Give me a turbo, six speed, WRX Brat with an extended cab (not crew cab) and I'm all over it. A CVT?...not only no, but Hell No!!!...
CVT is the dealbreaker for me - no way. I bought Mazda CX-5 over Forrester for very same reason. Also, no hybrids for me. I want traditional in a very untraditional world, thank you.
I would only consider it with a manual gear box.
Skip the damn CVT and put a real transmission in the damn thing

My concern is the CVT transmission, from what I understand it cost as much to repair them as to replace. Can't say I have heard much about Subaru CVT transmissions, but they seem to be a problem with other brands.

I was excited until they mentioned the CVT, and I won't buy one because of it having a CVT transmission!

I currently own a 2022 Outback, and I hope Subaru does not copy the exact interior for the new Brat. They need to add a bit of "macho" to the truck.
If you’re going to redo the Brat , you got to put the seats in the back. If not don’t call it a Brat. I had 2 Subaru Brats growing up. The bed seats is what made it different.

Only change I would make is to put the gas fill door on the driver's side.
Reliable fuel-efficient and Cheap. People forgot what a real pickup truck Is used for?. Too throw stuff in the back of.

Very confusing - the narrator mentions a two engine strategy of two gas engines (a turbo and a non-turbo with no hybrid) uh...... isn't that what Hyundai did? Hyundai though only sells the Santa Cruz in North America - outside of that market there are a lot of choices for small pickups - the Maverick is by comparison pretty large.
Get rid of the cvt. Produce a WRX trim level or an eco diesel version and im all over it

They completely wasted all the design and build time to offer a truck that I will IMMEDIATELY reject.
CVT - just lost me.
I put 275,000 miles on my 2011 Legacy w/CVT in 7 1/2 years and had zero transmission problems. Also, I regularly used the paddles to decelerate from freeway speeds with no issues. I’m waiting for the new Brat to come out. Just wish they still made the H-6 engine.
I want a 2.5L, six speed, AWD.
The only way to beat out a Maverick is to get better. Fuel mileage or be cheaper period Or in Toyota? Be more reliable and second lowest Price

toyota ceo sato said in june a $15,000 small pickup truck was coming. if it's the stout, bravo. gm and ford have announced they too are coming out with $15,000 dollar small pickup trucks. SUbaru can eat their lunch by cutting their price to 15,000 or better yet less

the words "longevity" and "durability" are not what i would use to describe Subaru's flat four engines.
Why do you say that? I have no issues with my CrossTrek at 180,000km. I have relatives with ancient Foresters are sitting near 400,000km.
Doing proper maintenance makes all the difference. And, that's on you.
I sold my last two Subarus , and they both had nearly 240.000 miles .
