    Josh, I do appreciate you pointing out that this is potentially useful for handicapped persons such as myself. Actually I have considered a toy hauler for the exact reasons you mentioned with access for a motor wheelchair or scooter as steps are not my friend. I am not sure of the slope but depending upon how you were parked you could okay with the slope. I do like the patio feature on toyhaulers as I would travel with my ankle biter Weiner dogs and the fenced patio area would provide an outdoor runaround space. The bathroom is definitely a challenge but there are power shower chairs that could be useful for shower access if you have some mobility but that toilet looks low! I think you could reasonably transfer to the bed from a wheelchair without too much difficulty. The kitchen is nice in this model. For obvious reasons the living room isn't great but at least there is a dineofa!
    Since you seem to have the ear of the manufacturers, I think they are missing an opportunity regarding disability features. While they certainly don't need to be standard features, some optional features would be useful. Remember, we are an aging population and there are some missed opportunities. For me, I am a stroke survivor so an alternate entry option, such as a small ramp would be ideal. Steep entry steps are a no go for me. If there was some type of an attachable or folddownnramp and a way to have an additional handrail on the door side would help those with some mobility or if it were usable for motor scooter or travel wheelchair pushable. The other place that would help disabled persons would be a shower bar. That theoretically would be easy to add a backer piece for strength to support a shower bar. Not just useful for disabled persons but just anyone for safety. Of course any additional floor space is useful. An option for a bathroom lavatory without cabinets beneath could allow wheelchair access into the bathroom and up to the sink. A higher toilet with another grab bar would also be useful. I don't know if there would be any challenges with ADA compliance in terms of using that label. Perhaps a "comfort access" spin? Just some thoughts.

      Yeah, you've read me carping on this subject enough already. Having installed grab bars in our home by the toilet and one on each side of the garage door's two steps, I sort of just assumed I'd be able to screw in some grab bars when we get our unit, but now I'm wondering if the shower and walls would be strong enough to stand up to that kind of use. It's easy enough for us to just toss an extra shower chair in the shower too, though I've always had in my mind the image of installing one of those teak shower benches in our eventual trailer's shower too. If the industry or any manufacturer is willing, the other half has volunteered us to be test subjects or serve as consultation for projects like this. If you grab the ear of someone with pull in the industry, we plan to travel with an electric wheelchair and service dog and will gladly share our time and experience as we have no full time commitments. We would be thrilled to take part in making the industry more accessible and approachable for everybody who needs a change in scenery.

    We’ve got a 22rr and love it! It is interesting to see the little brother 18rr and the changes that were made for the smaller trailer. Thank you for the in-depth look at it.
    The space around the john looks kind of miserable, but the rest of it is certainly workable. This would be a great trailer for someone single or maybe a couple that are on vacation and want to take their toys with them.

    I love this one! The layout is amazing for a solo person living in it full time and working on the road. I’d remove the sofa and put a long desk and storage along the camp-side wall. I’d probably also want to remove the queen bed and making an L-shaped sofa/bed in its place (single bed across the front with a chaise extension along the wall under the window). I’m not totally sold on the black cabinetry, and the shower is a little small/short, but otherwise it’s great!

    I think the answer to the entertainment problem with this is if they would have placed a matching color board on the ramp door side of the kitchen to hold a swing arm tv. It would be more visible when on the couch or cooking dinner. You could even swing it all the way around and have it when you are on the deck area.

    What would make this trailer a whole lot better eould be to eliminate the closet at the foot of the bed and just extend the cabinets up top. Put the headboard back on like in the Wolf pup and put a bracket for the TV on that wall facing the pillows and you'd be good to go. If it was designed that way, I would buy one. Hello We have the 2021 with I believe all options. Nice Toy hauler. But the down size is that as I believe you pointed out it will not work for Most UTV,ATV etc... Ok for Motorcycles and smaller machines. The reason is that the wheel well that is carpeted inside is not Loadbearing so 11" is lost in width. That spec is not disclosed. That is from the Factory in Indiana as I went through a very discouraging Customer service and legal argument on this. So buyers beware. Also what I did not ever get a answer on was that the unit has these "gold connectors" (Not TV etc) that I never got a answer on? Anyway great video.

