Great video as always. Glad you mentioned the difference between the ceramic and PPF. Really surprising to me how many people believe they both due the same thing.
Here is some info on the tack solution: You use the slip solution when placing the entire piece of PPF on the car panel. Position the piece, and squeegee the soapy water out. When you need to hold the piece in place (especially the edge), you spray the tack solution under the film to wash out the soapy water. You will still be able to move it a bit, but when you squeegee the tack solution out, it will tack down quicker to prevent movement. You will need to check the Ebay seller's listing for specific car application, or contact the seller.
Thank you for the informative video. I'm considering either the 3M Pro Series 200 PPF (paint protection film) or the XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF. Could you please share your recommendation between the two? Which one offers better scratch protection for the car? Which one tends to have a longer lifespan? Thank you.
This was very informative. However, you only showed how the alcohol solution worked once. After you finished fitting the film, heat gun, etc...is that when you applied the alcohol solution?
The tack solution with the alcohol can be used anytime during the installation when you need to flush out the slip solution and get the edge to tack on faster. If you only use the slip solution, you will find the film might be too slippery and hard to tack down.
I still don't quite understand. Sounds like you don't need to cover the back with tack solution as if gluing it down...you just use strategically where you need it. The film stick to the car otherwise with out it if you squeegee out the slip solution?
If there is dirt accumulating 'under' the edge, then you can use a sharp knife and cut off the extra bit that did not adhere to the car. But as far as dirt collecting at the edge of the film, that's one downside of a computer cut film. You can still buff out the dirt with some polisher or wax but the edge can collect some dirt.
You use the slip solution when placing the entire piece of PPF on the vehicle. Once you have it contoured and you need to hold the piece in place, you use the tack solution. It's still going to move around but when you squeegee it to get all the water out, it will tack down better.

Thanks for taking the time to educate. I feel confidant now to apply some 3m on my truck. Well done.
Great video. Super helpful content thank you!
Good informative video. But you didn’t really say when the tac solution gets applied. Does the vendor make a kit for a 2023 BMW X3M40i?

I have a 2021 Nissan Rogue does does the adhesive match the 2023 . Thanks
The PPF film kit shown in the video is for 2021 and newer Nissan Rogue (as long as your Rogue is the same look as mine).
I would like to know if you did a video of you installing fog lights on your 2023 Nissan Rogue?

Is there a way to prevent dirt from accumulating along the films exposed edges???

How much cost for Nexon facelift?
Adhesive lines are definitely present due to peeling back film but with a white vehicle, you won’t see it.
You keep saying you are using slip solution in the front bumper, but you are spraying the with bottle with the Alcohol tack solution aren't you?

@@dial2fast That is what I though.. was just a bit confusing watching the vid for me.
For $300 diy I will take it. Shop wants 1000$ for just the bumper
It's 3-6 hours of work...how much do you suppose their time is worth?
