What sound settings you used for the Edifiers? (there are few presets).
M200 sounds fuller, but it also emphasizes nasal vocals (as noticed from the Castarays track). S3000Pro sounds thin (because of the V-shaped frequency response) and overly bright.
*DISCLAMER* S3000PRo was recorded in "Classic" DSP mode, not "Monitor" mode as I claimed before. Classic mode boosts the treble significantly. I am sorry for the confusion.

How much do you have to spend on amp/passive speakers/cables to sound this level?

I did comparison of my new Swan M200 III (cable) with the legendary Epos ES14 and smile, smile (driven by old Exposure too), Sony old Hi end player.
Is there a chance to get the midtones on a better level so it sounds more like the original on the Edifiers? The highs and the lows are a bit too forward for me. It's nice to have it that way, don't get me wrong. But most of the party always go on the mids.
on SACD Swan M200 mk III almost equal the famous Epos ES 11 fired by exposure amp!

Finally Swan is here after so many has asked.Edifier put to much ingridients to the sound, while Swan sounds more neutral, no wonder it claims 'as a reference monitor'.In my ear it is one of a pleasant speaker to listen.Not a flat sound &Has some warmth.
just close your eyes when listening, and open eyes when you find the music pleasing, for me most of the time it's Swans. The Swans M200 MK3+ has warmer and richer mid great for vocal /songs, S3000 Pro has better highs and deeper base, but sounds dry & thin, probably great for listening to instrumental musics.
Swan for adults, S3000 for kids
S3000 VS SWAN M300 MKII??
It sounds like Swans have a more powerful mid-bass, maybe around 80 - 150 Hz? 80 - 300 Hz? Something like that. That makes bass hit HARDER even though it won't go as low as the S3000Pro. Does anyone know if the Swan M300 also has this elevated mid-bass like the M200MKiii? The S3000Pro sounds like it has the mid-bass recessed and then the sub-bass (70 Hz and under) hard again but that is the opposite of what I want. I don't care about sub-bass much but very hard (but fast & controlled) mid-bass & upper-bass is what I love...
You can use an equalizer ! On my computer i use foobar2000 and with me cell phone i use Onkyo HF player. Both have equalizer.

Classical preset on the edifiers ruins this comparison imho.
Again, I have to go for the Edifiers. While I find their treble to be just a tad too forward, the Swan's boxy vocals are even worse to my ears.
Swans are generally known for incredible vocals / mids. There's nothing boxy about the vocals. It's just the video / mic. In real life, vocals / mids are an area (of many) where the Swans absolutely shine. I have the Swan / HiVi M300 and the vocals are gorgeous.
@@Spinelli__ I ended up buying the S3000PROs last August. They are absolutely the best powered speakers in their price range IMHO. They continue to impress me even now. Prodigious amounts of clean non-boomy bass, natural vocals and a top end that among some of the best I've heard at any price. Edifier really hit a home-run with these.

@@GOLFADDICT65 I'm running them. I do hook them up to my TV via toslink when I watch movies and such. 95% of the time they are being used for music. They make for a fine soundbar alternative
I think s3000pro has a trouble eq setting in this test. Flat and bright, no stage 🤦♂️ or just my ears going wrong. $500 vs $1000
I wonder if something is wrong with the S3000pro that you have. Maybe it was overburned? I only heard treble and treble. It is obviously too bright, too much in treble quantity that cause the sound badly distorted. Other review showed that the S3000 was not this bad. Can you have some words on thiss situation?
Yeah I agree. But all the samples Digital Stereophony did of S3000 I've heard sound lacking midrange bass. Maybe they have the equaliser set to a low bass setting. Because S3000 is supposed to have amazing bass and not require a subwoofer.
@@JoshyLats He used stock settings. You can always crank the bass up as well as treble.

Сван звучат более натурально, собрано. Они более голографичны в звучании. Бас несколько проигрывает в глубине эйдиферам, но незначительно. Твитер эйдиферов делает звук запредельно детальным. Как он прекрасно передает звучание струнных и тарелок! Но он же и ахилесова пята эйдиферов. Звучание с вуфером получается худосочным, несбалансированным, как если бы с сабвуфером на 15 дюймов играл дюймовый купольный твитер. И направленность небольшая, из-за чего сцена получается узкой. Я отдаю предпочтение сван.
M300 vs S2000pro .. 🤔 to same sound 🤔🤔🤔
Swans sound more natural and closer to source. Edi's sound overly bright and missing midrange, they seem tonally similar to the AirPulse A100's. Hopefully there can be a comparison for S3000Pro VS AirPulse A100 as they seem to share a lot of characteristics. Swans win it for me on this one though.
Китайцы продолжают штурмовать новые высоты высококачественного звука и надо признать, что это им удается. Правда вместе с ростом качества растет и цена, но это вполне закономерно. Swans M200 MKIII+ имеют более сбалансированный звук и звучат ближе к оригиналу, чем их конкурент. Каналу как всегда лайк и спасибо.
За такую цену можно уже начальные adam и genelec взять))

I prefer the Swans. Seems like a broader sound with a misty warmth. Edifier seems more direct and transparent. Both good.
Which ones do you prefer DS ?
For me Swans present better value for money. Edifier after some adjustments to the sound do sound better than Swans, but out of the box it lacks balance IMO

@UselessHanzo basically trimming down the treble a buch plus some slight trimming to the bass would bring the sound balance much closer to neutral
Thanks! I did turn down the bass by 3 db and the treble by 2 or 3. also i put some accoustic foam panels in my livingroom to tame the treble a bit.

@@chadwallace3598 honestly I prefere S3000Pro over A300. S3000Pro is more pleasing to the ear with punchier bass and less piercing upper mids. S3000Pro is also vetter value for money IMO

Listen to "Deep" and "Retro Wave" ...The Swan M200 MKiii hits the bass HARDER than the Edifier S3000Pro. S3000Pro maybe can hit lower frequencies due to it's larger woofer but it hits SOFTER. I prefer a speaker that hits bass harder even if it can't quite reach as low. I am shocked that the S3000Pro's bass is so soft, who cares if it can reach a few Hz lower if it hits softer & slower.
The swan has boosted upper bass where the S3000 is more neutral and providing way more detail in the low end.
Edifier is in a classical preset in this video.

@@AbsoluteFidelity No, I don't like cheap upper-bass boost. I like strong, punchy, quick mid-bass but I don't like if it's cheaply done via tons of boosting. It's all about the attributes of speakers. People majorly simplify how a speaker performs/sounds by using an EQ graph when there's way more to it like attack, decay, soundstage, depth, separation, imaging, transparency, etc.

S3000 sounds a little bit thin while MKIII sound almost identical to the source and more deep. I'll go with MKIII for sure.
Swans is the clear winner. So much better tonality
Verifier S3000PRO sounds overall better where as the Swans sound more flat!
