In this clip a wooden lid is turned for a honey jar. A recess is machined into the base and a metal lid is glued in place.

My daughter and grandson cleaned up a patch with the GPX 6000 and found quite a few pieces of gold. It was Archer’s first real attempt at prospecting and he had a ball detecting, finding signals and then recovering the gold. Both his mother and I were so proud of his efforts. This clip shows him using the pick and scoop to find a couple of those small pieces.

My eldest daughter and grandson came with me to a remote gully to detect small pieces of gold that had deposited after recent floods. After carefully detecting the area and removing as much gold as the detector could hear, we decided to pan some of the gravel to see if there was any finer gold remaining. This clip is the result of the first pan.

After working an area quite well with a couple of 6000’s, we decided to come back and cover the same country with the 7000’s to see if we could find some deeper targets that the smaller machine could not see. A mate and I went back to an area that we worked with our GPZ 7000’s a couple of years ago. We decided to go back using the 6000 with a small coil attached to get into those tight areas that the larger coil could not reach.

A mate and I decided to compare signal responses on live targets when we were out detecting in an old gold mine area. I had the standard Minelab 11” mono connected to the gpx 6000 and my mate was using the Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5. I hope that enjoy the results of our comparison.

Trying to get around the bush at the moment is quite difficult. Vines, shrubs, saplings and leaf litter make it difficult to get a coil on the ground. In this clip, I’m using the Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5 to cover some old ground in an attempt to pick up small pieces of gold that other detectors have left behind.

This recipe can be scaled up or modified to suit your needs.
