The frames are dry when rendering down old frames so there is no honey involved. Frames that contain beeswax foundation normally give me about 100 grams of wax. Plastic foundation frames give me about half that amount.
Good point. The wax that is recovered is darker than cappings wax but after it is heated and filtered a couple of times, it is ready for use in the production of new foundation.
Would have any brood comb wax.
