politics of the area (whole state) are absolute garbage, but I'm just so much happier than I ever was. I have my lovely house in the country, my garden, and my chickens. I love it.
My partner won’t let me have chickens at home because the neighbours chickens have brought rats to our yard. And now I’m extremely clucky for chickens and jealous! But you have also made me remember how much I love the rare breed poultry shows in Tasmania and I need to start going again lol.
Alex I too am a chicken tender, got my first flock last year in march and unfortunately lost all of them but two in dec after a neighborhood dog killed them. I am currently rebuilding and I just bought a 10ftx13ft shed that I call the Poultry Palace lol (have a guinea hen too) I am renovating into a gorgeous coop!! anywho, can you please do I an avian video where we can meet all your birdies. especially the chookies!!!!! I wanna see your chickens! give me all the chickens!!

love your chicken vids!! you have multiple roosters? & they're all chill with each other? i guess if there's enough hens & space to go around it's fine. i got bantam chicks (including a silky) & they all turn out to be roosters & did not get along so i had to rehome them :'( also so glad you're loving tasmania, you seem so happy now!

Most breeders keep them in separate pens by breed. You can also separate out individual chooks for when you want a specific pair. If left mixed together a rooster will go for any hen in the flock no matter the breed. If you see barnyard mix when describing birds thats exactly what has happened!
