We drove across this bridge in October 2018 in our camper van. It was on our bucket list as part of the Great River Road trip. Did not see it open, the bridge tender said there was not much river traffic that day. Thanks for the video.
NOT a Drawbridge ... World’s Longest Swing Span. The building in background is old Schaffer Pen HQ and plant. Walter A. Sheaffer founded company in Fort Madison, Iowa (1913). Closed in 2008 by then French owners. A.T. Cross Pen bought Sheaffer in 2012 ... the historic Sheaffer Pen Museum closed 2018.
