Bro i swear to god he did bro. He fought like hell and got killed in a situation that was absolutely unwindable, he was such a badass and a great character. instead of giving him a crucial part in the story he was used as a test rat to help Ethan avoid death. He literally watched his whole crew die and beat the whole family and there traps, dude was an absolute unit. They should’ve had him in at a scene were Ethan gets grabbed and then you just see Clancy’s hand come into frame with a gun and save Ethan. He should have been a savable character like Mia. Instead of the lost footage you should have had the option to play his tapes in the story and if you survive them all he lives and he is in the helicopter with Mia and Ethan at the end looking through his footage over what he just witnessed. Ethan is a fucking monster but jesus christ Clancy went through hell
Makes me wonder what might have happened if he either just sat there instead of placing the candle in the cake, or if he ate the soup/cooking. Sure he might have died, but at least he would have chosen how.
I feel the same way for Clancy as I did for Miles in Outlast. They both went through hell but still didn't make it out alive, making all your efforts to survive feel like a waste

Clancy is the true hero of the game. If he never died then Ethan would never get the password to get the valve in the birthday room without dying. Clancy would probably be dead or turned because of Eveline and Ethan would never cure Mia and defeat Eveline.

The puzzle was designed in such a way so that there would be no winners(Lucas gets really angry when Ethan solves the puzzle without getting killed and throws dynamite). Clancy gets burnt alive and thus, a great hero gave his life to help others allowing Ethan to solve it without getting killed. Edit: I missed a part. Before Clancy gets in the bedroom, he finds himself in the basement when Jack tries to kill him aka Nightmare mode. Eventually, Jack manages to get Clancy after an intense fight. Clancy is about to be killed by Jack when Marguerite comes in and begs Jack not to kill her 'guest'. He agrees and Marguerite takes Clancy to the bedroom. This is the most logical sequence of events I could think of.

The thing is Clancy could have easily solved the puzzle and I'm surprised that I didn't think of this earlier. Find the candle, light it, cover it with your left hand until you pass the water and light the candle.😂😂😂

Clancy deserved to live knowing how much worse he went through all of this. Plus he was a beast to survive so long and with close encounters like scenarios where he is stuck and can't get out while Ethan has been always a runner and shooting all the bakers.

I believe the actual order of events is: Derelict House Bedroom Nightmare/Night Terror 21 Happy Birthday Clancy gets knocked out after descending the ladder and finding Andre's corpse. He wakes up in the Bedroom scenario. Escaping from Margeurite, he flees to the cellar, where he is forced to fight waves of Molded by Jack, and even Jack himself. Putting Jack out of commission temporarily, Clancy narrowly escapes the callar only to be captured by Lucas and forced to play in a sick, twisted version of 21 against Hoffman, another prisoner, all for Lucas' amusement. Despite all the odds being stacked against him, Clancy outsmarts Lucas. But the sadist won't honor the promise to let him go if he wins, instead locking Clancy up and spending weeks building an escape room just for him, the Happy Birthday room, which is designed to be impossible to defeat without dying. Clancy's refusal to surrender and heroic death trying to survive against all odds are what will enable Ethan to escape the same deathtrap.
Except that timestamps make it so that the events of the main game tapes happened earlier than the dlc tapes, and the fact that Clancy knows about Lucas in the bedroom falsifies this order of events, and the fact that Clancy was probably infected means he was probably capable of surviving the fire, especially since he doesn't seem as burnt as the corpse you find in the main game

the sewer gators deserved so much better, hoping they release some sort of dlc or more info about them. definitely my favorite characters in the game even though they really aren't around that often.
I think that the nightmare , the blackjack and the bedroom mode are before Clancy got burned by Lukas. After the blackjack mode Lukas said that he wasn't done and wants to play another game. Maybe that other game was the happy birthday trap. That's my solution, correct me if I am wrong :)

I know its been 8 years since this games release but i was replaying this masterpiece in 2024, and Clancy grows on me. whats missing here is the events in 21 where in my opinion we get to see how clever and resourceful Clancy is
Here's the story of RE7 Biohazard. Daughters - we see what really happened to the bakers and how they got possessed in the first place, however Marguerite was already infected with E-001 but once Eveline possessed the baker family (except for Zoe, she was infected but not possessed, and Lucas gets possessed later after being taken hostage by Jack & Marguerite Baker), Zoe managed to make it back to her trailer, and then saw the note Mia left, saying not to let Eveline in their home as she is dangerous, and Zoe survived but not intact as she is still infected with E-001. Clancy & Andre & Peter's story - the 3 of them investigate the haunted guest house in Dulvey, Louisiana, only to be captured by Jack Baker, Peter died by Jack Baker if I'm correct, then Andre & Clancy were captured as well, Andre gets decapitated and killed later by Mia. Nightmare/Night Terror - Clancy managed to survive against Jack Baker and the molded creatures, only to be captured and put in a bedroom by Marguerite Baker. Bedroom - Clancy survived against Marguerite Baker and escaped the bedroom through a secret passageway only to be knocked out and captured by Lucas Baker. 21 - Lucas Baker forces Hoffman (another captured victim) and Clancy to play 21 in a life or death situation, Hoffman is killed and loses the game but Clancy still survived only to be captured once again and put in another room by Lucas Baker. Happy Birthday (tape found in Main Story) - Lucas Baker traps Clancy in a room that Lucas Baker had prepared for him, Clancy managed to succeed in lighting the candle on the cake, only to be burnt alive by Lucas Baker. Main story of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard comes next. I'm not gonna explain the main story of RE7 Biohazard as mostly everyone knows the story already.

I think that the nightmare , the blackjack and the bedroom mode are before Clancy got burned by Lukas. After the blackjack mode Lukas said that he wasn't done and wants to play another game. Maybe that other game was the happy birthday trap. That's my solution, correct me if I am wrong :)

Here's the story of RE7 Biohazard.
Daughters - we see what really happened to the bakers and how they got possessed in the first place, however Marguerite was already infected with E-001 but once Eveline possessed the baker family (except for Zoe, she was infected but not possessed, and Lucas gets possessed later after being taken hostage by Jack & Marguerite Baker), Zoe managed to make it back to her trailer, and then saw the note Mia left, saying not to let Eveline in their home as she is dangerous, and Zoe survived but not intact as she is still infected with E-001.
Clancy & Andre & Peter's story - the 3 of them investigate the haunted guest house in Dulvey, Louisiana, only to be captured by Jack Baker, Peter died by Jack Baker if I'm correct, then Andre & Clancy were captured as well, Andre gets decapitated and killed later by Mia.
Nightmare/Night Terror - Clancy managed to survive against Jack Baker and the molded creatures, only to be captured and put in a bedroom by Marguerite Baker.
Bedroom - Clancy survived against Marguerite Baker and escaped the bedroom through a secret passageway only to be knocked out and captured by Lucas Baker.
21 - Lucas Baker forces Hoffman (another captured victim) and Clancy to play 21 in a life or death situation, Hoffman is killed and loses the game but Clancy still survived only to be captured once again and put in another room by Lucas Baker.
Happy Birthday (tape found in Main Story) - Lucas Baker traps Clancy in a room that Lucas Baker had prepared for him, Clancy managed to succeed in lighting the candle on the cake, only to be burnt alive by Lucas Baker.
Main story of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard comes next.

i watched a video on it before, doing this with clancy will result him being stuck and not movable after putting the candle in the cake, then he will glitch out olf the room so basically you cant save him
you cant save him,because when you go to enter the password,it says that It would be difficult to solve it without the password so you cant do that if u don't get the crank from the barrel so that you put it on the zombie clown robot thingy
