    About two years ago I bought a toy hauler. My girl and I have ridden two up a lot. Tour of Honor, Biketoberfest, Bike week etc etc. After a 95° degree ride home she told me hey I love riding the fun, pretty places but no more boring interstate mile crushing. We love our toy hauler.

    I like the camper. I would add extra legs for stability on the back porch. Even though the cables are strong added stability will help.

    Hey Tall, I've been RV'ing for over two years now. 💯 agree with you that more motorcyclists should get Toyhaulers. Just such an easy way to travel, bring your bike and have some of the comforts of home. The Toyhauler has brought me to Sturgis 3 times, along with the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park; Beartooth Pass and Chief Joseph Scenic Byway in Wyoming, along with the Ozarks and your neck of the woods in Tennessee and North Carolina.

    Nice video and good advice. I have a 2019 Grey Wolf 26RR. We have hauled a Victory Vision in it and my current Burgman 650. Ohio to Georgia and Ohio to Colorado plus lots of local pulls in Ohio. It weighs about 7200 lbs loaded and our 2019 F150 Ecoboost pulls it great. I really like that 12V fridge and our propane is ok but I will replace mine with a 12v if ours quits. I put an extra battery on the front hitch to give us more battery capacity. With that fridge you should consider doing that too. Love that porch two but ours has a 1500 lb capacity. Hope to see you camping someday. Oh and we got a Blue Ox WD hitch. Works pretty good once you figure out the settings for your truck.

    The importance of a morning devotional cannot be overstated Tall. We use our large Class C and pull one of two enclosed trailers depending on one bike, or two. Although retired from active employment we are involved in motorcycle ministry and our set-up has served us well traveling across the country. With two large active labradors the motorhome floor plan was chosen with ever present dogs in mind. My dream set-up is a large 5er TH with an HDT Hauler. When the new house and shop are completed I will have the indoor storage available. Finances will dictate what direction we take. I am fascinated with the small Toy Hauler especially for relatively short trips. The convenience of having the tow vehicle to drive would be nice. Right now, my Ultra Limited is the grocery getter while traveling. Eating clean requires grocery trips every couple of days for fresh fruit and vegetables given the limited storage in the motorhome. Packing a tour-pac and saddlebags becomes an art form. As a previous travel trailer owner I know there are trade offs no matter which way you travel. There is no right choice necessarily especially as the mission profile changes. It is always nice to have different options as long as the expense can be justified.
    I am glad your are enjoying His creation which was put there for our enjoyment. God Bless

    yrs ago I was looking into a Thor class C toy hauler. I went to look at one and being 6 foot 3 my head was in the roof for the most part. I really liked it. I was really interested in buying one. My biggest fear was that my Harley would be an anchor. That it would just sit in the back not being used as much as I thought it would be. That's when I got into tent camping. For the last two yrs. I have been enjoying that. So maybe one day I will get the Thor toy hauler. But till then I am content with my tent. Great video as usual Tall.

    • @TravelingTall
      @TravelingTall  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still like tent camping too. We tent camp at the Outer Banks it was great! I would suggest a Class C with a trailer with the Harleys in tow. Class C Toy Hauler ramps are to steep. Thanks for watching Scott.

    • @HangTimeSolutions
      @HangTimeSolutions ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TravelingTall curious why you say the ramps are too steep. Yes first couple times loading it seems strange but good clutch control and using a trail braking technique on front brake makes it easier to stop once inside. What's steep is riding a bike up a flatbed tow truck ramp. Same technique just keep both feet on the ground going up the ramp. Definitely make you nervous even when you get used to it. Same thing unloading. But you can do it.

    Never had a trailer where I didn’t have to do things to make it “mine”…the best thing I did was replace that little plasticy cassette toilet or whatever it was with a real, elongated porcelain bowl toilet that had a side sprayer to rinse it.. for real.. then I went with a couple six volt batteries for more amp hours when dry camping.

