Thank you. I am also modeling a air compressor and I am finding a way how to connect compressor to air tank. Even you also help me how exactly compressor looks. Thanks again
Greetings from South Africa . I really enjoyed this video except at 3:10 ,where you said divers use diaphragm compressors to fill their cylinders. No no no no no no no! We use multi-stage high pressure compressors - 200 - 300 bar / 3000 - 4500 psi in our air tanks. That's a bit much to demand of a diaphragm pump. they are happier at 125 psi - 9 bar. Om shanti.😇🙏
Dude, the video is demonstrating pump technology that was literally patented in the 1870's. Rotary vane pumps are probably the most widely used pumps on earth, and you watched this video and thought “huh, this guy has some neat ideas”?
It is better to insert cooler stage between compressor unit and pressure tank. Cooler stage allows moisture condensation in compressed air so we'll get dry air. Dry air will provide better result in spray-paint and cleaning. Cheers from Indonesia.
compressors in air conditioner aren't different from any other kind of compressor.. but they compress different fluids instead of simple air. The whole functioning of a fridge or an air conditioner is more complex and interesting :)
one question i have, does the air compressor works on the same principle of a bicycle air pump, where there inlet and outlet valves, as in when when u push the inlet valve opens and when u pull the the outlet calve closes...thx
2:00 - how is the air cooled between stage 1 and stage 2? Looks like the air passes through metal tubing, wouldn't it be better to pass it through a radiator?
My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong? How to fix?
sounds like you need a new pressure switch which determines when the compressor how much air it makes and then turns off . they work similar to a set of points in your car and are wear out often with bad power. also do not plug your compressor into an extension lead. this can cause the electric motor to "trip"
yeah, but i can assure you that if went and opened one you wouldn't find valves like that in the most common types of pumps. they are you usually made with "spring metal sheets" that act as a valve when compressed.
So it’s literally an engine without combustion
I saw a guy building a compressor out of engine
@@prodigalson2670 I saw a guy build a 4 stroke engine out of a freezer refrigerant compressor cylinder and piston
Yes. After all, those who know, will always tell you that an internal combustion engine is just an air pump.
Reverse engine, actually. Instead of harvesting energy from chemical bonds, you harvest electrical energy and trasmute it into pressurized energy.
Yes pal
Someone translated the subtitles for this video in Dutch. Many thanks to him !
thank you

I finally understood the Applications of the Carnot engine. Thank you!
Next video is coming soon!
Good
An excellent introductory to compressors.

And I always thought there was a ‘Roots’ type compressor such like they use on car engines. Nice video 👍🏼
It’s called a screw compressor
I liked your rotator air compression idea.

Great great video mate !!!! Very informative and very professional

That is right for big compressors
Excelente video !!!! Parabéns e obrigado!!
clearly explaining video , thank you
Thanks for making this video..very useful

Well done it's a very interesting video. Greetings from Colombia
Concise & informative.
Clearly explained
Nice one
I like to see the animation and cross-sectional view, that's really helpful, thank you =P
such comment we like :-)
Thank you very much for teaching i like this video
This is really informative. Thanks.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING
love that crankshaft

I just concern on the crankshaft counterweight. I don't see it in video. Nice video though
Please make a video on - How the compressor of an Air Conditioner works
that is a good idea, we will write it in our To-do-list. Next video will be soon single phase induction motor.

Those crankshaft counterweights are gonna cause a fuckton of vibration. XD

HOW WORKS AN AIR COMPRESSOR
We need a genuine Manufacturer of Piston type reciprocating air compressor with parts, please.
Nice info
It's an educational Video , the music was literally undue .
It' s an inverted internal combustion engine
so that's why even though it's electric, an air compressor is normally a loud mofo.
Thanks! Great!

You can make a diy compressor by using a one way valve
Amazing

What type of compressor might a roller coaster’s pneumatic brakes use?
I would like you to know that the counterbalance weight position in this animation is not correct.
What's wrong about it?
No, it's not... it would vibrate itself to death in a matter of seconds.
The video would have been more complete if the working of the pressures switch, unload valve and check valve were also explained
@@MarkFodor-ue7nw you are right

What software was this animation made with?
I used Blender
I wonder moving direction of Weight balance should be opposite direction of piston.