When we were going to seek legal action basically that was considered a long possibility of expense etc. Even expressing to the Camping World management bottom line they got the sale! Anyway perhaps the 2022 is designed for the weight? Easy thing to check. And the folks / Engineers were great in answering my questions in Indiana at he Factory. Hope that helps.Also got the answer on the connectors, WI-FI

      This is an update to the 19RR. They made a couple of changes; for me the biggest one is that the entry door was moved from the back to the front. Meaning you can access the bathroom and bed without having to climb over whatever toy you have strapped down.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kinda yes and kinda no lol -- the 19RR was like a "flip flopped" version of this. It was essentially a larger tandem axle version of the old wolf pup single axle toy hauler that preceded the 18RJB
      They saw the success of the 18RJB's design having that "open" side on the door-side of the RV and decided to update the 19RR grey wolf accordingly
      This created a larger loading space without really losing anything else -- actually I think the kitchen is LIGHTYEARS better than the 19RR's was. This also provides more separation for the bed area (rather than being right next to the kitchen counter)
      I never saw the 19RR prove very popular. I feel like this one is going to do *very* well

      No it doesn’t. It’s not a matter of battery power. This is not at all built for the type of camping that you’re discussing.
      You would need to add an inverter and some pretty serious wiring to do that. Basically you’re going to have to perform major electrical surgery on this RV. You’d be better off just getting a generator because it would literally be cheaper and work better.

    Suggestions
    1. That bench and table seem like they were purchased at WalMart and don't match the kitchen at all. First chance I get I'm removing it and installing one of my own with a decent table even if it leaves me with just 1 motorcycle spot for hauling.
    2. There is no such thing as a magic button to toggle the solar from lead acid to lithium - and I've looked everywhere. As far as I understand, the "Converter" only applies when you convert AC to DC, but not the solar. That "compatible with Lithium" label is pure marketing. The good news is, if you're upgrading to Lithium you'll also need something better than a 50 watt solar panel, which means the ultra thin 14AWG wire won't hold, so since you're re-wiring you might as well get a new charge controller that's actually lithium ion compatible.
    3. If you take it cross country, people will be constantly approaching you to remind you how pretty your RV is.
    4. The Black/Gray water pipe hangs way too low, you'll cringe if you take this thing off road.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      TY for all this. Appreciate the time you've taken. I definitely wouldn't look at this one as an "off road" model. In my head it seems best fit for something like ebikes or a golf cart for zipping around a campground.

    This is a nice, but limited inside space, small toyhauler. We're looking for a smaller toyhauler so we can continue to have a greater number of campsites that will work---the footprint of the toyhauler, with the ramp patio, must be considered for the depth of the campsite. We are both tall, so bed length is always an issue. This does look like it might be possible to get it to work with cushions at the end, good suggestion!
    3 questions:
    Does it have steps for the ramp patio?
    What are the dimensions of the couch? What are it's dimensions when used as a bed?
    Was that an oven in the video? If so, how small?
    Thanks for another great, informative video. We are fans!

    This was on our list but ended up being too heavy for our vehicle. We have the 18 RJB and we love it. The differences I see is this one has a much better kitchen (lots more storage, an oven, better sink and counter) and a slightly better bathroom. The 18RJB's bath is almost unusable for fluffy or long legged people. This one looks like it has a bit more leg room. I wonder if they did the little sink in the shower in this model if the bathroom could be made a bit more fluffy friendly? So far I like the little dinette the RJB has better than the sofa and the bed has the option of being a full queen if you take out the headboard. I wonder if this one would be easier or harder for the person sleeping in the back to get out?

    Nice overall design and layout for a weekender toy hauler, a couple of ideas that I have for this unit;
    1) What if they are to add a drop counter next to the sofa, could be used as a prep/ buffet bar while camping
    2) Instead of mounting a TV in the unit, what if you used a portable projector and Bluetooth apeaker. Then you could move the projector to anywhere inside or outside the toy hauler you want.
    3) I would love to see a ramp awning or an option to get a pop-up tent that would fit the ramp area (Lippert or another company might already do this and I didn't know)
    4) I love the layout for the awning and having the propane plug near but not under it. I would love to see at least a water spray point on the camp side nearby too, for easy clean up or just in case of an emergency.