    Congrats. on the new camper. I really do enjoy your video`s, so just some FYI for you so sorry if this runs a little long. Weight distribution hitches come in weight ranges. So your could have the wrong weight rating for your trailer. You could have one that is rated for a 12k-15k trailer. In which could damage a lighter trailer or break frame welds, or rated for less weighted trailer then what you are towing. Or if your swaying like you said you just mite not have enough tension on the bars could be one of these reason. Please don`t think I`m being a hater on you or your new camper. Just some FYI from someone who has towed thousand of miles on all different kinds of road in summer heat and sub zero temps in Canada. Don`t let them fool you, there`s nothing off road at all about that suspension at all!. Putting all terrain tires on it as cool as they look. And saying it`s an off road camper is just marketing. Because of the hot over land camping market these days, with trailers the new black series 19 and the other ones like it. Plus a off road tread just like on your truck has more drag then hi-way tread and will cost you mpg. LOL That is standard leaf spring shackle suspension. Those shackles that the leaf spring bolt to will bend and twist and break like a pretzel if you try to off road that on anything more the maybe a smooth fire road. Because they bend and break on highways. Like expansion joints especially in the north KILLS THEM ALL THE TIME. The fact is when a trailer is going down the road it`s a non stop earthquake, and they are a very weak BREAKING point. Check a service center or suspension shop. They bend all the time which is why in the last years they have that rubber cushion center piece on the springs. I couldn`t see which brand you have because there are a few different ones out there . To the point that people weld a brace to them so they don`t bend twist or break. Look at how it`s welded to the frame also check it for cracks new or not. It`s only like a 3-4" bead of weld to the frame on the inside and one on the outside. ( LOOK AT IT JUST HOW STRONG DO YOU THINK THAT IS ) People weld triangles or straps to them to keep them from bending and twisting backwards. Also this is just a personal thing for me have so many miles under my butt. But you should travel with 2 spare tires. One flat usually becomes 2 flats by the time you get stopped. As the tire blows apart it`s pieces usually takes out the other tire next to it. Next time you see a trailer on the side of the road with a flat, say a Taman wheel trailer like a boat or a triaxle trailer with flats. 90% of the time they have 2 flats don`t they. Be safe brother and keep up the great video`s.

    I'd like to install those same tires on my Wolf Pup 18RJB toy hauler. I regret purchasing a single axle camper, but my thought process at the time( three 3years ago) was to switch over to a new gasoline truck and sell my Ram diesel - which is why I downsized to a smaller rv unit. I'm concerned with the safety of my single axle design. Your tires appear to have a higher load capacity than what's on my unit. I sometimes carry my Indian Challenger or one of my Dual Purpose bikes. I'm in the Pooler Georgia area.

    How well does your motorcycle fit in this camper? I am looking into one and thinking of the 22ft black label because I'm concerned fitting 2 Baggers in the 18ft

    Looks good, but 1 question?
    Does it have a closet for jackets, chaps & non foldable clothing ?
    Been thinking about a toy hauler about that size. Thanks for the tour...

      I needs more space for clothes, that's one of my biggest complaints.

      Maybe we need to see the video about things you don't like about the toy hauler ?

      there is a cabinet for folding clothes above the bed, the length of the bed, and a small hanging closet (a foot wide, give or take) at the foot of the bed. It wouldn't hold full size hangers - we use child's size hangers and clamping pants hangers there. We roll up jeans, and hang shirts for the two of us. Enough room for a weeks worth. Use over the door hooks for jackets on the bathroom/pantry doors. We also mounted hanging baskets everywhere... they're small but the hold a lot of stuff.

    Hi Tall, so we bought this exact camper a few months ago and we love it .. question do you have to hook the orange hose up after every camping trip to flush the black tank or is draining it enough? We only went camping once and hardly used the toilet , there were facilities we mostly used..my husband thought he flushed it with the grey water afterwards.. i don’t know what he meant but …this is super important info because the camper didnt come with an owners Manuel!

    Mrs and I have been looking at toy haulers so I’d like to know what you’d do differently. Thanks

    With the lift kit on the trailer..does it cause any loading issues with the ramp angle?

      Yes it does, that's one thing I'd say about in my review video.

    I’ve been thinking of getting a toy hauler. That particular model is one I’m considering. What campground were you at?
